Great location and nice enough pool but not worth the money!! Front looks nice like a hotel, but rooms are run down and tiny. The bathrooms were so mouldy and gross

Humble place with big prices, found a big disparity between value and price. Even in the hotel boutique, $40 for a shirt that was made in Vietnam? Weird choice, as a tourist, we want to see or buy local stuff. I chose this hotel because it is one of the few pet friendly hotels in the area, so it is still a good place for an emergency or budget trip. Personally, I will not choose this hotel again.

We checked into the hotel for a two night stay. Then we went to our rooms. No one to help transport luggage and no luggage carts. The room was dirty and there were no hand towels and just 2 bath towels for the four of us. No coffee or bottled water either. We promptly checked out and went to a wonderful hotel right next door. Don’t waste your time or money staying here.

Selina Granada is a high quality hostel. It must be the best located accommodation in Granada , located just on the central Plaza. There is a wide range of tours and activities hosted by the hostel. This is one of the more social Selinas that I have stayed in on my travels through Central America. There is a nice pool and the food quality is also excellent.

If you like to cook your meals, I'd look elsewhere — the kitchen isn’t functional. There’s one small refrigerator shared between 50-100 people, no utensils most of the time, frequent fridge issues that cause food to spoil and be thrown away by staff, and very little oversight or maintenance. A nice place in other ways, and staff are very kind and do a great job, but Selina isn’t a good fit for long stays.

Incompetent receptionists. They asked me more money. I had a reservation through hostelworld and normally the deposit is included in the total payment. They just don't know and they are so convinced, that they were right. So in the end I didn't have my deposit back. Don't come HERE.

Location is great… but this is a very dirty hostel. Unless you are truly balling on a budget I DO NOT recommend staying here. The furniture in the shared spaces was also a shade of brown they were so filthy… Selinas has been responding to these reviews promising to clean the showers for over a year. So I’m sure they will respond to this review saying the same thing and let the showers grow mold for another year… what a shame for such a nice location. I will not be back.

This hostel is a bit more expensive than other options but they offer an amazing coworking space, have an absolute prime location and the staff is very nice. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm in low season and had it almost to myself the entire time. The downside was that Selina was not a very social place, but I could always check out other hostels to socialize. For what I wanted at that point in time: a chill atmosphere that lets me focus on work - I chose the right place! Food at the hostel is super expensive and the kitchen is very badly equipped. I would recommend to eat out at local buffet style places, if you are on a budget! Also tours at the hostel are more expensive for some reason. (Just go and book with Oasis instead.) All in all, I really enjoyed my stay here.

The pillows could have been much more comfortable. I was a fan of the decor. My AC worked okay, but know what you would want after spending a day in the Heat and humidity. I love the staff at the front desk and the bar; so friendly and welcoming

I feel incredibly bad for the staff here because they’re generally lovely and clearly they’re not getting any support from whoever is supposed to run the place or the owner of Selina. People behind the bar were lovely and a few reception staff. 1. No hot water. Like at all. We were told there were solar panels but it was sunny while we were there so they clearly don’t work. Honestly unforgivable for the price point. AND they say hot water on the website. The staff have told their bosses multiple times and they’re not doing anything about it. There’s also plenty of other reviews mentioning this, they clearly just don’t want to take it off the website. 2. Shower has the worst pressure I ever experienced. It took half an hour to wash conditioner out of my hair. 3. The wifi was bad and kept dropping, especially in the rooms even though they have a work space. 4. The coworking space was good but the call booths were not contained and there would be people who came in and took loud calls in the communal section of it. 5. Place is generally run down. The pool needs some serious TLC and while I was there I didn’t see anyone in it. 6. There’s NO vibe at all! There must have been five other people staying there. Not to mention some much older men who didn’t look like they were there just for a holiday. The space is too big to create any kind of meaningful culture or vibe. 7. Windows aren’t soundproof so there were people playing loud music at 7am on a Friday? 8. Extras at the Selina are super expensive. Random snacks were 3x the price of other places and the menu just overpriced in general. 9. Felt really bad for the horses outside. 10. Someone stole half our pizza from the fridge when it was wrapped up and labelled!!! Asked the staff about it and they said they’d look at CCTV. Chased up a day later and they said they couldn’t look at it. Very sus Honestly at this point I don’t even want a response telling me how they’re going to do better in the future. Whoever owns Selina needs to sort themselves out instead of ripping off travelers Just don’t stay here, don’t. It’s not worth the risk. First and last Selina

