A trully look alike romanic bridge that allegedly was rebuilt by Saint Gonçalo, in the same place of a original one who collapsed due to a flood. Nearby there is the church and convent in honour of the Saint, inside church's cloisters the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso museum was developed, he is know for futurism and modernism works, some of this works and caricatures can be seen inside. As curiosity Amadeo was a contemporary of Pablo Picasso and Gaudi in the city of Paris. A parking area can be found close to the church so its possible to park nearby and cross it by car. The river landscape, bridge, museum and other places to visit are very conveniently close. Some nice coffee shops and traditional bakeries and restaurants are in this area, a must visit city!

Worth a visit if in the nearby vicinity. A very quiet place with picturesque scenes of Ponte de São Gonçalo in Amarante. We visited the place in October. Going further into the village by walk there a few cafeterias where a good coffee and Portuguese traditional sweets can be tried.

A very classical city. Leisurely, romantic and comfortable! It's worth spending a day browsing slowly. A cup of coffee and simple snacks while enjoying the beautiful river and pedestrians!

We stopped here on a tour. It is very pretty! We took pictures and we also got to check out the local market near by. You can also find a public bathroom at this market in case you’re looking for one.

From far the nicest view we found in north Portugal. This bridge and the old city around has everything, crossing a cute natural river, surrounded by lovely buildings.

Very authentic and clean historical places... For me the cars shouldn't be there, but unfortunately it is not possible.

Beautiful bridge, next to a quiet and big church. An amazingly nice hidden gem in the suburbs of Porto. It has parking, coffee shops nearby and places to buy souvenirs.

Make sure you rent one of those pedal boats by the river and make your way under the bridge and get some nice pics of it and the church next to it
