The experience is interesting. The waiter recommended us a starter consisting of typical napoletan food (several dishesfor 2 people), which was nice trying and the food was tasteful. For the main course I ordered pasta with oysters, that prooved to be too oily for my taste. The restaurant is big enough (although there are tables in the street and you have to be careful, because cars and motocycles are passing through), and crowded.

GET A RESERVATION! We did not have a reservation and were able to queue outside. We had to wait for about an hour to finally get a table. The wait although was worth it. The restaurant gets very busy, little english is spoken, but we got around. There was not menu given to us once inside, but they have it posted outside. We had “tasting” starter, which included a lot of the traditional neapolitan dishes in small portion sizes and seafood noodles as a second. We had a great time here and will happily come back, but with a reservation;)

Very authentic local family owned osteria with great atmosphere and really great food. Seafood antipasti, grilled calamari, seafood pasta are the best!!! House wine 5euro per bottle from house wine yard, what else do you need for great lunch or dinner. The place is situated in tourist area but you feel yourself like somewhere out of the city welcomed by a very nice Italian family!!! Many thanks! We will visit next time!!!

Such an incredible home cooking experience. This place is old school, the menu isn't really one where you order from, there's a conversation you have with your server and they just start building plates out to you and the plates DO NOT STOP! Beautiful experience, great staff and the food was unreal. Very well priced too for the quality!

Avoid this place! The food is ok but a dinner is also experience of time. When you are stressed to leave your table a soon as possible the food doesn’t taste anymore. Limoncello is only for Napoli

The restaurant seems to be always full. Therefore and due to the ratings on Google I expected better than I experienced. The staff is very professional everything goes quickly. Microwave on: Parmigiana de Melanzane - ready. The pasta was good: honest food for a good portion-price-rate - but not exceptional. I had the feeling that the staff was disappointed that we did not order the house Anti-Pasti. The table next to us was about to leave the restaurant as they felt not well-treated by the team. Maybe just bad luck. Try yourself.

Absolutely amazing food and amazing and friendly staffs !! 정말 맛있어요 Sicilian cod 는 꼭 시키세요 Seafood were fresh and delicious the manager(?) recommended Sicilian cod and it was the best dish I have ever had in Italy. The pasta was also very nice and I really hope to visit here again for my future holidays! (I want to try other dishes)

A must try while in town!! Making reservations is an absolute must as they are always booked for dinner every night. We stumbled on it by accident. What an experience! Food is some of the best I’ve had while in town. Def not your typical tourist trap places in the Main Street. Venture out and get to this location. You won’t regret it! Best food hands down!

I dined in at 19:00 without a reservation.but it might be hard to find a table around 20:00-21:00. A small but nice atmosphere restaurant. Waiters are very friendly and totally present the napoli culture. I tried some of dishes I chose. But i think you also have a tasting menu. They have handmade wine for 2 euro and it has a really good quality. They also have handmade limoncello which was the highlight of the table :) they serve the limoncello in a cold prepared little glass. I suggest shrimp and napolian broccoli strongly.

We came because of the good reviews. The place is near a very busy shopping street and the atmosphere is great there!. We ordered spaghetti with sea food and spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, both were very tasty (I didn’t taste a bad pasta here in Italy) and they arrived in a reasonable time. However, the waiter was a bot rude and had a loud voice. When we asked him if they have regular spaghetti with tomato sauce l, he just didn’t listen and kept saying “No, it’s cherry tomatoes!”

I came alone on a Sunday night and was lucky enough to get a table! I still had to wait 20-30 minutes, but the time passed slowly with a glass of wine on the house and some local snacks. I ordered the mixed marinated fish plate and the house gnocchi - both blew me away! Can't wait to come back here and try more dishes!

House wine was great, red and white. €7 a bottle!! Selections of starters were delicious (eggplant Parmesan 10/10) Stick to the classics for your main dish, pasta only, meat dishes are cheap and weak. I’m deducting a star for how much they rush you, maybe it’s authentic but not everyone likes to dine in super speed mode. 6.5/10

The food is really nice and tasty. In our case we took some fritter seafood and the Risotto of seafood (it was amazing btw). The staff is super friendly and attentive to everyone. Definitely recommended to any visitors around Naples.