This place is not like the pictures at all. I’m not sure which room they are showing but it’s not the majority. We booked two rooms for one night and both rooms were tiny, not decorated and more like a step up from a prison room. We were shown our rooms and then we quickly asked for a refund. We were told it’s non refundable. Don’t waste your money. We didn’t even stay and ended up eating the cost and going down the street. All we wanted was a refund for the bait and switch. SKIP THIS PLACE!! Don’t make the same mistake we did.

I didn't stay at the hotel cause it is a little pricey but it's very nice, central and they offer massages and spas at favorable prices. I did however hit up the bar. It was amazing service I recommend the Salinas margarita and I also had a passion love. Very good drinks. And then just chill in the lobby or wherever. Love the bartenders very good at what they do.

The bartender Luna can make a mean drink and is all smiles. Such an inviting atmosphere that is perfect to recoup from a treehouse party night. This place is absolutely awesome, felt like a maze and had so many people to meet but still never felt like you had to be in the limelight if you wanted to rest! Seriously though Luna is the man!!

I have stayed at quite a few Selina’s, and I was disappointed by my stay at this one. The price was way too high for what you got, especially compared to other places in Granada. There was no hot water the entire time I was there. The staff threw away a bag of my groceries in the fridge, despite it being labeled and despite the sign saying the fridge cleaning was not going to happen until the next day. When I asked the front desk about it, the guy said he had to go ask the cleaners and then just never came back. Seriously? That’s pretty representative of the rest of the staff too, not helpful or very friendly. The only redeeming factors are the central location and the super nice coworking space. Expected a lot more from a Selina.

Stayed here for 3 nights 4 days with my family of 9, the breakfast was great, the servers were phenomenal, Berto and Carlos really took care of us. Hotel was centrally located so we were able to walk to other parts of town with ease. The hotel itself is so cute. I planned my moms surprise 50th birthday party and Tadeo helped with the planning, decorating and getting a cake for us. It was honestly a great experience. Rooms got 4 stars only because the AC is a little older and room wasnt as cold as i like it but was still able to get cold.

Lobby seemed luxurious but once inside it's a bit shabby. Could be cheaper for the quality. Location is amazing, right in front of park. Close to everything. Only downside of that is (not so) random beggars constantly loitering in front of hotel, asking for "food". Apparently, they constantly steal from ppl and somehow the hotel allows them to continue loitering. Maybe the hotel is in on it and they split the profits? Otherwise, i don't understand why they would allow a guy to openly push coke on their front lobby. Just creates bad vibes.

Selina the best location in town! Didn't stay here. Just went for a coffee...most expensive coffee I've ever had 😆🤣 same price as a breakfast at the corner... 120 for a coffee...lots of tourist stays here.. Beside from that Welcoming and helpful staff. Gave me some advise on my onwards travels. The porch is really nice to chill at. They offer Coworking space too!

We stayed in a standard private room, we got a room without any windows and we had cold water in the shower after 16:00. Not worth the money in my opinion. Also, all the tours that you can book from the reception are more expensive from all the other hostels (we ended up booking everything from Oasis hostel). For the good parts- The location is probably the best among all other hostels, and the hostel itself is very nice. The kitchen is also nice.

