Wow!! What a theater. I'm not a fan of operas, but if I wanted to see one, this is the place I want to see it in. Everything looks and feels majestic, and you can understand how this place became such a renowned opera house. The museum was very nice, and very informative. We didn't get a guided tour, and I don't think you need to. They have touch screens on almost every piece of art, that explains what it is. The price is totally worth it.

A beautiful and historic theater house that's still in use today. The who's who of Italy have graced this venue! The tickets I purchased directly through the website were very reasonably priced. They included viewing the plush red and golden theater from box seats and a self guided tour of the museum. The museum has tons of memorabilia from plays and concerts over hundreds of years! The venue itself is gorgeous! It's definitely worth a visit while in Milano!

Very beautiful theatre, I didnโ€™t see any shows here but I visited during the day to check it out. Was very beautiful, very authentic atmosphere. It has a classic look and feel to the old style theatre buildings. Would love to see a performance here, I would definitely recommend checking it out if youโ€™re into architecture and music.

Nice Opera house. Friendly service. Good chairs! Very good Opera! Book well in advance for best seats. A bit hard to know what seat you actually buy. Recommend to instead of ordering drinks inside the opera, to walk outside during intermission to the neighbouring restaurant, serving champagne and suitable intermission food.

Wow... La Scala made an incredible impression on me, it is considered one of the best opera stages in the world. There is also a museum with a rich collection of costumes and musical instruments, as well as a gallery of portraits and busts dedicated to great musicians.

Outside it looks like a nice old building but it is deceiving. Inside it is marvelous and majestic. If you do not have the chance to view a performance (or it happens to be too expensive as they usually are) you can still view it as a museum and receive a tour.

Very interesting and beautiful. Friendly staff. When we went there was an interview going on so we had to wait 30 minutes before viewing the actual theatre stage area, but it was worth it.

Amazing performance! Tickets were easy to come by, and not too expensive. The box office is to the left of the main entrance, you register yourself at a terminal at the top of the stairs, go downstairs to the box office, and the clerks speak a variety of languages and are very helpful and friendly. We spent โ‚ฌ300 for 2 front row box seats, 2nd level. Simply amazing! If you appreciate the arts, take the time and go and see a show!

There are these moments in life just you were told about a place but you never really payed attention till you finally make it there and you are so surprised and thankful that you made it. Scala of Milano is one of these moments ๐Ÿ˜ My excitement was so great by the theater itself and the history of course. A very important part of Milano and Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น So delightful to visit it. Looking forward to watch a show next time:)

I love the quality of the performance, a lot of work put in, incredible outcomes. The reason for 4 star is the gallery front row leg room for someone like me being 6foot tall is impossible to sit without taking up the width if 1.5 seats. I also suggest you rather take the 10 euro seats at the back room and stand to see than take the gallery front row and be uncomfortable. Buy the tickets there around 2 hours before the show if you're not fussed about the seats too much, it is much cheaper than online. Small screens translate operas at each seat but I realised too late. Worth the experience.

Decent for a short tour of the museum and the opera house rehearsals! I'm sure watching a real show in here would be a great experience, but otherwise the rest of the exhibits are nice if you're interested in theatre and opera. A good, short walk through the museum that wouldn't take more than an hour

Impressive, sadly the week I visited they were holding rehearsals so I had no guided tour for it, you might check before visiting. Even without it you can walk by yourself as plenty Italian/English explanations are on the sides and you have two interactive tablets in one of the exhibits!

Another symbol of the city of Milan. The museum is very well organized and the official app gives great guidance. The current exhibition on Maria Callas (2023-24) can't be missed. Some pictures are included here

Book online, pick the best place (my suggestion: choose any seats, but never the back balcony seats on C, D, E, or the very top) and enjoy the show. The place is very beautiful and historical.

I am so pleased I had the opportunity to visit La Scala. Time constraints meant I only bought an entrance ticket & did not do a tour, however, it was so beautiful & the museum was incredible. There was a rehearsal for the next night which added to the magic. My aim would be to return one day to watch a performance. Highly recommend.

A legend that the world loves and that we wish we could be a part of at least once... When you walk through the rooms with musical instruments and paintings, it's as if you hear the incomparable voice of Maria Callas in La Traviata. Maybe it would be a good idea for this to establish the silence there.

Of course this theater is beautiful, but I think the standard tickets 12โ‚ฌ a person are not worth it at all. You can not do much, you can enter to 4-5 rooms that are exactly the same and have the same view of the theater. All you can do is enjoying the view and take pictures. That's all. Then you can see a little museum with paintings of famous artist and some music instruments. I think if you want to see more on the inside of the theater you should reserve a tour in advance, to pay extra. You can se other rooms of the theater and enter the stage. For me, it's not worth it. Just paid that 12โ‚ฌ to take my girlfriend a bunch of pictures and that's all -.-

Great to see the inside of this famous theatre, even if there was nothing on when we visited. We went as part of entry to the small, but fairly interesting museum, with exhibits of costumes and props they use in performances as well as paintings and sculptures of famous figures from the theatre's past.

