😠 This hospital is the worst hospital that I've ever been. Their staff are slow, processing are slow, admitting also took some time, everything here are slow.. it will eat up your time, effort and money and yet the service they provide are not worth it. It also irritating that whenever you need to ask... People often mention hospital, staff, nurses, medical, time, patient, good, doctor, money, room,

This hospital is the worst hospital that I've ever been. Their staff are slow, processing are slow, admitting also took some time, everything here are slow.. it will eat up your time, effort and money and yet the service they provide are not worth it. It also irritating that whenever you need to ask for something very important they will answer you that it's their policy. Your hospital policies sucks! We are asking for a copy of medical cert and they can't provide it to you unless your patient is already discharged, even if it is very needed specially it's one of the requirements in seeking for financial assistance. Then they can't even find a way to help you. this hospital only cares for your money not for your health! We regret that we went to this hospital. Never again!

I went to UCMED last February 2, 2023 at around 8AM to have my Swab Test because I need to be admitted by 2PM. Everyone has been so amazing. From the security guards to the nurses (Camille, Sarah and Daphne❤). Even the surgeons are very accomodating (Dr Armando Tan among many others). Everyone was really professional EXCEPT for the lady in the ADMITTING Section WINDOW 1. Around12:30pm, I went to the admitting section. There was this lady who WAS SO INDIFFERENT TOWARDS THE PATIENTS! She kept talking to her colleagues about the teleserye "DIRTY LINEN". I was actually just observing her from the waiting area and I noticed how UNPROFESSIONAL she was towards the patients. She was very CONDESCENDING!!! I was really surprised (IN A VERY BAD WAY) that UCMED would assign someone who is so UNATTENTIVE and IRRESPONSIBLE in the ADMITTING SECTION. I was actually very patient towards her. I gave her time to finish chitchatting with her colleagues, to have her snacks, I even gestured that I was fine when she told me that there was someone already ahead of me in the line. So I patiently waited for my turn. When she was done accomodating the patient before me, I noticed that she pretended to be busy by calling someone on the phone about the same information. She was audible from where I was seated. She then went to the rest room without even acknowledging the patients who were waiting for her. When she came back from the rest room, she continued chitchatting with her colleagues while munching on some snacks, that's when I finally approached her nicely and gave my admission slip when she blurted all of a SUDDEN "SIR, WE HAVE NO VACANT ROOM AS OF NOW, WHY DON'T YOU JUST WRITE DOWN YOUR NUMBER so that WE'LL JUST CALL YOU AS SOON AS THERE'S AN AVAILABLE ROOM/BED". So I politely answered her "BUT Maam the doctor instructed me to come today because I'm scheduled for my LAP CHOLE Operation tomorrow and I have to travel an hour to get here so It's okay I'll just wait here. She then RUDELY answered "YES, SIR I KNOW THAT BUT CAN'T YOU SEE WE HAVE NO ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR YOU RIGHT NOW! She then SARCASTICALLY pointed her fingers to the PATIENT'S ADMISSION FORMS laid out on the table. She rhen GRUMPILY said" DO YOU SEE THESE!?!!" I just nodded and was about to go home when somebody texted her (It was my doctors secretary, who happens to be my sister's friend. She then started to PRETEND nice and changed her tone to sound friendly but I wasn't buying it. Anyhow, I'm really sorry for such a long review but to wrap it up, that lady in the ADMITTING SECTION WINDOW 1 ruined my experience!!! I hope she gets to be "RETRAINED in Proper Customer Service" . She's such a TERRIBLE STAFF! SUCH A SHAME THAT UCMED's reputation is tainted by an INEFFICIENT STAFF like her!!!

Now, it is one of the best hospitals in Mandaue City. Soon it will be one of the premiere teaching hospitals in the region as it is owned by one of the biggest universities in Cebu. UC has started its school of medicine a couple of years ago and it will someday become one of the best medical schools in the country.

