Impressive. It's located in the city center, a few blocks from the train station. This cathedral is dedicated to John Baptist. It is embelished by the works of important artists such as Arcimboldo, Borroni and Legnarino. The façade is made of two toned marble. There is an excellent museum on the side of the Duomo.

Beautiful cathedral! I loved the colors it has. Black and white makes it unique, I don't know why those colors are there but I was captivated by admiring that beautiful marble facade. I don’t have much time to know more about this city but I hope in other time.

Very undervalued church. We enjoyed it inside and outside. 😍 Of course, we suggested no to go inside during the ceremonies to take picture.

Pretty, The Dumont & the old town BUT as a solo female traveler… Monza is a lil sketchy! The old town is pretty/touristic the Duomo is pretty, I took the train there… lots of graffiti etc … got out of dodge quite quickly!! Wasn’t dangerous, just sketchy.

One of the most harmonic architecture I have ever seen. Facade impresses you with clearness and finalizeness in each line. Two-color solution is extremely stylish and reminds of Tuscany architecture traditions though with a pinch of Lombardian medieval decorative taste. Interior is from much newer ages but it doesn't interfere with the overall perception: it is peaceful and revered shrine, we were lucky to see the preparations for a wedding ceremony, it made this place even more charming. There is an important chapel to the left of the high altar - Theodelinda Chapel dedicated to the early medieval queen of Lombards who, is believed, commissioned this basilica and gave a beginning to the prosperity of Monza. The chapel is decorated with frescoes of Zavattari and is the place where the Iron Crown of Italian kings is stored. To visit the chapel you should ask for it on the museum desk (entrance is from the church just to the left of the chapel or from the street). Ah, yes, a peacock-lectern is splendid though in my case the choir of wedding singers stood around so I can't eximine its nice decorations but I enjoyed the singing much more to be honest.

Story of Teodolinda is a reminder that blondes have more fun (she buried two husbands) and more power (why does she and so many others depicted in the chapel have blonde hair?)

Amazing museum with the most welcoming guides, ready to show you the most important item in Lombardia and probably in that part of Europe - famous Crown of Constantine The Great and Holly Roman German Emperors. Absolutely must see in Monza.

A cathedral with a spectacular facade. But don't miss the interior: the richness and beauty of the works of art is truly remarkable. In my opinion I would make the works of art stand out in more light

Such a wonderful looking facade, very different to most churches. You can get here easily from the shopping street.

Oh my... this is somewhere to visit. The art work is top notch. The outside is deceptive as it looks rather ordinary, but step inside and you will be amazed! One of the prettiest interiors I've seen. And I've seen a few hundred cathedrals over the years. Pretty close to the famous Monza race track, home of the Italian F1

Stunningly beautiful! The interior is even more magnificent than the exterior. Make sure to get a tour including the Iron Crown, if possible. Amazing history and artwork in the crown's chapel.

A precious gem. The Gothic facade rivals any Tuscan church. Recently reataueed it can now be admired in all its beauty.

A very beauriful church in the city of Monza. The outside of the church was under construction but the inside is still very much worth it.