The opera was impressive, but the cheap seats were uncomfortable and we had to stand to see the actors. If you want a better experience, you have to pay more. ( And the dress code for the cheap seats is not that strict, there were many people in fancy clothes, but also people dressed more casual)

Get tickets if you can for this, the epitome of grand opera houses. Very amusing production of Barber of Seville spiced up by malt cygnets in tutus - great parody. If you book a box make sure you have the front seats as #3 & 4 have little chance of seeing the stage.

Well I couldn't get a chance to see the opera or their theatre, but their museum was definitely magnificent. There was an exhibition displaying the different types of opera that have happened. The staff was very generous, helpful and really sweet.

While the actual stage and house wasn't as mind-blowingly fabulous as I thought it would be, the museum was very high quality. The exhibit on Franco Zeffrigli (which may or may not still be open based on when you're reading this) was amazing and stunningly put together. The section featuring his costumes and sets was a highlight for sure. I went through the museum independently and with a tour group, and the experience for me was better on my own. The tour was more informative, but it moved too quickly too truly appreciate the museum, and it only featured the main portions, not the exhibitions (aka the Franco Zeffrigli bit). One last tip about the museum: you can't take water bottles in (among other things) and will have to store them in a locker before entering. The locker requires a โ‚ฌ1 deposit. No, I have not seen a show at La Scala.

The exterior is nice but deceiving. The interior is magnificent. Bathrooms are convenient. Seating is comfortable. If we had it to do over, a second level box seat for two on keyboard side is incomparable. Easy walk from Duomo.

The first time I came to the โ€œTeatro alla Scalaโ€ was a unique emotion ... I remember that during the walk to go to my seat I seemed to hear the voice of the great Maria Callas โ€ฆ. strong was my emotion. The theatre is feeling and this theatre in particular has something mysterious that lives from always here. Teatro alla Scala is an enchanting and iconic theatre even at nightโ€ฆ it is a show that never sleeps ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นโ™ฅ๏ธ

It is one of the most beatififul, impressive and memorable places in Milan. We only visited the museum and loved it. You can see pictures, instruments and the jewellery used in various operas. Will return to see the show, hopefully. Highly recommend to everyone

The Scala has to improve the customer care at front office. Very unhelpful staff . At the end after continuous try I got my ticket online at the end and all the shadow around the booking was compensated by a wonderful performance. It become a memorable birthday celebration.

Ordinary from the outside, but very impressive from the inside. Classic Opera house, very beautiful and well maintained. Guards inside are very friendly :) Other than the main hall, there's a nice exhibition of statues, music related pieces etc. Expensive entrance, but I think it's worth it.

really pretty. itโ€™s a bit expensive even for students (8โ‚ฌ) but the place is so pretty. itโ€™s really something you have to see if you go in Milan. one of the prettiest opera in the world. we were so happy to see a rehearsal of a ballet. even if it was only for 15 minutesโ€ฆ looks really expensive and the museum is cool.

A bit disappointing as we bought the tickets to enter the scala opera house but it was under rehearsal during our visit that we did not allow to go inside the threatre for pictures. Have a chance to reenter the La Scala Threatre again using the same tickets.

Opera 1st night. Fabulous performance of Marriage of Figaro. Exquisite staging, superb voices, and phenomenal acoustics. Full house! Next night, Mozart and Messiaen orchestral performance. Fabulous performance. Messiaen is unique.

We went here on our summer holiday in 2023. There was no Line tot visit the museum. The entrance fee was โ‚ฌ 26,- for two adults and three children. There is a lot to see in this museum theater. The operahouse is beautiful with all the private sittings on the balcony.

An incredibly pleasant atmosphere and a whole different world where all the art lovers showcase their amazing music and performances, people who come to Milan should definitely stop by here, but it is important to buy tickets for the event 4-5 months in advance.

Impressive place. I paid the visite with a guide, the guide was adorable, I'm french and one of my friend who i went with didn't understand everything in english and the guide who was also french took the time to re explain things she didn't understand. Absolutely adorable. The visit was very interesting but I have to admit that it is a bit expensive for what it is.

The most famous theater, a cradle of culture in the center of Milano. Nothing spectacular from the outside, but when you enter everything changes. If you do not have the chance to attend a performance, you can visit it as a museum. The price is reasonable and you get to visit almost the entire building and even sit at a balcony and enjoy the view. If you 're lucky, you can even view a rehearsal taking place. The staff is very polite and nice. 5 stars!

