This metro park is one of our most favorite! The nature center is beautiful, and the bathrooms and always clean. The black bear trail (2.1 miles) is nice through the woods (just wear grubby shoes if it has been raining). Also try the ledges hike, the rock formations are breathtaking.

First time visiting, walked the bear trail and the field trail, very relaxing. The bear trail is very well maintained and excellent for a relaxing walk and I could see being a good running trail. The field trail, was all concrete, but very beautiful. There were several stations along the way that offer learning opportunities for kids.

Nature center is open again. Real fireplace with nice big windows and rocking chairs. Good place for kids to play and learn. Many toys for them.

Really nice nature center. Not very large. But includes several exhibits and information on plants and animals that you will find in the area. There is a nice sitting area overlooking the prairie area. The staff are extremely helpful. Especially with all the different areas and trails within the Metro Parks. There are several separate areas to Liberty Park, so their information is helpful in deciding where to explore. There is a shelter house located next to the nature center. And outside you will usually find some comfortable rocking chairs and other places to sit.

Family and I had an amazing time. So good to get outdoors and see some beautiful scenery. Nice cozy little rec area and nicely kept trails with a nice view. Different trails for different hiking skills. Wife and 4 kids ages from 10 to 1yr made it fine. few rocks but actually loved that like a real trail. 1 yr old was in baby backpack on me. Just watch ur step. Strollers wouldn't be very practical for this trail. ( In my opinion) we absolutely loved it. plan on going back with family and exploring the other trails available.

Clean, climate-controlled bathrooms open late. Nice nature center. Outdoor fireplace patio. Trails for every fitness level. And split rock gorges.

This is a nice nature center with a viewing area overlooking wildlife. You can feed chickadees at this center.there are also some things to learn in the center and it's one of the centers where you can turn in your fall hiking spree forms.