Selina Granada was great! the place is perfectly located on the main square, with lots of place to get food or a drink near by. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms vary a lot but I was in a spacious clean 4 bed room with a clean bathroom. The hostel has a basic but clean kitchen, a bar and a pool, as well as events almost daily. That being said these events could use a little more organisation. There's a place just on the corner of the square that I recommend for breakfast (granada's grill).

Beautiful hostel and perfect location , however the staff wasn’t easy to work with. Check had to he done in person and in their app , and the app wasn’t working right. It’s frustrating after hours spend in a party chicken bus. The toilettes in dorm were dirty also. Also the food and drinks are overpriced. 110 cordoba for a local beer is crazy. Not the best Selina I stayed at

I had carelessly left my headphones under my pillow on accident before checking out. When I realized they were missing, I returned to speak with the front desk and they gave me a key so I could go look again. I saw that the entire room had been cleaned and no other guests were currently staying there. My headphones absolutely have had to been in there, otherwise they would still be connected to my phone. I then spoke with management about it and they essentially told me that they got “lost.” Very frustrated with the handling of this situation and expected more from a place as prestigious as Selina.

My family was so excited to go to this hotel, the front facade is great but, when you get into the rooms it's another story. It makes you feel like you are in a jail cell, no TV, metal lockers, it's absolutely terrible. I noticed this is a backpacker's heaven, rowdy drunk people returning to the hotel after 2am. I will not recommend this place for a family looking for an elegant place to stay.

  • 3/5 Maurice ten H. 1 year ago on Google
Location wise, this venue can't be triumphed. Overlooking the main square and beautiful restored cathedral, you get the sweet of Granada. Having said, be prepared for a more noisy experience during your stay. We stayed a few weekdays in a room with square view and you will flow with the city rhythm. It will get more crowdy during weekends. Just something to be aware of when you make your booking

It's very yuppie vibes, but it is what it is. Best thing about this place was the staff. Front desk staff absolutely fantastic. Such personable and lovely people

I'm glad I only stayed one night. I've stayed in many Selinas within in the Americas and this is the worst Selina experience I've had. The check-in process was incredibly slow (over a 30 min wait to check in a line of 3 people) and the dorm rooms were filthy. The bar staff was also not the most pleasant and welcoming. I did have a few positives of my stay. Mario from reception provided excellent customer service and provided lots of information about Granada and things to do in the city. I am a digital nomad and the coworking space was great. The internet was fast and there was plenty of seating and outlets throughout the space. Also, the hostel location is central to many bars, restaurants, and the central plaza. I noticed everytime I passed by reception, there was always a guest complaining about their stay or their check-in experience. I enjoy staying at Selinas, but I would definitely recommend that management invest in more support/training/resources for this location so that every guest leaves with a great experience. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this location for anyone staying in Granada. There are more economical and centrally located hostels available.

Happy hour drinks were good but we were very shocked to receive a tiny portion guacamole and stale chips for $270C. Totally over the top

We stayed for 4 nights at Selina hostel. The communal kitchen was filthy pretty much at anytime of the day. Our bathroom smelt bad and the shower was awful with really bad pressure and not really any hot water. Our bedroom and bathroom were not cleaned despite being there for 4 nights. The sheet on our bed didn’t fit so kept coming off meaning sleeping on the mattress itself. Our room was tiny! The wifi was rubbish- didn’t work. The whole hostel is shabby and worn down. They also don’t have readily available drinking water apart from by reception which was frequently empty, at night we couldn’t get any water. We wanted to do Masaya volcano independently and were asking for advice, we were told to go to the wrong bus station, there was also a lack of general information as Masaya volcano is tricky to do independently as you have to get a taxi to wait for you and you can’t walk up the road- would have been very useful to know this before arriving. Upside is the central location (although people would always be trying to sell you things at the entrance) and the building is aesthetically nice with a pool but definitely wouldn’t bother staying here we stayed at Oasis hostel in Granada and it was super nice, a much better option.

Movie place, a bit over rated. Great staff, location, and rooms too. Had a private room twice, hot water wasn’t really available so is the shower current. Too expensive for value.