It was on my must-see list and I was lucky to get tickets for an opera evening with Anna Netrebko. I liked that they still keep the uniforms of the past - the valets were dressed in a coool frock coat, with some insignia around their necks, they were young and always smiling.

Suttle outside, extravagant inside! Tottaly worth it. The thรฉรขtre is a piece of art. Due to a tight schedule I couldn't assist to a show, but the repetition was mesmerizing. The people working on site are all professional and friendly, they would even offer to take a photo for you. Any body who likes fine art and class must visite this land mark of Milan.

Fascinating tour of La Scala, including boxes and backstage areas, presented in fluent English by a charming guide. The theatre was getting ready for its opening night and preparations were in place for a dress rehearsal with a live audience and the activity added to the electric atmosphere. The tour of the museum to see the gorgeous costumes is worth the extra time.

Omg I finally got my la scala experience โ˜บ๏ธ! i remember listening to la scala orchestra play in barbican , then i was surprised that the conductor and the percussionists in the back didn't need the scores ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ plus a lady used to tell me : one day u must get ur la scala experience . today I'm finally here listening to a cute opera Cinderella from Rossini , which was the same Rossini who wrote the serious williamtell ๐Ÿค” . the theatre ๐ŸŽญ does not have a lot of seats ๐Ÿ’บ but only the good ones . i sat on the 4th ring in a front box . the voice and the pit orchestra projected the sound very clearly . and the sound felt like directly coming to me . ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ”” it is a cute ๐Ÿฅบ opera but performed professionally . the piccolo sounded wonderful as it reached a nice tone without being loud ๐Ÿ”Š . i wished to cry when the light ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ dimmed and the prelude started , i started setting an expectation w the prelude . the orchestra played synchronously like a team . hence it set a good expectation of the story . during covid it has been a year since watching a good opera . ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ˜ญ the prince changed the clothes w his guard but Cinderella loved ๐Ÿ’• the prince ๐Ÿคด even if he looked poor . her jealous sister dropped their suitcases ๐Ÿคฃ as they were so surprised ๐Ÿ™€ at someone could be that pretty ๐Ÿคฃ . it's a bit strange to watch Cinderella as an opera as the female mezzo soprano had such a mature voice (like madam butterfly or Carmen) . would she sound younger if Rossini wrote her as a soprano ? the prince ๐Ÿคด tenor was both good at acting and singing effortlessly . he looked funny when he was shocked that Cinderella told his guard disguising him that she liked him . ๐Ÿคฃ the big bird man ๐Ÿฆ reminded me of the godfather in the nutcracker . the ushers here dressed up religiously like priests in a chapel ๐Ÿ’’ . I've never been to an opera house ๐Ÿก w so many kids seriously listening to operas ๐Ÿ˜ฎ (maybe only in china as tbe parents forced classical music ๐ŸŽต education) . it's so wonderful ๐Ÿ˜Š that the kids in Milan will grow up to be knowledgeable of this wonderful art form ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽญ ! This story tells us that true love does not depend on money . It also tells us to be nice to poor people . U never know one of them might actually be the Prince โ˜บ๏ธ

La scala!! Nearly as impressive as Wexford Opera house!! ;-) The museum before going to the theatre itself is very interesting and list of world famous opera singers who have sung here is amazing. It was great to spend a few minutes looking at the work on the stage preparing for the next production.

  • 4/5 Daniela S. 1 year ago on Google
Worth a visit if you can't afford the tickets to a show. The museum has been well curated and offers a glimpse into all the parts involved in one of these productions. On a hot day a good escape from the heat

We loved walking through the museum and seeing all the history of the opera house. The portraits, costumes, jewelry, instruments. So fun! We also loved walking into the theater and theater boxes to see the view! Such a cool experience!

This museum is very informative and has a very long history of the best actors and actresses, ballet dancers, singer and so on. The theatre is huge and phase a massive chandelier and stage. It is a one in a lifetime experience and I really lived everything about it.

  • 4/5 Enrique B. 1 year ago on Google
My rating is not reflective of the magnificent presentation of the guide, nor of the amazing use the venue has made of technology to enhance the experience of the patrons to this cathedral of the arts. I truly felt that the potential for the experience was not reached. Considering the history of the venue, the amazing works that have been premiered, performed, & composed within its walls; the museum experience was insufficient to my expectations.

  • 5/5 Bondiamo 10 months ago on Google
The museum holds some invaluable artifacts mostly collected from the performances of the past. It's awe inspiring to look over the theater and imagine the performances and guests that have witnessed them.
