It's a beautiful boutique hotel in a good location. We chose this hotel as the rooms were quiet when compared to other hotel reviews and the high level of street noise. Our standard double was very comfortable but being a corner room meant that you walked in from the corridor into the bathroom which is a bit odd and the air conditioning unit was placed in such a way that didn't really benefit the room. Having the balcony and windows was lovely but once the windows are shut the room is completely soundproofed and almost too quiet which equally made sleeping difficult. Breakfast is not included, you have to buy a token to use at the restaurant next door. Free Happy Hour and nibbles within the hotel are a nice touch and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The decor throughout is lovely and as you would expect of a boutique hotel and the coffee machine in the room was a nice touch, but then there would be odd disappointing touches like no tea bags.. just coffee! No box of tissues so you have to use the thin toilet paper provided to blow your nose! The light in the toilet is sensor controlled so if you want to tiptoe in and have a wee in the night in the dark... you can't!!! The light comes on and wakes everyone up! So it was very nice but just not nice enough that I would want to return.

Great location in central Barcelona. The happy hour from 6-8pm includes free wine but many times we had to go downstairs to remind host to refill empty bottles. Rooms were clean and modern but AC could have been better - it seemed like settings on thermostat did not respond to input. Overall nice and comfortable hotel in a great location with a good value for the $.

The hotel is in a great central location. The rooms are spacious and quiet. They have a nice lounge with a happy hour which we enjoyed but they need to put out an adequate amount for all the guests. Also, the water temperature is not hot enough for a comfortable shower . Good experience, but could be improved.

It's a functional hotel in a convenient part of town, but very little is pleasant or comfortable here. Liked: - Pleasant entrance - Not too expensive - Polite, cheerful and helpful staff Disliked: - The hotel is 2 stars even though Booking.com says 3. A lot of my expectations were not met due to that (worth reading through in detail exactly what you do / don't get). - There was a group of people on a worktrip who monopolised the common area, having meetings and holding Zoom calls (5 -7 people in total) making the lounge area unusable. - Every time I took a shower, water would leak out and would flood the room (admittedly, I didn't complain as didn't have the time or energy). Fruit-flies in the room. Small damage on the walls made it look shoddy. - The balcony is of a good size, but it's a horrendous view with no privacy and not somewhere you would want to spend time on. No real seating, no breakfast (as I thought this was a 3-star hotel I thought it would have been included and didn't check more carefully).

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Essens Hotel. The hotel is set back from the road making is a quieter stay for a hotel in a large city. The hotel is clean, offers coffee and a wine "happy hour". The room was clean and spacious for the two of us. We did get a room with an outdoor "patio" space with a large tiled tub, chairs and small table. The location is perfect for the main tourist shopping an eating area. It is convenient to other areas within the city by cab, metro or walking. The staff was kind and helpful. The curly haired young man whose name we did not get was especially helpful at check-in and with other inquiries when he was around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider this location of others within the concept in the future.

We had an amazing trip to Barcelona and the hotel service made the experience that much better. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was perfect and cleaned daily by a very friendly cleaner. Overall this hotel was a joy to be in with the lounge area and roof terrace too, which gave us the extra space to relax and really enjoy ourselves. Thank you for a great time!

I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are perfectly designed, large and comfortable. The beds are great, and the pillows (you have a selection), and the shower, and the isolation from noise from the crowded street below is perfect. I should also note the professional and friendly staff. In short, perfect.

We lodged here for two days at the beginning of our vacation to Spain. The location is wonderful and close to some highly touted attractions as well as a few minute walk from the Passeig de Gracia metro station. The staff was welcoming, and even upgraded our room. We arrived a few hours before normal check-in from our flight, and we were able to check-in early and it was a lifesaver. The receptionist offered us her favorite food recommendations and we ate at two of the suggested places, both of which were fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Barcelona.

Location is excellent. Good walking location and also good connections to public transit. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We had a room facing the busy shopping street but the soundproofing was excellent and the room was super quiet. Comfy bed and nice lighting in the room. Only minor complaint is the bathroom is showing some wear and tear, especially the shower door which leaked.

