I've
been
eager
to
visit
Nahoum
for
quite
some
time,
and,
given
its
widespread
popularity,
my
expectations
were
sky-high.
And
though,
I
really
wanted
to
have
loved
this
place,
my
experience
was
far
from
satisfying.
I
tried
a
couple
of
items,
including
the
lemon
tart,
eclair,
heart
cakes,
pineapple
pastry
and
their
renowned
rich
fruit
cake.
The
lemon
tart
fell
short
of
expectations,
and
the
heart
cakes
tasted
odd,
almost
as
if
made
with
eno,
with
an
overpowering
flavor.
Even
the
pineapple
pastry
my
mom
tried
was
disappointing.
The
eclair
provided
some
relief.
Although
this
was
not
a
traditional
eclair,
something
that
I
had
expected,
the
surprise
wasn't
too
bad
on
my
part.
The
worst
of
it
all,
however,
was
the
fruit
cake.
It
was
way
too
sweet,
filled
only
with
candied
raisins
and
had
a
weird
aftertaste.
Nobody
at
my
home
would
have
a
second
helping
of
the
cake.
Honestly,
I
had
hoped
to
experience
the
old-world
charm
of
this
local
favourite,
but
it
seems
they've
modernized
it
into
more
of
a
bakery
shopping
mart,
relying
on
its
legacy
to
draw
a
crowd.