  • 5/5 Thomas L. 1 year ago on Google
Great Hostel! Defintly will come back! Only downside I have to admit is the bar prices at Selina. Alcohol is not cheap at the bar. There are bars around the area that sell beer and hard liqpur for half the price Selina charges. Other than that it's an amazing place with a great view!

  • 5/5 Kevin T. 1 year ago on Google
I can not say enough good about Selina Granada. The location right across from the park is amazing, and the front porch is a great place to chill, hang out, and see all the action. The staff were always so helpful and in particular Tadeo was amazing and always around with a smile to help in any way needed.

Selina is a huge chain hostel that holds itself to higher standards than 99% of the hostels out there. Selina grenada has an excellent location, accommodating staff, beautiful layout, good prices and rooms that are comfy! The water went out briefly (its central America) and the staff had it fixed in 5 minutes! What's not to love.

  • 3/5 Jack C. 3 years ago on Google
The staff were amazing, but this Selina lacks the care that some of the others I’ve been to have. The common areas weren’t that clean, and the rooms were very bland. There are better options for the price point.

There was a bug in our room when we got there.. but it’s a city and that happens. The water was warm, or hot. But the A/C is amazing! The pool and pool table! The cinema room! The staff!! I mean, great time!! In the middle of Granada!! Just don’t let them try to pay more than $50 a night.

I have stayed at the Hotel Selina Granada for a week managing to enjoy the colonial city and enjoying a process of work and complete rest. The General Manager taught the Yoga sessions at 6:30 in the morning was surprising, this is a clear example of guaranteeing my care! Simply beautiful! ... The taquitos are the best! The experience invites me to return, I recommend this place for future visits, additionally it is in the center of everything and the team helps you to carry out the activities you plan.

Great hostal in the heart of Granada. It is located facing the historic central park, a few meters away from the best vigoron, the iconic Granada meal, and La Calzada, the center of bars and restaurants. The hostal itself is really pretty, well decorated and maintained, with multiple activity options and and a work coop in place

Friendly staff, clean and contemporary rooms, convenient communal kitchen & inviting pool area. They also have a library, game room and cinema with a projector. We’re looking forward to trying the restaurant and enjoying the chefs recipes!! The location is perfect for walking around and sightseeing. There are lots of restaurants nearby and the lake is just up the road. Our room has a balcony with a gorgeous view of the cathedral and park.

A great place to stay right next to the Central Park in Granada. I had a private room which shared a bathroom with only 3 other rooms. The room comfortable and stayed cool and dark until late in the morning. Nice for sleeping in. The staff was all great and there were fun activities offered most days.

By far the best place to spend a couple of nights when travelling to Granada! The staff is bubbly and really helpful. I think we experienced one of the best hospitality service at Selina in all of Nicaragua 🙌🏻 Definitely recommend with 5 stars!

Really hate that I’m giving this Selina 1 star, but had several issues during my stay. First of all, breakfast was included with my room, but in the morning, realised only 4 options on the breakfast menu are included, which is wrong, all breakfast options should be included, and if not, when you book you should be told about the breakfast situation. Secondly, was then charged for an orange juice for my first breakfast, and then on the last day, was told by another staff member that orange juice and coffee was included with the breakfast. And still haven’t been refunded for the orange juice I paid for. Thirdly, I don’t think bar staff should add tip for drinks, when all they did was pour an orange juice in front of me at the bar and hand it to me, as well as having two too jars on the bar counter. Also the bar manager was very very rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. Was also charged more for a day trip by reception staff, but I believe this was a genuine mistake, as the reception staff were very very friendly and helpful and were definitely the saving grace of this place. Again I hate to give Selina Granada such a bad review, as the reception staff were great, but everything else was terrible to poor.

