From originally moving in they jacked up my rent by 50%, didn’t do anything about noisy neighbors, and the floors and walls are paper thin. I would not recommend living here.

Many apartment in Des Moines are owned by corporations. It's the managers and people that make the Vue special. I have lived here for over a year now and am very pleased overall. I do not think you will get the best square footage per dollar anywhere else downtown. They have one of the few underground garage that is heated during the winter around here. Jose is great and works very hard to help the apartments going. My dog loves seeing Jose. Scott has been great to work with and is very attentive to the needs of the residents. For instance, my car wouldn't start and Scott helped me out. Occasionally there are residents (and their friends) who will disrupt the night and leave out beer cans. But in general there are many working professionals here so for the most part it is quiet. The Vue is close enough to downtown but just far enough to stray from the traffic and noise. The prices are comparable to similar sized apartments downtown. I don't have many good things to say about Hubbell overall as a corporation. But they are lucky to have such great employees who genuinely care for the residents. Edit: My review still holds true, after 3 years here. Although the building staff has changed since I wrote my initial review, Hubbell keeps getting lucky with such great employees. David has been really phenomenal the last several months. He is very prompt with his responses and always is happy to see you. He went out of his way to make sure that I felt at home. Of note, I stopped utilizing the underground parking the last few months before my lease expire and I will say that street parking is usually available during the day. It is harder between the hours of 7-9 and although there is street parking across Crocker Street, they are metered until 9. The meter police rarely come around but I have seen cars ticketed on a few occasion. In the end, I would still recommend this place because of location, Vue staff (not corporate staff), parking garage, and the residents. Most residents are still very respectful of the property and are not noisy.

Love living at the VUE! It’s a perfect location to get anywhere in the city. Close to the East Village across the Women’s Achievement Bridge, the downtown Farmer’s Market, and Gray’s Lake. Management and maintenance are always responsive and kind. Plus as the name suggests, the views are amazing!

Communication at VUE was absolutely atrocious. There was never anyone working in the office and if you tried to call/email about an issue, it would always take several days/attempts to reach someone. Multiple residents asked us if we also had hard times getting ahold of anyone so it’ll probably happen to you too. Apartments are cheap, the keyfabes would stop working constantly. Both to the apartment building and to the dog park. The dog park gate was broken for months and my guess is it still is. Dog park was poorly maintained. Parking situation was extremely poor. Absolutely nothing special about these apartments, and felt like once our lease was locked in, they didn’t care that we were living there. With so many new, higher quality apartments popping up around downtown Des Moines for roughly equivalent rents (and probably better amenities) I would save the time and look elsewhere.

All appliances and amenities are in working order. Common spaces are useful and clean. Convenient location. Helpful staff. Street or lot parking usually easy to come by.

The VUE has been a great place to live for us. It is clean and has modern appliances in each unit. It also has a gym available to all residents. It is within walking distance to downtown Des Moines, which is a huge plus! The staff is incredibly helpful-they are quick to reply with any issues or maintenance problems. Parking can be a bit tricky at times, but there is underground parking available and street parking as well-something to expect when living downtown!

They were very helpful when we first moved in.I really love the layout of my apartment and how spacious it is. I love that it is close to my work and my daughters daycare. My two-year-old daughter loves the elevator and so do I. Everything in the apartment was exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I would of liked would of been a swimming pool. But other than that it checked everything on my list. Parking was great at first but it's an issue on the daily now. I highly recommend the VUE apartments. I love coming home from work everyday.

Great location for those who want to live downtown but work in WDM or other surrounding areas - easy access the interstate! The staff has been very friendly. Amenities are fabulous and I love the layout and design of the apartments as well. My only complaint is the parking now that the east side of the street is a no parking zone, but they have a garage available if you want to pay extra.

This apartment has been great so far! Management has been very responsive to any and all questions or concerns. Brand new apartments with all updated appliances. The community room and rooftop hangout are definitely a plus. Also super close distance to downtown restaurants and bars!

Great location. Austin the property manager was great, always very helpful and responded to our needs quickly. The parking was a big bonus, large open parking lot right next to building, along with several more private spots in the back. The Vue also has one of the faster elevators I’ve found in Des Moines which I loved so much!

Love Love Love living here! Have had a great experience living here so far! If there is ever a problem, Austin helps in any way and as quick as possible! You can tell he really wants to make the experience here positive!

Lived here 3 years and loved it! Great place to be if you want to be close to downtown but not directly downtown. Good for pups and the staff is great, always had my issue resolved. The view from the rooftop is amazing!!

Great place to live located at the edge of downtown. Been here for several years now and the property/amenities are well maintained. The maintenance workers here are great, both Doug and Jose come in a timely manner while fixing whatever issue while explaining it like a true professional! All the managers have been great here as well starting from Scott, to David, and now Austin!

Location is right next to the interstate, great amenities and pricing is reasonable for downtown living. Austin the property manager is awesome! And the view is great!

Absolutely amazing, Austin the on site manager was awesome from beginning to the end, friendly and accommodating for everything, maintenance guys were great too, definitely recommend staying here. Only con would be parking but only a small piece from how great it was.