This is 9th floor view where my father admitted. Service of the doctors and nurse is good but their house keeping isn't cause you have to buy your own rags for cr. But all in all UCMed is good in health care services! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I got confined at UC MED hospital due to MS relapse last August 2022. At first, everything was smooth and fast but when I got to my room, the attending nurse who administered the first round of the steroid therapy failed to follow the correct procedure that resulted to me getting overdosed. I asked the nurse about it and the only thing she said was, sorry -- she didn't read the entire instruction of the doctor and is unfamiliar with my condition. To make matters worse, when I asked her to call her supervisor. The arrogant head nurse came in and told me that my confinement was not necessary, coz the procedure can easily be done at home and even questioned my wife about the infusion pump, if it was ours or from the hospital? Anyway, if you have a rare and complicated health condition, please think twice before going to this hospital for treatment. They really don't care about the patient's well-being, as long as they get paid. I even sent them a complaint letter after I got discharged, but never heard back from them. True, they are more affordable but can put you in harm's way😭😭😭

I don’t know how they get an approval from DOH and iso and so on but judging by their toilet it should not be allowed to operate. No tissues. Broken door knobs. Flies around. Terrible maintenance. At least parking is free but I guess not for long. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital or any in here but you got no choice. So better to stay healthy and fit so we hardly need to visit these money draining facilities.

Since there is no zero star I put in 1 star but in truth the ER nurses who is on shift now and the entire UCMED management doesn’t deserve any star. Patient went to ER for pain but was asked to sit down and wait because there were other patients before him. I understand that there’s a protocol in triage but I am wondering if these nurses understand that the longer they put the patient on hold for hours at ER the bigger the bill? Apparently, base on the bill we were charged for sitting in the ER for 3hrs to get attended for abdominal pain. So imagine if there were around 20more patient so you have to pay for them being understaffed? 🙄

Came here due to food poisoning. Was immediately accommodated and was settle in a room 30mins after I arrived. I'm being checked every 4 hrs but it's okay, I understand that they are short staffed and have a lot of patients to attend to. Doctor is a bit transactional but it's fine, some nurses are strict and others are not.

The hospital staff took so long to access my brother. They told us that they were allowing two guardians into the ward because my brother was a minor. My mom was also sick and feeling very weak and had to still end up alone in the ER with my brother. They wouldn’t let my dad into the ward to even help my mom who was still recovering from sickness. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional hospital. The nurses were very rude as I only asked for updates and the tone of their voices were not great. I thought this hospital was top tier in Cebu!! Their service is not great and i would rather have went to another hospital that would serve us better than this!

We had a very pleasant experience in regards to our stay + availment of medical services for my wife's delivery of our child. From ER, admitting, billing, nurse station, room ~ they have good coordination and gives clear instruction on what to do. You're constantly in the loop about the situation and they handle it very professionally from janitors to doctors, i can say, based on what we had, it was truly a great hospital experience.I thought it'll be a chaotic one (as with other hospitals) but i was wrong. Kodus UCMed!

Worst hospital ever! Went to the emergency room because I was having chills and fever as well as joint pains. Waited for 6 hours before they entertained me and got my lab works. Waited for another 3 hours for the results. I ended going home feeling worst than when I first went there. Decided not to admit because I still have to wait for vacancies. They did not inform me about this beforehand.

Without the exceptional doctors and nurses at UC Med I would have been permanently paralyzed or even lost my life. There were too many excellent nurses to name them all but the talent of the nurses and the genuine care really made my recovery easier. I had a large tumour removed from my spinal cord, and required two major operations which came with a long and difficult recovery. The skill of the surgeons and doctors is nothing short of world class. Saying thank you to them is simply not enough, I owe my life to them, but really thank you so much to Dr Dimaano, Dr Condor, Dr Curtis and Dr Chan - you gave me a future and I will be forever in your debt.

Jesus this hospital is a big joke it’s crazy how bad it can be. Organization is out of this world. Meds are way overpriced staff is useless. It’s sad cause I love the Philippines but your healthcare is one of the worst in SEA. Not much good to say. You’re so far away from german standard and it’s definitely to rip ppl off cause it’s expensive but doesn’t offer good standards.

Whenever I have some medical and health issues, I prefer visiting here for my first and second opinions. Aside from quality service and very engaging medical and health staff, it is also at par with Cebu’s best and premier hospitals

The WORST hospital in the Philippines! Rooms are dirty and no one cares about proper sanitation. Staff are extremely rude, especially the nurses who are probably overworked and underpaid. The attending doctors are sharks! Seems like their top priority is to take as much of the patient's money than what is best for them. Their cashier and billing staff are very lazy, they have no sense of urgency whatsoever. The lines are so long as a result. Same with the pharmacy, very slow service making lines extremely long. Do not come to UC Med!

