The place is very nice, but the food is mediocre bordering too salty. The wait staff are slow though they seem to be in a hurry at all times. Upon walking in, I was told this is the best restaurant in Quito. No it is not. It might look like one, but it lacks Italian authenticity and I think the owner needs to hire more staff to make customers feel more premium about this place.

We were just here at Carmines having dinner and were disappointed. I’ve been here before and the food has been phenomenal, but not today. I had the chicken lasagne and it was dry and not creamy at all. We also had the calamari as an appetizer and had to return it because it was too dry and salty.

Service was good, but for the quality it was overpriced. Drinks were overpriced as well. IVA tax at 12% expected, but they also charged 10% Servicio; propino was extra.

Used to be a favorite when Carmine was alive. We made a reservation for dinner for three families a week before, yet new management could not find it. We were bullied out of our seats while we waited for them to set a table for us. No parking space was available. The magic is gone. We are never going to return to this rude business.

Ok this is one of the best Italian plances in Quito. Excellent place and food. Try the crab caneloni. Ask for a table that KS not that close to a speaker. For dinner they often put some very nice live music. But if you are to close to speaker it can be too noisy. It's still a great place.

One of the best restaurants I have eaten anywhere in the world. A must go to. They bring in shows from Europe frequently. The atmosphere is great. I watched a game for the world cup there. I also hosted my FB friends there as well.

Top-notch restaurant serving excellent food. Not much else to say - multiple meals there have all been excellent food, comes out quickly, and the service is attentive and very professional. The pre-meal bread basket is dangerously delicious too. The environment is unique to the area, as the decor, music, and menu provide a cozy Italian feel in the middle of the city.

Hi-class Italian restaurant in Quito. We went there to have a dinner just before we left to airport. Despite high price, the staffs did not pay much attention to customers.

Although a bit pricey, a plate of gnocchi 20 dollars, the ambience and quality of food is amazing! 👍

I was treated to Mother's Day dinner here at this delightful restaurant. Even though it was busy, we were not rushed. Enjoyed the male vocalist who enhanced our meal with sentimental Italian standards. The establishment is very interesting, beautiful old cabinetry, full of plants, and an excellent meal, couldn't have asked for more.

Pricey, but incredibly good Italian food. The squid ink pasta was very good and exceptionally well cooked. One of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time.

Food less than average,nothing close to good italian. On top of that extremely expensive. Highly UN-RECOMMENDED.

Carmine, wow great food and Carmine what a great guy. We went there for lunch. The food was fabulous and services was excellent. Than when we need it to leave we couldn't get taxi. Carmine had someone for the restaurant drove us back to our hotel. If you visit Quito, you must go say hi to Carmine.

Food and service are amazing. Didn’t have to wait too long for a table for 7 people. The staff were very accommodating. This is the ideal place for celebrations and romantic dates. Best make a reservation. Valet parking is available.

Fantastic italian food! I can feel its greatness even when jetlagged.
