This was spur of the moment. We went to dinner near by and he wanted to get me a birthday cake at 6pm. All other places were closed and this place was open until 7pm on a Friday. We don't have any experience with the deli since our focus was bakery, but I did note how busy the deli area was, which to me means good and people like the deli. The bakery section is adorable. I wanted it all, but our focus was cake. They have chocolate, vanilla that has hint of almond, mix of both. We chose the mix cake and we LOVED it. We put the leftover cake in the fridge and surprisingly it was even better cold. The cake was only $12 which was very low price for being able to feed 8. Great service, delicious cake, unbeatable price. Worth the stop.

Good deli to visit, but regular versus king size Sandwich looked a little suspect. They seemed to be the same size other than price. I will try again and update the review. Update. Return visit was a good experience. Tried the Turkey Bacon Avacado regular sandwich, and it was great. Neither time was I able to watch said weight of meat used on sandwich, but I will say there was plenty of turkey. This will be a goto spot to try all of the other sandwiches on the menu.

Fantastic deli experience. Delicious sandwiches, great desserts. So many tempting baked goods. Highly recommended! I will definitely be back!

I got the king Tuna on rye and it was huge and delicious!!

Just stopped to pick up some pastries for my mom. She loved the bread pudding in the bear claw. It was a little confusing as to where to go to get the food and the person that told us we were the wrong place was a little short with us but other than that the service was okay. I would go back. Maybe she was having a bad day. The food would make it worth going back to pick up something again. Have not tried the other deli stuff but it looks good.

The food was really good and I had no idea that they opened up a dining room where you can sit and eat, so that was really lovely.

Davis Bakery has been a top tier "must stop" when we are nearby since I was a kid; more than 70 years! EVERYTHING from their bakery is excellent. The starter for their one of a kind Rye bread is 83 years old. Their deli sandwiches, lox,, chicken salad are without peer. Whenever we are in Beachwood, we always find our way to them. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!

My life before eating this breakfast burrito must have been sad af because now I can't live without the 1939-er from here. Best breakfast burrito 10/10, would recommend! Herschel is an underrated breakfast king 👑.) (Size comparison included. This burrito is almost as tall and wide as my hand lol.)

This is one of my favorite places in the area. They have a big variety of homemade treats, seasonal cookies, etc… in addition to the deli. It’s really family friendly and they always go out of their way for my kids. 5 stars!

My first time coming to Davis. Had a taste for a Reuben and saw this place on Google so I decided to try it. It was very filling. When I got here the staff was very friendly and the pastries looked good too. I also bought a lemon bar, it reminded me of my mom's lemon bars.. Overall everything was good and the price was nice too.

A true gem of Cleveland. Local deli and bakery. Everything I have tried is great and they are amazing with my daughter. She loves going here because they sneak a bonus cookie into her sandwich. I'll be a regular here.

Our breakfast sandwiches, bagel and cookies were absolutely amazing! Not only was the food incredible, the staff were SO nice and Ms Jan may be the kindest woman ever! She made my son smile ear to ear and absolutely made his day. Thank you!!

Rubbery latka. Could not cut with a plastic knife. Bent the plastic fork tines. Had to rip manually to eat. Bland. No potato flavor. Very very disappointed. Bad experience. Soup fair. Cucumber salad and coleslaw good.

Since 1939 R.I.P. 11-20-2023 this place is not genuine. I went to pick up some pastries for a dear friend of mine and was insulted by the cashier, she had the gaul to open up the bag to see what was in there then closed up the bag to reopen a again to stick her unclean hands in the bag to see what was in there when clearly she could have asked me what was in the bag if not sure, unfortunately she didn't trust me enough or even have decent courtesy to wash her hands after dealt with a customers loose change. My only question to the bakery and whomever hired you Who raised you?

Just ordered a corned beef sandwich to go and it's delicious! They also have numerous other sandwich and bakery items among other things! Very friendly and personable service too who aren't afraid to make recommendations! The outside world is not the same... Highly recommended!
