A beautiful structure built on a dark history. Before the construction of what you see today, this location was riddled with trash, houses of ill repute, seedy taverns and crimes of all kinds were committed here. The hygienic situation was so horrific that between 1835 and 1884 there were nine cholera epidemics in this area. Finally, the decision was made to remove and replace the remaining buildings to create the structure seen today, which was inaugurated in 1890. The floors and entire glass roof was replaced due to severe damage from the war, and sadly a young boy was killed here in 2014 as part of the ledge of the gallery rose window’s collapsed. Absolutely worth visiting and admiring while in Naples, it was an absolute highlight for us.

Very cool galleria near the Naples Port with many different options of restaurants, cafes, gelato spots, shops, etc. All walking distance to the towns center and many other plazas. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

If there must be malls in the world then they should all look like this. Basically a 19th century street intersection that has been turned into shops and roofed with a steel and glass vault and dome. A gorgeous roofed shopping mall.

Galleria Umberto impresses with its beautiful architecture, drawing attention and admiration. However, the limited number of shops and their overall quality fell short of expectations. The absence of high-quality establishments undermined the place’s appeal. To truly become a tourism attraction, Galleria Umberto needs to attract a wider variety of prestigious shops, maximizing its potential and transforming it into a bustling hub that captivates both locals and tourists.

Magnificent building. I sat in a cafe inside the gallery to admire the moldures of the walls and the dome. None column or design is equal to the others. It’s an authentic piece of art. I payed $3.50 for an Americano lungo coffee, and I stayed comfortably sitting there for a long while. The gallery is a shopping area. Right in front it’s the San Carlo Opera House.

An astonishing and breathtaking gallery in a beautiful setting. At its center, it houses a dazzling array of artworks, while along its length, you'll find charming shops and cozy cafes.

It is a very beautiful portico at the southern end of Via Toledo located between the main street of the city and the San Carlo theater. It consists of two long corridors intersecting at right angles between buildings of excellent architecture, and there are exits in each direction. On its roof there is a metal structure, decorated with lamps. On the ground floor there are mainly shops, but also cafes and restaurants. The remaining floors are residential or business offices and the entrance to these floors is prohibited.

The shopping and dining here is definitely not high end and I wouldn’t even think it’s impressive, do not expect Milan standards. The coffee places are cosy and chill tho, it’s especially nice in the morning to just have breakfast at the galleria with zero crowd. The architecture and the overall building is very nicely done, but it doesn’t feel like it’s super well maintained, with the fading and dirty looking facade.

Thia crazy beautiful building with incomparable Italian architecture, this incredibly shiny place was built at the end of the 19th century. Entering this space, you will feel a cultural, pleasant shock. You must see this grandiose brilliance with your own eyes. And don't forget to look up, up and up again.

One of the biggest galleries and second oldest in Italy. Much improved over the last few years. Still some work to do but it really is a stunning place. Amazing bakery at the Via Roma entrance. Shame about the McDonalds a bit further in. A good selection of shops, you feel good just walking in.

Expected to see a museum, but it was an old historic building that had become a mall. In some ways, it was lovely which there was chance to chill or eat inside such a place without any extra charge. Not interested in malls and shopping, but if you are with family, good place to spend some times.

During our short stay in Naples we walked through the Galleria. Beautiful architecture. It contains little shops and a beautiful central area.

Spectacular! The glory of the historical building. We came over there to experience such a great feeling of standing under the middle dorm and turning our bodies around to get dizziness! 😆 Just like a child! It’s a Luxury space but visitors can have some good stuffs in general prices. The main purpose is to get impressive!

This is like a replica of the one in Milan, but with less high class stores. Can’t believe there is a McDonalds in here! Can’t stand the amount of smokers within this establishment.

Beautiful spot to just admire the grand ceilings, grab a Cafe or dessert. Fun just to see what's happening around you.

Galleria Umberto, just off via Toledo, is an incredible work of ancient art, with it's glass adorned dome, large marble flooring, with 4 entrances and a moltitude of eateries, fashion boutiques and souvenir shops. It is also a major stage for wedding photos, where you can be guaranteed to witness an array of brides and photographers on a daily basis. It is easily reachable via subway ( Metro) at via Toledo, or by funicolare centrale (cable car) in the same via Toledo. An absolute must visit when in Naples Italy. It is always open, and ample space facilitates wheelchair access.

The building is magnificent and worth a visit, you don’t need to stay long and once you have head off towards Piazza del Plebiscite.

This was the last part of our guided tour. It was raining outside so it was great to be inside this beautiful building. It is a must see!

During our short stay in Naples as part of free time on our tour, we walked through the Galleria. Beautiful architecture. It contains many high end shops, downplayed by a few fast food places. It's arranged in the shape of a cross, with 4 entrances and a beautiful central area, highlighted by its floor and ceiling. A great place to visit and see a classic Napoli building. It's open to the public, in essence a shopping mall, no admission is needed.

Our trip to Naples was planned around this landmark. Built in the Art Nouveau style, the Galleria is a light and airy structure of glass and steel. It is built in the shape of a cross, with four wings leading from the central area. This gives it the the feeling of a cathedral, soaring upwards to a vaulted glass ceiling and a vast dome at the centre.

Such a beautiful building with many different shops and restaurants. The architecture alone is worth the walk through. We particularly enjoyed a small shop full of unique glass art.

Beautiful galleria with some cafes and shops inside. It’s usually very busy and crowded. However there are a lot of space and people come and go. The interiors are simply incredible - one can observe every detail for hours.

A must visit if in town. Gorgeous. Shame about the McDonald’s, ripe for an Apple Store.

Really doesn't feel like a shopping precinct. Breathtaking space, perfect for a coffee and cake break during a walk around the city.

Beautiful, spacious shopping arcade built between 1887 and 1891, damaged during WW2, and rebuilt after years of decaying. Truly magnificent architecture, mosaic floors, sculptures and murals, but not many shops opened.

Beautiful architecture and very clean building however they aren’t many shops open in here anymore. Again what I find with a lot of beautiful buildings and landmarks it’s covered with scaffolding and netting.