It seems it is one excellent teaching hospital -- just my first impression, it's quite unlikely that I'll be returning here though. It so happened that it was one of the more accessible hospitals from our hotel, the Bayfront, when my son got sick during Sinulog 2018. The emergency room was well organized such that we were guided to see a doctor holding clinic that day since the case was less of an emergency. Getting approval for the HMO was quick -- far different from what we have in Laguna. The hospital itself is very neat and the clinic was spacious. Their out-patient department is also separated from the emergency rooms. The hospital too has a snack section with various food concessionaires. It's pretty impressive overall. Oh, we're not fluent with Cebuano but everybody we met made sure we understood everything.

Nurses and other medical staff are good. Emergency room does not attend to the patient unless a downpayment is made even if it is an emergency situation. Billing staff are rude. They applied a pwd discount even without an ID provided and removed the discount and reapplied the amount they deducted back to the bill. Medical records processing takes a long time and requires money every single time. Overall, this hospital only cares about money money money. Rooms are expensive but are small and uncomfortable. I Would never recommend coming here. Chong Hua and Maayo Hospital are much better, though a bit expensive, but the quality of service can never be questioned.

We went for RT PCR test not feeling bad not having any health issues. The test results were positive not sure why because we have no symptoms and haven't been around anyone with COVID. So how did we test positive? Don't think their Lab is up to qualifications. Wouldn't recommend this place as a testing center for COVID.

I can’t recommend this hospital because very slow billing and discharging of a patient might take 5-6 hours. There’s 4 counter on the cashier but only 2 available. Even after discharge you have to wait 1 hour for cashier. Better choose another hospital.

Absolutely horrible hospital. I wish I could give them zero. My father in law is having issues with his lungs. We live almost 3 hours away from this hospital and tried calling many time. The phone system doesn't even work. How can you be a life saving company and people can't even reach you. Absolutely horrible. I recommend going to another hospital.

It's a big hospital but it seems to be lacking in some aspects. Their staff are rude. Their food court is barren. Their PCR test is advertised 24/7 but when you go there it's not which is a let down. The only saving grace is that the result was emailed a few minutes earlier than the release time.

I recently had a distressing encounter at UC MED Mandaue Hospital's Emergency Room Department that left me deeply dissatisfied with the level of care and professionalism exhibited by the staff. My experience, unfortunately, fell far short of the standard one would expect from a reputable medical facility. Upon arriving at the Emergency Room, I was already feeling quite anxious due to my asthma exacerbation, which had led to significant breathing difficulties. The personnel from the ambulance who brought me in were sympathetic and immediately recognized the severity of my condition, suggesting that I needed oxygen support as my oxygen levels were low. However, my optimism was short-lived as I interacted with the emergency nurses. To my dismay, the emergency nurses displayed an alarming lack of empathy and professionalism. Rather than acknowledging the urgency of my situation, they appeared dismissive of my distress and seemed to mock me when I expressed my difficulty in breathing and my pre-existing asthma condition. This attitude only exacerbated my anxiety and discomfort, leaving me feeling utterly neglected. Moreover, what further added to my disappointment was the refusal of the emergency nurses to provide me with the oxygen support recommended by the ambulance personnel. Despite clear indications from the ambulance team about the need for oxygen, the nurses were adamant in denying me this basic life-saving assistance. This blatant disregard for the advice of the ambulance team and my well-being was both shocking and deeply concerning. I understand that emergency rooms can be busy and demanding environments, but it is crucial for medical professionals to treat patients with respect and sensitivity. No one should feel humiliated or belittled when seeking medical help, especially during a time of vulnerability. I sincerely hope that UC MED Mandaue Hospital takes these concerns seriously and undertakes a comprehensive review of their Emergency Room department's practices and staff training. It is imperative that steps are taken to address these issues to ensure that future patients do not have to endure such unprofessional and insensitive treatment. In conclusion, my experience at UC MED Mandaue Hospital's Emergency Room department was distressing, characterized by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the nurses, who mocked my medical condition and refused to provide necessary oxygen support. I urge the hospital management to take prompt action to rectify these shortcomings and improve the quality of care offered in their Emergency Room. I don’t recommend coming to this facility.

Not first time friendly. Booked a Saturday lab appointment via their online site 8 days ahead, not one call or text for confirmation. Turns out office to request LOA is closed on Saturdays. Some of my lab request are not even available on Saturdays. 3 staff have conflicting knowledge if the LOA office was closed or not. At least staff and receptionist are kind, offered me the phone to call HMO myself to request LOA. I don't know if that's the usual but this other also big clinic I've been to confirmed the appointment, prepared all necessary documents, LOA, etc, and open on Saturdays.