We were looking forward to this restaurant and booked it in advance but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it. The food is good but we felt so rushed to finish it that we didn’t have time to enjoy it. In less the 50min we finished 2 courses and left the restaurant, and not by choice. For starter we had waiters recommendation. While we were eating they tried taking plates away whether they had food on in or not. We haven’t finished and the mains arrived and they took our plates. Also, the price for the starter said €10 but later we saw we were charged €30, meaning €10per head. This was not written on the menu and it is not the option we wanted to go for. Our main were good but again, while I was still eating I was being offered dessert and my plate was taken while I was eating my last bite. The food is delicious but if you want to be able to enjoy it you will have to fight with the waiters for the time.

A very strange dining experience where the service crew ignores us for our requests e.g menu, displays arrogant behaviour, borderlining racism at most times towards me and my wife. The Italian and English menu had clearly different prices for the same item dishes. We obviously know because we know Italian. What a joke. Asian tourists, you have been warned.

This is a fantastic osteria in Napoli. The service and food are both excellent. It is a great place for authentic Italian food in a laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed the seafood appetizer for two.

Super authentic, high vibe, noisy in a good way … food was great; make sure to take “house starter” a great collection for 10ero, sea food paste, house wine …. fast and welcoming service; make sure to make reservations

Lovely little place in the Spanish Quarter, the service was fast and very good. I had a tuna salad, it was good but not something special. For the price it was ok.

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in. Great service....lovely staff....and the food is amazing. Great prices which shouldn't fool you as the food is 5star quality and big portions. I recommend the Antipasti which was 7/8 plates of different food/flavours. We were there last night for dinner and will be going back again tonight to try some other dishes. Do not leave Nápoles without going here. You will not be disappointed ☺️☺️☺️

Osteria il Gobbetto is a must experience in Naples. The food was perfect (you need to get the appetiser range they offer). The service was excellent. Plus, it was the most reasonably priced menu in our entire Italy trip. Highly recommend.

Local haunt, local prices, delicious. I think we were the only Americans in the restaurant which was packed. While u wait the owner serves white wine. We let him order for us, started with small plates of assorted items veggies, mussels, caprese, bruschetta, shrimp. Of course seafood rules the day. The tiny marinated zucchini? antipasta was devine. If you are tired of tourist traps settle in here.

Sunday lunch, wandered in and got a table for two. Took the house recommendations, house speciality starter to share. Wow! A lot of dishes, all fantastic. Followed with spaghetti n clams for him and gnocchi n zucchini for her. Absolutely beautiful. Great atmosphere, loud at times but fun. Very well priced. Highly recommend.

Very good food and reasonably priced. You pay 8 euros per heads for antipasti. You get a large array (about 8 different ones) of different regional antipasti which are all delicious. The pasta and mains are also very reasonably priced. You can get a really good fish main for less than 10 euros. The bottle of house wine costs only 5 euros. Just you plain normal wine from Campania (which is not my favourite type, as it is too mineral to my taste) but not a bad wine overall. Staff a bit clumsy but definitely very friendly. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. Because of the delicious food and amazing prices I'm giving it a 5.

Very good service, super tasty, typically italian and very quick! Also the prices are super reasonable and you get a lot for your money: maybe the best restaurant we went to in Naples so far! We were lucky and directly got a table without a reservation, then got the amazing antipasti of the house (if you go there its a must!), main dish and a dessert - all of it amazing! Thank you a lot it was amazing- the food, the staff, the place, the whole experience

We had a great lunch, the restaurant was lovely and cool, the staff happy and helpful The house appetisers were a fantastic starter, a selection of lots of dishes all really good. We had pasta and grilled Sword fish for after, and a glass of wine at 2 euros...You had better arrive hungry !

When you are seated the waiter directly recommends you a dish and to me it seemed a bit pushy.(we were asked two times) Our pasta was good. Although this restaurant is somehow chaotic and I personally felt a bit rushed. It was also crowded. I liked the food, but I had not a relaxing experience. I think in a bit it summarizes Naples as it is chaotic, fast, loud, but also likeable. For me personally it was too rushed if you want to have a dinner.