Hostel has great facilities however there cocktail happy hour is a big scam. They offer 2 sangrias for the price for 1, which is on the menu for 130 cordoba. Once we wanted to pay the bartender (guy with the glasses who was very unfriendly and made way less good cocktails then the other friendly waiter) said the happy hour offer was 250 cordoba for 2 sangrias and he didn’t even wanted to commit the menu said otherwise.

Nice place. Main plaza. I showed up at 630am. They let me check in at that time. Not too common anywhere. . Really appreciated. Any criticism I could make not relevant. However for the benefit of readers, coffee refills are not free, even though I saw employees going for free coffee all the time. Maybe I am splitting hairs. My stay was wonderful. Restful after 6 days on the river by Caribe.

This place is great for Margaritas. If you order food plan to wait a very long time. There was a person outside yelling obscenities to a gentleman eating his lunch, staff and management should be more attentive to prevent or stop vagrants from harassing their guests.

Just a selina hostel. Big chain and not a hostel experience. I don't like the commercial cold experience of this hostel. Location is great, the not social experience is good when you wanna have me time. Rooms are small.

This is a cool place to stay. I love the culture of the place, when I arrived they organized a meet and greet with other travellers. Also, this hotel is located exactly in the centre of all the awesome things Granada has to offer. I recommend you consider staying here.

I stayed at this Selina for over three weeks and I'm so happy I did. It's such an incredible place in the heart of Granada. It's in the perfect location and everything is in walking distance. Close to bars, restaurants, 15 minute walk to the lake and there's a huge market nearby as well. The staff are so friendly and accommodating here and they truly want you to have the best experience. Mercedes, the Manager of this location is such a beautiful soul with amazing energy and she makes sure the events are fun and well organized for every guest. I even had a chance to get to know her outside of Selina and she truly is just a lovely person to be around. As a solo traveler, she made me feel safe and heard and made sure I had the best stay here. Another shout out to Cat, who's interning here. She's an amazing person with great energy and she showed me the best time in Granada and all of the cool spots! When I arrived I was a timid female solo traveler and Cat and Mercedes really brought me out of my shell and made sure I had the best time. I consider them both life long friends. The bartenders, reception and everyone else who works for this Selina are friendly, accommodating and just such good hearted people with amazing energy. I'm so glad I decided to stay as long as I did. Thanks for everything!

This is a great place to stay in Granada. Rooms are great value and the hostel has everything you need. The staff is highly competent and provides great service. From my previous experience Selina can be expensive for what you get, but the Granada one definitely delivered.

Just have been to the bar. Total rip-off. Paid C$220 for two Seltzer, while the current promo is C$100 for three units. Once I got the drinks I was told that they will close in three minutes. Smells like urine when you enter or leave, disgusting. If you want to have a good time, look for another place.

One of the worst selina i have stayed in. We got a private room, but the room was so small. Sink was leaking. No hot water. Overall a bad experience for the money they charged us. Also just like any other selina, their tour companies charge ridiculous amount of money

First time in a Selina. Location was amazing, right in front of the main square. The kitchen was super clean and big. The pool was amazing in hot-granada. The staff was very nice and helpful with anything we asked them. I would absolutely stay there again if I go back ! The free waking tour was GREAT, the tour guide was very nice and provided a lot of interesting facts + litchi which was delicious !

USA Traveler: My friend and I stayed in a few different places in Nicaragua and this is hands down the coolest and hipster-ish accommodations. We got a room that day. Room with a twin bunk bed and a night stand. The room was around 7 x 4.5 feet. Had A/C! Shared bathroom BUT only with one other room that was the same as ours so potentially share with two other people because you're given a key for your room and the bathroom. The restaurant and bar was great! The pool was great! The pool is inside the building but there's no ceiling so we enjoyed eating the stars and moon. The pool is slick on the bottom so be careful. We truly wish we could have stayed longer at this hotel. They offer a library, a cinema room, a spa, daily tours, a small shop, and bus rides to local cities. There was a nightly security guard and we were able to park directly out front and our car was fine. All the workers were nice. Cool and funky artwork throughout the building. Highly recommend!!!
