This is a great fishing hole if you know what to do! Some times of year are very slow however. Now's a great time! My favorite trout method there is bread. It really doesn't matter where your at on the pond. Bread is my go to. Spinner baits have also caught me a couple 20+inchers and 3 pounders. I caught a 7 pound largemouth there last Sunday. (In two weeks I beat that fish with an 8.12lb largemouth bass which is just 2 pounds under the Utah State record and about 4 inches under the catch and release Utah record largemouth) Night crawler, powerbait and trout mallows are also good options which I've had success with. The best time to fish it for trout is early mornings, especially with lures, but if you can't fish the morning, go ahead and bring some bread. I caught 20 trout last Sunday with bread from 7am-2pm. People typically use Texas rigs here for bass, but I say mix it up a bit. The bass like moving injured type fish right now so don't be afraid to throw a jerkbait or swimbait. There's also plenty of other wildlife around including squirrels, birds, butterflies, beetles, and even bullfrogs. Anyway, I have a YouTube channel with plenty of info on fishing if you're new, or interested, I recommend you check it out! fishingwithleif is the channel name.

This spot is awesome it has restrooms (with flushing toilets), picnic area, trails for biking or just walking, you can paddle board, use your kayak, or fish. It's dog friendly. I've also seen people riding their horses. It has a playground area. You can relax and enjoy the duckies swimming on the water.

What a neat little park! They got playground for kids, lots of picnic tables that are just tucked away throughout the park. But the best part is the pond! It's very clean water. All kinds of fish in there! You can kayak and canoe here. A little hidden gem in the middle of civilization. A great place to take the family or just get away and enjoy the views as you catch some fish and grill some food!

They have done quite a bit of expanding, construction is still currently going on(Feb 2022), mainly parking lot expansion. The trails are excellent for walking and there are picnic areas here and there which is nice to be able to have you're own space. our kids love the entire park but it's definitely a perk to have a playground, although the slide is currently broke and blocked off. But best of all, The bathrooms near the pond are currently open and BONUS, they're flush toilets and sinks! The bathrooms by the playground are not open which is hugely inconvenient for families with kids playing. But that isn't different from Amy other park in Utah, they close them all from Labor day to Memorial day which is absolutely ridiculous! 4 stars due to the construction and locked playground bathrooms.

I had a nice run around the park. The pond looked like a fun place to play. I really enjoyed it.

It is a family place, with plenty of grills to roast meat, there are bathrooms, it has a small lake where you can swim, fish, or use small floats to navigate (not motors). a large covered area for family life and it is very fun to take the children and eat near the lake

I love going here, especially when it's warm outside. You can swim in the lake, go fishing, go for a walk or jog around the lake, and so on with the trails they have there. They also just redone the little playground there and have places to have picnics if you'd like.

Beautiful small pocket park with the lake two or three access point some docks in a small beach for kids to swim when the waters high if you get there by 8:30 in the morning even on a busy weekend day you'll have plenty of space in the easy l parking and access to water. If you catch it in early summer when the runoff is high or the water is not just diverted there is a beautiful flowing Creek through the park. Plenty of room for daytime canopies and cooking. Great family holiday spot

Great area, we had lots of fun. Could use more shade trees along the main non-fishing side of the lake. Fun trails to explore, lots of picnic tables, can easily find a place to eat that isn't taken by others.

A hidden gem! I love this place. Plenty of grassy area to sit by the lake for swimming, even when it's super busy. Beautiful walking trails.

Nice little park with lots of trees for shade. I love going there with a blanket to lay out and take a nap on. It's so peaceful. I love Highland all together. Great little city. It's getting bigger fast though. I've enjoyed living here.

We had a great time, it was beautiful for a desert pathway, and our puppy loved being able to pop in and out of the river. We did find something funny on the pathway and wonder if Highland Park was aware they had stolen stock images, at least once! Haha.

Great little spot for kayaking, swimming, fishing and sitting on the beach. There is construction on the beach side right now so the part of the beach accessible is grass and then rocks/dirt but still great for being able to get into the water. Usually busy after lunch.

Nice park but I believe last I saw they have some type of parasite issue in the water so stay out of the water. Unless you don’t mind having the um well I’m sure you know what I’m getting at. There fishing there, park for kids. You can access Murdock Canal Trial. Picnic table. Nice quiet place.

This is a fun pond to go fishing, walking, biking, paddle boarding, or canoeing. I like to go see the ducks and the trees. The mountains make a beautiful backdrop and you feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness and not in the city. There are ducks in the pond, so I wouldn’t recommend swimming. This pond has been known to give people swimmers itch.

I stinking love this place. Spending time here is probably in my top 3 favorite things to do, whether it be fishing, kayaking, swimming, taking prom pictures, or anything else this place always leaves me with a pleasant feeling. The water can get contaminated in the summer, but the walking path is level and shaded for a decent portion of it. There are good public restrooms and several drinking fountains spread around the location. Awesome park!

Can't go wrong stopping by here for a few hours. Bring a fishing pole, a standup paddle board, a picnic basket or some grilling supplies and you'll be set for the afternoon.

Really nice park. I've been to and through this park many times. There's plenty to do, from relaxing or playing on the lawn to fishing, paddle boarding, canoeing, etc. Plus, there are a bunch of trails for walking, biking, or skating. There's a pavilion area with a lot of tables, which is well kept and clean. One of the trails is a 300-yard loop with a small water fall-like area and a small sort of amphitheater. It's really a charming place with a lot to do.

Great park to go walking on paved walkways. There is lots of ducks and apparently small snakes by the water! Can play in the water and some people go fishing there. Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because it is currently under partial construction. About 1/4 the walkway by the water is under construction. Other than that, I would highly recommend this park as very family friendly!

Very nice and very nice and clean. Long trails to walk around the pond and even a trail that goes to another park a few miles down the road. It's a nice little hidden gem.

Nice property with decent walking paths, and a nice lake with lots of ducks. Highland City does not do a good job keeping it up. There are broken/rotting benches, unconnected water fountains, poor fire rings, bathrooms always locked, and in late summer when water is low, algae blooms. The vegetation is overgrown. In general, nice park, poorly managed.

I visited this hidden and secluded park which has lots of areas to park and be alone, just sayin. But mostly I visited it to test something on the water, and it served its purpose for said testing with extremely calm water. Also there are lots of ducks and that’s really a tender mercy.

One of the best, but watch out for the popo they come lurking around sundown closing the park to all the hooligans, riff Raff, Palooka's & kissy kissy teenage parkers.

Love this hidden gem! Taking the dogs for walks on the trail is so much fun. My kids love the pond, and beg me to take them fishing. Lots of great picnic areas, and tons of things to do. We even had family pictures here a few years ago.