Wonderful meal at Osteria Il Gobbetto. Service was friendly and fast. Perhaps just a little bit ‘pushy’ to clear tables for the next folks in line but understandable with the Michelin rating. While offered the antipasto platter we did not feel “pressured” to order it. I said “no grazie” and ordered the marinated anchovies as planned (delicious). The spaghetti alle vongole was AMAZING. House wine for €5. Total of €35 for appetizer, two entrees, bread, cover, bottle of wine, and tip. All in all a great experience. We arrived at 1930 and had zero problem being seated right away.

found this place via Google Maps and Tripadvisor, because I usually like to do my homework and walk in the streets prepared for needed options. This time the possible nees was for dinner. We came just in time of the opening (19.00), we didn't have any reservation, but they found us a table for 5 and looked very happy to host us. We vad 2 littlw children with us - they were tired and loud. Thankfully, in a true italian resaurant it's never a problem, because all the guests tend to be loud. The restaurant filled quikly. The staff was eager to recommend the food and we didn't mind. We had a selection of all the antipasti (they were delicious, and although there were like 8 plates, it was a little bit of wverything to taste, but not too much to not be able to continue to the next courses). For the main course we took pasta with seafood (2 portions to share for 3 grownups). And although we were not planning on having dessert we still ended up orderind a creme brulee and a panna cotta. They were both very good! Creme brulee had this wonderdul rustic feeling (very crunchy top and smooth cream inside). But I would recommend the panna cotta for its structure and the tender sourness. The house wine was only 6€ a bottle! We felt very welcomed and had a great time! Also, being a mom of 2 little children I always aprecciate if the staff makes my evening a little easier! Thank you!!!

Excellent traditional Michelin recommended restaurant. However could avoid the feeling there are many others even better that didn’t get this PR. The food was good, didn’t notice any exceptions. The price is more than fair.

Great experience! Amazing food, I had linguine with seafood and they served a nicely cooked abundant dish. The place is simple but nice, there was air conditioning that's a blessing during the summer. Family run business, everyone is so friendly.

Great place and food, the place was very busy but the staff was still friendly and the food was delicious we had caprese salad, ricotta pasta and rum baba and full bottle of wine - everything was tasty and affordable

This is definitely a small gem. Great food at fair prices. We had a superb Sicilian cod and a Swordfish Messina which had a rich flavor, and ended the meal with a berries panna cotta - the best I’ve had. Even the pane was wonderful, I usually skip it but here I ate a whole bag! The service was super friendly and I loved the atmosphere. The waiter packed the left pane and fish up for us, which I never experienced at any other restaurant in Italy. Would love to come here again when I come to Napoli next time!

I really liked the environment, the owner and the restaurant staff and the service. The food is incredibly tasty, the wine is good, and the price per person is about 20-23 eur including wine, 10 starters, the main course.

We arrived at 7:30pm on Friday and there was only one other couple dining there, so at first we felt a bit worried that this place was not good. Our server recommended using several times to try this appetizer, but we said no because we weren't super hungry. We ordered seafood linguini which was incredible, I don't even like seafood, but the shrimps were very good and the pasta so buttery and amazing. I ordered swordfish which had a good flavor but a little tough, but I think that is characteristic of swordfish. I would get the cod if I ever came again. Our server asked if I wanted veggies on the side, I accepted without knowing that it cost extra. In the end though, the meal was very fairly priced and good.

One of the best experiences we had in napoli! From the start the service is very nice , we ordered appetizers, and there were alot of them! Everything is very well done and tasty! Main courses we have taken pasta and sausage - it was perfect!! Everything was very tasty. But the dessert, is worth soping for, I'm a fun of this type of cakes and honestly it's one of the best I had around the world! You must stop here.

It was worth the wait and the Q, Very tasty food- everything was perfect (mussels, anchovies, linguine etc), nice place, friendly staff with humour!

  • 4/5 Jessica R. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious food, extremely good value. The only downside is the service feels quite rushed, we visited Saturday night and they were busy so we could tell they wanted our table asap. It didn't spoil our meal though we were all happy with the food. Edit. My pasta portion was small compared to other pictures on here!

We waited outside for a table with a glass of wine (free). The quality was ok and quite affordable but we weren’t amazed by the food itself
