Great location and lots of activity on offer. Atmosphere was friendly. Breakfast is included in price. Staff were helpful and you can book onward transportation with them. However, our private room was quite small and got hot very easily. The mattress was quite worn as you can feel the springs when you lie on it. They could do with a mosquito net to cover the window in the door so it offers some privacy and also stops insects from flying whilst helping to get room cooler! The kitchen area to prepare you own food is very cramped and the dining area to the hammocks are packed in together so it doesn’t have a spacious feel to it! Feels like there is too much going on. We booked the sunset lava volcano tour with the hostel. This wasn’t a pleasant expérience. It’s also not a tour but just transportation provided by the hostel and their private driver. There were not enough seats in the van so we had to squeeze everyone in which was not comfortable - they should have known how many people can they provide transportation for . We also missed the sunset, and when we arrived the driver just let us out but didn’t explain anything to us - eg where we should walk first, where the lava viewing point was!

it is amazing what a difference makes with a personal fan at each dorm bed and privacy curtains; these small things made my stay. the staff were helpful and very friendly. I really appreciate the small touches: free breakfast, free filter water, free coffee/tea, access to adjust hostel extension with pool and quieter lounge area. they have unique events each night which makes a few days stay all the more enjoyable.

Really organised hostel with vegetarian food (falafels) and cheap (fairly weak)cocktails. Staff always available. Really central and does all the usual tours (volcano etc) plus has an activity every evening like free pasta dinner, pub crawl, games night etc

Great hostel & well looker after. Made some good friends here, was dreading doing my first time in shared dorms but everyone here was respectful of your space. Staff were super friendly and kept everywhere clean especially the toilets! Missing My time there already it was a great location, some amazing food around the area, a local shop & bank too.

Thank you very much! We had a wonderful time at Hostel Azul. The atmosphere is warm and the hostel is so beautiful that you want to stay there. We got to know the owner, who takes great care of his guests. We were very lucky to be able to stay in the suite and I have never slept so comfortably on my backpacking trip. We woke up in the morning with a view of Granada Cathedral, the pool is a dream, there is a delicious breakfast every day and various activities are offered in the evening. We took part in the Pasta Night and were treated to delicious food. All in all, I would recommend a stay at Hostel Azul to anyone!

I recently stayed at this incredible hostel called Hostel Azul and it exceeded all my expectations. The hostel boasts a stunning pool that was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Every evening was filled with exciting activities, from vibrant Salsa Nights to generous free pasta dinners—such an amazing touch! The rooms were beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is incredibly central, making it easy to access local attractions. However, what truly set this place apart was the warmth and friendliness of the owners and staff. They were always ready to assist with a smile, making me feel right at home. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a fantastic and memorable stay!

We loved our stay so much at Hostel Azul! The owners were the kindest people. Even the managers became our friends and were so much fun to spend time with! The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable! The pool was great to enjoy. The smoothies and breakfast options were great! I would recommend staying here to anyone! Thank you guys so much for a great stay. It was a 3 minute walk to the Central Park. They organized a kayak tour to the isletas de Granada which was a great experience. In addition, they organized a bar crawl which is every Saturday night and we had a great time meeting so many people during that! Hope to come back soon!

Great location. Cool layout of the hostel with some private rooms located across the road with the pool and additional kitchen for extra privacy. Tours can be organised directly from reception. Decent activities planned each day for people to get social.

Awesome! Best hostel in Nicaragua. Nice green outdoor area with hammocks. Free awesome breakfast, free welcome drink, free bike for 2 hrs. Perfect place to chill and hang around l. Most amazing staff that'll help you with everything. Everyday is a different activity to help you socializing and meet new people. You come as a guest and leave as a friend.

One of the best hostels that I've stayed at. The staff are super nice and caring, the breakfast is good, the staff cleans the hostel often, there is oil and good herbs in the kitchen, good hammocks, free tea and coffee all day etc. Because of the good location and the nice things that the hostel has to offer we had such a fun and comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great hostel to base yourself at in Granada. It’s a good size so there are enough people to chat to but not noisy at night when you want to sleep. The owner is lovely and very accomodating. The air conditioning is a dream in Nicaraguan heat!

Nice hostel. Breakfast was good and free pasta nights are a lot of fun! Only thing is that the bathrooms are smelling like some sort of acid and it is very uncomfortable to be in that smell.

Very nice clean and pleasant hostel with lots for free stuff! The free breakfast is very nice and changes from day to day. You also receive one free drink a day which is excellent! Besides more free stuff and the cleanliness, I really valued the nice staff. Manu and Maria speak excellent English and are always very helpful, friendly as well as professional. Would recommend this place to anyone coming to Granada on a budget!