I had a great experience staying at the hotel. Added bonus that the check out is at noon, usually is at eleven whichhelped us to organize better our last day in Barcelona. I called reception from my room and they didn't pick up, they called me back in a few minutes indicating they were with a client and apologized. I really liked that they called back, explained what happened and apologized. Room was super clean, bed is huge and there are lot of small details (sleepers, body lotion, coffee machine) which make it special. Location is 10 out of 10, staff was very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely come back and recommend it to my friends.

Very clean, private and charming. We arrived here a few days before our cruise and it was lovely. The staff was accomodating, keeping our bags until check in while we explored the city. They answered all our questions and offered great recommendations. Happy hour was a nice bonus and we were also happy we booked a room with a shower and bath on the balcony (of course there is an side shower as well).

This hotel was fabulous. The rooms were beautiful, the beds are huge. We enjoyed free wine at happy hour each evening. There are several good restaurants right outside the front door. Walking distance to the attractions. Highly recommended!

Loved this contemporary boutique hotel. Great location, lots of great bars and restaurants nearby plus easy walk to underground. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were lovely, giving great recommendations for local restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, you won't get a great view as it's down a side street. Clean, big comfy bed and the bath outside was lovely. Take some tea bags if you want tea in your room 🙂

Perfect location for getting around Barcelona by tour bus, taxi, metro, or on foot. On a beautiful tree lined boulevard amid high end shopping, tapas restaurants and famous homes. Staff is very helpful towards foreign, non-Spanish speaking guests. Rooms are small but with all needed amenities, good beds and shower. The 10 Euro breakfast option at Oassis purchased at the hotel is a very good deal. We had no issues with beggars or pickpockets but we might just have been lucky! After all, it's Barcelona!

Great location, close to everything. Nice little terrace but no views. The bathroom has a light connected to a movement detector so if you go at 3am the light goes on !? Why not a simple switch that you can decide to turn on or not ?

A fantastic hotel, and a perfect base from which to explore Barcelona for the first time (for me at least, my partner has been before but agreed that the hotel was excellent!) Lovely and quiet rooms despite the convenient central location, hardly any noise from other guests either, and the great A/C was also much appreciated and helped us escape the July heat. Praktik Èssens is also great value for money and the service really sets it apart. The staff were always wonderful and very accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay again.

Had a wonderful stay in this hotel, when entering the lobby you will smell the wonders of the essens, it’s a very cute boutique hotel, with friendly staff, very helpful and kind. The hotel is situated right in the city center but with very soundproof windows! Very large and comfortable bed, showers are very good too! Coffee lounge corner is very convenient, will definitely stay here again when back in BCN!

Modern stylish hotel tucked away off the Passeig de Gràcia. Large modern rooms with Parquet. We had a room for 3 with ample space. Very nice personnel with solutions for parking and breakfast. Happy hour daily from 18:00-20:00. Parking in nearby Sana parking. Hotel can exchange your ticket for another which is cheaper and allows to leave/enter as you like. No breakfast in hotel but Oasis nearby opens at 08:00.

Wow! This place is amazing! Splurge and get the room with private terrace and outdoor tub it’s well worth it. Beautiful boutique hotel is well situated, very convenient location, a true hidden gem in the city. Beds and pillows extremely comfortable and amazing staff! The room has a great layout, lots of natural light and very modern finishes. Perfect place to stay.

The hotel is centrally located and perfect for anyone wanting to explore Barcelona. Its size (32 rooms) is great as there won’t be a large crowd. The rooms were very clean, well equipped and perfect for a family. One of our rooms didn’t have hot water in the shower and they couldn’t fix it during the four nights so they gave us a discount to the room rate. They offered to change our rooms but because we had four rooms, being separated from the kids was not possible. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced boutique hotel in Barcelona.

This hotel is great. It's perfect for stays in Barcelona if you are going to be out a lot. It's good value. Rooms are small, but modern and very clean. It's a nice place to come and relax after a long day. The common area is great too. Free drinks and snacks in the evenings. The location really makes this hotel even better. It's on Passeig de Graçia, so lots to do close by. Staff are super professional and helpful. Only nice to haves I would add is a fridge in the room. We missed that on our 4 day stay. Would highly recommend city facing rooms.

