5 stars doesn't do this place justice! The srvice and the food are exceptional. The cooking is simply superb. Wines are reasonable too. Basically get there early or book your table as we saw many diners turned away. This is highly recommended.

Great little restaurant! Friendly and warm welcome by the owner. The fried cod fish with caramelized onions was a gas! Then the pesto pasta did the trick marvelously too! Great wine selection as well. Just think about making a reservation a day ahead to get to try it.

Small place with a small, but great food selection. Host was very friendly and explained all the dishes. The sea food lasagna was excellent. Prices were on the low side compared with the other places I visited.

We are speechless. This is by far the best food we’ve ever had in Italy. The food is authentic and personal and the experience was outstanding! The husband gave us recommendations for wine pairing from appetiser to dessert and was very hospitable throughout and his wife ran the kitchen wonderfully. We will give this 6 out of 5 because it is the best food in La Spezia!

We managed to get a table at Osteria La Carabaccia on a last minute cancellation, and how lucky we were! It was the best meal and service we’ve had in Italy in our 3 weeks of being here. Our very kind server explained the entire menu — we had the capprun magro and tuna steak which were both fresh & delicious. Really cannot recommend this place enough. We’d advise booking as we even tried to return for a second night and sadly couldn’t get in, but we hope to be back one day! Thanks again 🦉

When you visit La Spezia, definitely go to this restaurant - We had an absolutely amazing time here! We were the first one in and the last one out because we could not stop enjoying their amazing food and very nice wine!! They serve some specialties from this area, which the host (the owner) explained to us. We chose the stuffed mussels and cappon magro as appetizers, codfish ravioli and black rice/risotto with creamy codfish as mains, semifreddo al limoncello and tiramisu with sweet wine as desserts. This was all amazing and very well priced. We will come back here when we visit La Spezia again!

First night it was fully booked so we tried go book for second night and we are so glad we booked. The food was amazing, the owner was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was beautiful. Everything was great! We spent relatively higher amount but it's because we ate 3 dishes and a bottle of wine per person. Normally the price range was quite good for the amount and quality. Tuna tartare was soo fresh and nice! Seafood plate was very simple but tasty. Purple gnocchis were the best, and semifreddo with limoncello was fingerlickingly good! My husband also got the wild boar which was also very tender and tasty. Kudos for the chef!

Absolutely amazing food!! We went here because of great reviews on Google - the first night they were fully booked out so we made a reservation for the next night. Wish we had come here earlier so we could come back for more! The food was exceptional! Very well priced and showcased local ingredients. Very tasty. It's a cosy restaurant and the owner was very welcoming.

The best meal we've had on our trip. The host explained things well and was lovely overall. Food was great. The grilled shrimp was extremely fresh and tasty. The codfish ravioli was excellent.

It’s a very cozy restaurant. The waiter was very friendly as well. We took the octopus with potatoes and olive salad and it was amazing! Very fresh and the perfect starter as well 🤩. We also ordered a pasta dish with pesto/basil, which is a specialty of the Ligurian region. You could taste it was definitely homemade, and not too heavy on the stomach. The main courses: grilled king prawns & beefsteak were also quite nice!

The owner welcomed us in. He was very kind and full of suggestions. Best food in Italy so far. Cozy place with limited amount of tables. Feels like the living room of your Italian grandmother.