We really enjoyed our stay here! For me, there was a huge downside that's there's no designated smoking zone, and by the time i woke up or gone to sleep, i could smell cigarettes, which I hate that smell. Besides that, we enjoyed

Great location, nice outdoor area to be able to meet others - the hammocks and seating were nice and chill. Also, there was a variety of activities offered and they helped arrange transportation for you. Laundry service too. Very clean. Our room was very very hot all day and at night where we felt really uncomfortable, the room was in a glass box which didn't help with the heat - the fan on the ceiling did not help at all and we were only given one other small fan. The breakfast was quite disappointing too. In the dorms they offered personal smaller fans but in the private rooms we did not have that option so it would have even helped a little to have that.

Emmanuel (I apologise if I misspell) and the team were fantastic. They were so helpful, nothing was a problem. You can do laundry, book inexpensive tours and there’s group activities every night. Easily the best place we have stayed so far. The beds and bathrooms are immaculately clean! The hostel is a five minute walk from everything. Just make sure you label all your food as it does tend to go missing- but even when this happened we got given free drinks as an apology. There really isn’t a bad thing to say about this hostel.

Perfect location, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the free breakfast every morning was delicious. Probably the best hostel I’ve experienced in Central America. Very clean and comfortable and lots of extras available eg pool pass, they organise social activities each night, laundry was done quickly for a good price and the volcán Masaya tour they offered was really great. Highly recommend

It's perfectly situated in the middle of the city, near the plaza, old town and loads of grocery stores. The people working there were always nice and helpful, the rooms were spacious, the pool was a nice help to cool off after a hot day and the breakfast was amazing everyday! Loved my stay here!:)

Amazing hostel with amazing staff and owners. Free mosquito nets, hammocks, good wifi, Nicaraguan dinners and activities each night gives everyone a chance to get to know each other and gives it almost a family vibe. You also get free access to a gym and pool. Fans on each bed are also appreciated in the hot climate of Granada!

Great place to stay. Comfy beds, friendly atmosphere, good hammocks, central location!! They also have activities like salsa classes you can take part in for free. They offer free breakfast which is tasty however far too small, only change I would make is bigger portions. But would definitely stay here again.

Relatively new hostel but these guys are doing a great job. Staff are super friendly. Courtyard in middle of rooms is a great spot to hang out and encourages people to socialise. Location just 5 minutes walk away from the main strip in Granada.

Staying in Hostel Azul was a great choice for my time in Granada!! The Hostel is central, calm and organized :) the owners are beyond friendly and really blend into the group, so it feels more like staying with friends. The location is great and central to a multiple things, further the breakfast is varying everyday - including options + the opportunity to make it vegan at any time - which is something you do not get in any hostel! The program provided is great too and the staff goes beyond to make everyone feel welcomed. Hostel Azul is a place with character which I recommend everyone to have a great time in Granada :)

Overall a very good hostel. Not overly large. Max 30ish people can stay. Small place. Nice little courtyard. Not big enough to be able to find a quite corner. We stayed in the only private with ensuite. Room was stuffy. Simple things need attention like damaged fans. Bad pillows etc. No Aircon in the hostel. The shared privates looked better. Staff were excellent which really made this a positive review. I would recommend overall.

Great hostel just in the centre of Granada! Rooms are very big and tidy with a patio in the middle as a common area! You can't find anything better at this price and the owner is amazing always very helpful looking after her guests!

Hostal Azul was a great place. The atmosphere was chill with with a nice group of travelers. The beds were comfy and the place was very clean. I stayed for 3 weeks, while learning Spanish, and didn't want to leave. I would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!

One of the best run hostels I've had the pleasure of experiencing. My only regret is not staying longer. Dario's establishment epitomizes what you want in a hostel: outgoing/welcoming staff, laid back attitude, encouraging welcoming environment for all persons to participate in, all the local (and honest) information in a pinch, and easy access to all of what the city (Granada) has to offer. The facilities are ideal for the price and sit snuggly a block from the city center with a genuine colonial facade. Wonderful for solo travelers or groups.

This hostel is home. If you are looking for a super clean place, with a breakfast that changes every day where you can always choose between two options cooked directly by Martita, free pasta night, free cocktail, lots of different activities every day, in the heart of granada, this hostel does for you. Here it is easy to meet other travelers in a chill and familiar mood. I’ve been here for two months and I loved this place. The staff is super nice and always ready to help you. There is also a restaurant with great vegan and vegetarian food and a bar !!! Thanks Hostel Azul, Thanks to Dario, Mar and all the staff for making me feel at home on the other side of the world.

Great Hostel in perfect location. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, we felt like at home. It’s a hostel where you can relax and socialize at the same time! We got great tips for activities and adventures in Granada and surrounding. The hostel rents out bikes (2 hrs for free) which was a great way of exploring Granada!! We enjoyed our time so much and would highly recommend it :)

This a nice hostel. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Private rooms are cozy. We didn't try the breakfast (although it was included), but I'm sure it was great. Location is unbeatable, in a safe area, and just a few steps away from the main Parque Central, bars, restaurants, the market, and more.