Not the best hospital. No good doctors. They overcharge people, cost of their surgeries and equipments are too expensive. They only care about money not the life of the patient. The hospital bills in just a few days massively up for 1001%...!

Very dissapointing, it takes 5hrs waiting and counting (coz i'm still here) I hope the new DOH Secretary monitor this "Red Tape" in the organization, The poor patients are waiting outside chilling without advice or update what's gonna happened next, they are just sitting down inside. If I were the head of this hospital, I will train them in the hospitality industry to know the true meaning of "Sense of Urgency"

I was hospitalized at Chong Hua Hospital and received surgery for a broken radius by Dr. Vizcayno. He, as well as his team, showed a level of professionalism and care that truly made me feel I was in good hands from the very beginning. I am very grateful for the service I received. Later after surgery, I showed my x-rays to a friend working in the same field in Chicago and him and his coworkers said the job couldn’t have been done more perfectly. I feel blessed.

They claim to release the rapid antigen test results within 3-4hours. After 5 hours of waiting outside the hospital, still nothing. Don't do your tests here.

  • 1/5 racle l. 1 year ago on Google
They don’t know how to prioritize and do triage properly( based from our experience) You have to wait for few days for your family member to have the surgery because the OR is booked. It is an emergent case and patient is in pain and i’m just amazed of their reasoning!

Your phone receptionist is so rude and lacks active listening skills. Also she doesn't have any clue to which department to transfer me to. Wa pa ko naka ask sa pangotana, gi ingnan kog "usa lang sa ka concern ma'am" I was just giving her a background para makasubay siya sa akong i-question. Please train them to be better at their job coz you claim to be "world class" Makadismaya oy she sounded like one of those sungit nga tindera sa bakery nga aborido.

We came here for our predeparture PCR and although it took awhile with all the waiting and administration, the process was rather smooth with adequate precautions and protocols in place. The results were out timely as well as predicted. Many other facilities were closed at night for covid testing, but this medical center was thankfully still available.

Why would any doctor choose to have their office in this hospital? There isn’t any place to park your car, you have to park at Chong Hua, and it’s filthy from no toilet paper or soap in the restrooms to construction everywhere. Only giving it 2 stars because they have a FatCow.

Trash. I paid for consult and got told to do a blood test. Got blood test, but before that, they made me talk to a doctor AGAIN just for the doctor to ask for my name to confirm my identity. turns out, that less than 30 seconds talk was also considered a consult and they charged me again full price. Anyway, my parents came to reception and paid all the fees while I was out of area. I got no issues, even got the receipts. And it's been that way for MONTH so I chucked the receipts when I moved apartments. Until I started receiving receipts again randomly MONTHS LATER saying I need to pay for medical treatments I never did, nor asked for, nor even knew of?? Like, how many blood tests am I going to have to pay for even though I just had 2 the entire time I've been in UC?? Wondering if there was an error in payment processing.

We had an unpleasant encounter at UC MED Mandaue. We arrived in an ambulance with my partner in significant discomfort due to a chest sprain. Regrettably, we were met with the nurse's initial concern of whether we had the finances to cover admission or diagnostic tests like X-rays or CT scans, rather than checking on his well-being. This was particularly disappointing given that they are touted as one of the city's largest hospitals. From our experience, I can't recommend their services due to not only the high costs, but predominantly because of the unsatisfactory patient care we encountered. Never AGAINN!!!!!

I was very disappointed with the care and treatment that my father received during his hospitalization. The doctor kept ordering imaging and test but gave no update about the results until after 3 days. The nurses doesn’t have any knowledge as to the test and results either. There we’re no precautions given for isolation. They already exposed some visitors and probably staff. My father had to stay another day ,apparently the specialist did not clear the discharge because it fall on a holiday.Which means addition pay for the room etc. How come the patient had to wait for the doctors? There is no empathy from staff in this hospital and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this Hospital at all..This should be complained to Philhealth

The facilities and staff service are excellent, higly recommended. I think they need to work out on the admission and billing process, they are a bit slow in this area which you have to bring a lot of patience. Also, theys should avoid overcharging the patients especially if the problem is on the hospital management side..
