If you want some refreshing river breeze and a lovely morning or evening you can choose this place. The second Hoogly Bridge has gone over the river making this ghat a marvellous spot. Several big trees shade the place well. You can ride a boat and enjoy the river Ganges. Several food stalls will please your stomach. Overall this place is an ideal destination for a weekend outing.

Princep Ghat Ganga Access Ghat in Kolkata, it is a picturesque and serene spot along the banks of the River Ganges. For me it is one of the best Or maybe the best romantic place in kolkata. Princep Ghat Ganga Access Ghat, was its breathtaking view of the river. The ghat offers a panoramic vista of the Ganges, with gentle waves rippling against the steps and boats dotting the water. It's a perfect place to escape the bustling city and immerse oneself in the tranquility of the river. People can be seen taking leisurely walks, sitting on the steps, and enjoying the serene ambiance. I had a nice time at Princep Ghat. The view was absolutely stunning, and you can even go boating to enjoy the beauty of the Hooghly river. There are also plenty of small stalls where you can grab some food. Just a heads up, though, it does get pretty crowded in the evening, so plan accordingly if you're looking for a more peaceful experience. Overall, still worth a visit for the breathtaking views!

Prinsep Ghat, located on the banks of River Hooghly, is a majestic structure famous for its Greek/ Gothic inlays. The beauty of Princep Ghat draws architecture and history buffs in large numbers, but even locals visit to absorb the regal vibe of the attraction. With the magnificent Howrah Bridge & Hooghly Bridge in the background, watching the sunrise or sunset and taking a long walk in the cool air on the banks of the river are some of the preferred recreational activities here. During the British Rule, it was used by the staff of the British Royals as a jetty for loading and unloading passengers and essential items. The ghat is located between Fort William and the Water Gate and is often visited by tourists exploring these attractions. Prinsep Ghat is one of the few locations that have been restored to maintain the pre-independence aura. It is, therefore, a favourite amongst photographers especially for pre-wedding shoots. In between exploring the attraction, if one feels like grabbing a bite, there are several food kiosks to choose from that serve scrumptious local snacks. Prinsep Ghat is sure to be the highlight of one’s trip to Kolkata.

Princep Ghat, nestled along the serene banks of the Hooghly River in Kolkata, is a true gem of the city. This historic landmark offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and architectural grandeur, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. The ghat provides a tranquil escape from the bustling city, with its lush green gardens and panoramic views of the river. The well-maintained gardens offer a peaceful retreat for picnics, leisurely strolls, or simply unwinding amidst nature. The gentle breeze off the river adds a refreshing touch to the experience. The architectural marvels surrounding Princep Ghat are a testament to Kolkata's rich cultural heritage. The Greek-style Doric columns, inspired by ancient European architecture, stand tall and elegant, exuding a sense of grandeur. The Princep Memorial, dedicated to James Princep, a distinguished Anglo-Indian scholar, further adds historical depth to the site. Moreover, the ghat's strategic location allows for stunning views of the iconic Howrah Bridge and the Vidyasagar Setu, especially during sunset, when the cityscape is bathed in warm, golden hues. Accessibility is also a plus, with ample parking space and easy connectivity via public transport. The presence of vendors selling local snacks and handicrafts adds a touch of authenticity to the experience. In summary, Princep Ghat is a harmonious blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and architectural splendor. It provides a serene haven for those seeking a break from the city's hustle and bustle, while also offering a glimpse into Kolkata's rich cultural tapestry. A visit to Princep Ghat is a journey through time and an opportunity to appreciate the true essence of Kolkata.

Prinsep Ghat, situated close to Stream Hooghly, is a lofty construction well known for its Greek/Gothic trims. The excellence of Princep Ghat attracts engineering and history darlings huge numbers, yet even local people visit to assimilate the energy of the fascination. Some of the most popular things to do here are to watch the sunrise or sunset and take a long walk along the riverbanks in the cool air with the magnificent Howrah Bridge and Hooghly Bridge in the background. During the English Rule, it was involved by the staff of the English Royals as a pier for stacking and dumping travelers and fundamental things. The ghat is situated between Post William and the Water Door and is frequently visited by sightseers investigating these attractions. Prinsep Ghat is one of only a handful of exceptional areas that have been reestablished to keep up with the pre-freedom quality. As a result, photographers love using it, especially for pre-wedding photos. In the middle between investigating the fascination, assuming one wants to eat something, there are a few food stands to look over that serve tasty neighborhood snacks. Prinsep Ghat makes certain to be the feature of one's excursion to Kolkata.

Princep Ghat feels like a second home to me. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's always had that cozy, familiar vibe. The air is so fresh, and man, the street food here is top-notch! But beyond that, it's the view that gets me every time – the river, the bridge, it's like a postcard picture. And when the sun sets, oh boy, it's like magic. It's just one of those places that's so chill, you can't help but feel good being here. Seriously, if you're in Kolkata, swing by. It's like a little slice of the city's heart.

Everyone loves to get away from the chaos of city life, away from the monotony of work and stress. One of the best places to get a quick break from this humdrum, is Prinsep Ghat. Situated along the banks of the River Ganges, this is a mini-vacation from home without the hassle of travelling too far. It is the ideal place for people of all ages. History of Prinsep Ghat Kolkata Prinsep Ghat is an iconic location in the city for a variety of reasons and the most important one is the heritage it holds. It was built in the year 1841, during the British Raj in India.

Place adjacent to Prinsep Ghat Railway Station. Such a romantic place for couples. You can have a great time here with friends also. One cannot fathom how to pass the time in the mesmerizing green, calm and pleasant surroundings on the banks of the Ganges. The chirping of birds, the breeze of the Ganges soothes the body and mind. Best time to visit here is afternoon to evening. There is no entrance fee. However, this ghat offers hand-pulled boat rides on the banks of the Ganges, which are cost-effective (bargaining is best).

The beautiful riverside park in Kolkata. It is mainly famous for the sunset views and the view of Vidyasagar setu/Bridge. But the connectivity is not great. Either take a local train from dumdum station which is very hard to find, take a walk from Babughat bus stop. Although there is a bus stop, very few buses actually stop here.