Top quality hotel, with a gorgeous room with a lovely private outside terrace on the fifth floor. The outside bath tub was a treat. Brilliant location for eating shopping and seeing the busiest areas. . Wonderful and helpful staff who were very welcoming. Very peaceful ambience to the whole place. Really liked that it's tucked away down a little alleyway. The only addition I would have liked was a mini fridge to keep drinks cold but we did survive without and don't want to distract from what is a really really good hotel.

The location is perfect in middle of centerum ,it gives you acess to every major touristic destination .The detail for cleaniness at par level , whenever you comeback from to room it's cleaner at exceptional level . Front staff is kind as well .I am definitely coming to stay to this place

Dynamic pricing at its best. A hotel with room rates of around 150-250 EUR per night costs suddenly 369.- when we wanted to prolong our stay for one additional night. On a Sunday during Easter…guests have to understand that because it is just normal course of business to rip off tourists when there is the possibity to do so. We cancelled our entire stay there and booked a different hotel.

Great Boutique hotel. Fantastic location (but was very quiet in the room), good breakfast options. The room and the bathroom were really spacies and comfortable + large bed and two sinks. Helpful and nice staff. Highly recommended. P.S.a small refrigerator or a mini bar would be nice to have in a room and a toilet brush ;)

Everything was great, from the moment we stepped into the hotel until we left. Kind staff, clean and spacious room, comfortable bed. The hotel is very well located, right at the heart of Barcelona. There are tons of bars, restaurants, shops and public transport close by. Despite the fact that the hotel is located in a busy area, it is very quiet! We didn't hear a noise from the outside or from the inside. We couldn't be happier!

Amazing hotel. Cosy, ideally clean, friendly, quiet, smells good. The lounge area feels more like home rather than hotel. The location is right at the city centre close to everything. Free coffee and complimentary glass of wine every evening. Definitely would stay there again

I found this hotel ideal: location is great (5 min walk from Plaza Catalunya), it’s simple and elegant, rooms are clean and gentle to the eye , earthy and neutral colours, wooden floors and air conditioning. I personally did not hear any noise from the main road, probably because the hotel is not facing it which is actually ideal (at least for me). It’s a 2 star hotel but it should be at least a 3 star: it’s spotless clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. What you will notice is that it’s a place designed around fragrances, even on the stairs you have stations with open bottles that diffuse different scents depending on where you are..original and definitely pleasant. This hotel is also 5 min walking distance from one of the best restaurants in town called VINITUS (check my reviews if interested). You can walk to the old town in about 20 min and in 30-35 you are on the beach in Barceloneta. La Rabla is 5-10 min away. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it’s simply perfect!

Here we've had the perfect stay for our vacation. Very professional nice and friendly staff ready to help if needed. The room and all the facilities were cleaned and disinfected all the time. The location is superb with a lot of transport links around. We used premium room with a terrace, and it was very relaxing to use the heated outdoor bathtub on a 25 sq. m. terrace after a long and tiring day. Finally, I can say that for sure I will recommend the hotel to my friends and colleagues and will try to stay at it again on my next visit to Barcelona.

Everybody in the Hotel is really kind, friendly and helpful. Further, the design of the Hotel is really nice and everything seems to be very authentic. Unfortunately, the most important thing in the Hotel is not fulfilled: The Mattresses of the Hotel felt like being of low quality and used. After talking to the receptionist, we were advised that the Hotel is busy and a change of the mattresses or the room was not possible. The Hotel definitely has to change the mattresses or increase the quality. We stayed with a group of people in different rooms for three nights and all didn’t find the sleep and relax, we were looking for to discover the beauty of Barcelona. If the beds/mattresses stay like this, I would not recommend to stay in the Hotel and definitely won’t return again.

Cute boutique hotel in the middle of Barcelona. Staff and interior is great. Very quiet and private. We took the room with terrace (and outdoor bath) just because of it. It was a great experience although we did not have a proper sofa only metal chairs and the mentioned pool was always on the shade. The contained room standards were neat, it included gown and slippers. I would go back!
