I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Rey de Las Pupusas, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. What drew me to this restaurant was the option of two different sizes for their Pupusas, and I decided to try both the regular and the larger size. The photos truly speak volumes about the size difference - the bigger ones were impressive! The pupusas were incredibly cheesy and, most importantly, absolutely delicious. The blend of flavors and the generous amount of cheese made every bite a delight. The combination of textures and the savory taste left me craving for more. The regular and larger sizes provided a choice to satisfy different appetites, which was a great feature. I highly recommend El Rey de Las Pupusas for their delectable pupusas, whether you prefer regular or the larger size. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic, cheesy, and mouthwatering pupusas.

I was there today to pick up two tamales and. Two chicharrón #pupusas . The pupusas were def great . They are small but that’s ok with me. Tamales were good too. The place itself is very humble. Really not much going on . I wish they would keep a window open that you can look into the kitchen that way people are more at ease when they eat there. The restaurant isn’t big. I think maybe 8-10 tables I was little scare about the cleaningness of the kitchen as you pass the bathroom there is very small window that you can look into the kitchen so I did that . THe bathroom was def clean so that gave me a bit more confidence about this place. I wanted to give this place a chance so I did that. I waited about ten to 15mts for my order . I paid cash but it looked like they took credit and debit . Service was very good . If you go here, don’t expect a grandiose restaurant because it isn’t . Hopefully they make a name for themselves and can re-invent the restaurant . But the pupusas were def the best I have had anywhere in Rhode Island .

My wife and I had a craving for Salvadorian food, so we googled Salvadorian restaurants in Providence and among the choices given by Google, El Rey de las Pupusas( King of the Pupusas) stood out. We got to the place and the neighborhood looked a bit sketchy. But that doesn't mean that the food is not good, so we went in and ordered bean pupusas, cheese and loroco pupusas and chicken pupusas. We also ordered 2 tamales de elote (corn tamales) and fried yucca. To our surprise the pupusas didn't have cheese in them and were very dry and the taste was not great. The only pupusa with cheese was the cheese pupusa and didn't have much either. The tamales had an odd flavor and the atol de elote had a weird taste also. I was surprised to hear that the restaurant has been there for 19 years. This place needs a lot of improvements to make to their recipes. I will not recommend this place due to the poor food preparation, taste, quality and presentation. The only good thing was the server who was very friendly and accommodating.

Tomato salsa was not anything special, but their jalapeño salsa that we put on a tostada with refried beans and queso fresco was good. I had the Bandeja Salvadoreña as my entrée so I could get a taste of everything. It came with a cut of grilled meat I couldn’t identify, Spanish rice and beans, roasted yuca, and a very simple salad. The deep frying of the plantains brought out their mild sweetness — yum! My favorite treat was the warm fluffy corn tortillas! Price was more than reasonable for the amount of food you get.

El primer dia que visite eran buenas pero creo que son differente chefs so uno una sabe como van sali. Mucha masa y regeno con solo un poco de lo que selectionas Very hard and lumpy dough and hardly any filling. Had a very bland and tasteless red sauce and they where the worst pupusas I ever had.. I never write reports or reviews on things but I felt disrespected with this place I just had to let any other future customers to not waste their money.

Popusas suppose to be cheesy. Suppose to be stringy when you cut it. It’s simple. What I got was just a tortilla. A nice tortilla with nothing inside. She said it was because it was for take out and it happens, I guess it happens a lot here. Not coming here again. Had to throw 16 popusas away.

First and last time buying pupusas here. They were mostly burned. And with little to no filling. The sauce tasted canned and very sweet like for pasta or something.
