Forget Zion - this is the best of majestic Southern Utah scenery you can get free of charge and free of the annoying selfie-happy crowds. Though here you will not be able to stop taking pictures yourself. Especially in the summer months with the trees lush and green this hike is truly spectacular. It is a flat trek for most of the trail, which is primarily either sandy or loose rocks (further into the canyon there is more scrambling around boulders). You will cross the stream several times as you follow it meandering into the canyon of soaring reddish canyon walls. As to where or if this trail actually ends I cannot say, it seemed like this trail would follow through the canyon forever but eventually I turned back after at least two hours. One thing I have not seen in the reviews is that in warmer months you WILL see snakes. I saw one very small garter snake and two rattlesnakes. Please be sure to watch where you step and you should be fine. Note that the road to get here off of S Old Hwy 91 is not paved but the distance is short and it is well maintained. There are ample parking spots as even on weekends there are relatively few hikers.

This hike was a perfect day hike, round trip/out and back, just over 5 miles. Which took us just over 2hrs to do. Half out in the open with juniper trees and half in a slot canyon. Very close to the kanarra falls hike but way less crowded. The stream was just a trickle when we went July 30th, 22, but I have a feeling early spring it would run fairly high. The parking lot to this trail head is blm land and overnight camping is allowed! Which is so awesome, we had it all to ourselves. Fires are not allowed and please leave no trace when you leave!

Nice slot canyon a short drive from town. Go early in day as the lower part gets hot. It’s just about 3 miles max one way. Some eater in the middle section when we were there at the end of June. Lower part is an easy walk. Upper part more of a scramble in places.

We absolutely loved this hike! The slot canyon begins pretty soon past the trailhead (compared to some slot canyons we visited that required a mile plus hike to get to). I would not recommend the road in if there has been any rain as it can be pretty steep in some places. We went late November and much of the creek was frozen over. We found that to be an amazing experience but as it heated up later in the day, turned to more slush. If you go when it's cold, might actually aim to go with the ice. Use spikes for best control but our teens enjoyed sliding. Where the water was flowing, rarely much deeper than ankles but you will have to cross several times so prepare accordingly. Probably simplest to do this hike in the warmth when the cool water feels good but we loved the ice (not everyone on the trail shared that opinion, i should note). Dog friendly hike as well.

We had a great time hiking the trail. Nice easy one for young kids although I did have to swing them across the stream once in a while.

CANNOT recommend this place enough! i went back in october at the crack of dawn, and it was absolutely gorgeous. i would say it's a fairly beginner-friendly hike.

Went in late May, slightly breezy but a good temperature. There's some mild climbing needing the further you go in the canyon. The little creek was pleasant and covered. Lots of flies in some areas though.

Such a beautiful experience. Easy and clear trail to follow. We were there mothers day weekend and the weather was beautiful. It does get chilly towards the actual canyon, definitely bring hat for the for the beginning. Also want to mention how easy it was to drive there too. We have 3 dogs that absolutely loved this trail. One of them is a senior maltese-chihuahua mix and was able to finish it easily
