ISKCON Kolkata is the first ISKCON Temple established by Srila Prabhupada in India. Moreover, ISKCON’S first Ratha Yatra in India took place in Kolkata on 12 July 1972. ISKCON Kolkata’s youth preaching wing ISKCON Youth Forum (IYF) has been preaching to youth community in and around Kolkata since 2001 and hundreds of students have participated in different courses. It has centres called VOICE (Vedic Oasis for Inspiration, Culture & Education) close to some colleges that offer systematic spiritual training program to empower the modern youth. It also has a Youth of Gods Abode center (YOGA) called Bhaktivedanta YOGA within the temple premises. At YOGA, working youths live together and practice Krishna consciousness. Temple has many congregation devotees. Some of these devotees hold Bhakti Vriksha programs at their homes. A lovely serene place not only for the spiritually inclined but also for lay devotees of Lord Krishna.

Guys, this is one of the best place to have veg lunch or dinner. The price is not so high or not so less but it’s worth it. This is a very beautiful clean place and also amazing decoration and beautifully peaceful ambience inside of it. The workers inside the restaurant are amazing in behaviour. The foods are made with pure ghee and served only newly cooked hot foods. You can take selfies or pictures a lot around this place because the basic colour is white and decorated with wooden texture. Must visit places for veg people. The one who has taken part in ISKCON they all know about this place so the one who doesn’t know about or who has no participation in ISKCON be should know that this place has got the most beautiful tasted veg items in Kolkata. I suggest you all to visit this place and enjoy the food. Do take selfies and do take the photos of your food and make sure to post. And also one information regarding the payment that There is no problem with the payment you can give cash or you can pay through online UPI or even card.

Yumm foods... I can't believe, the food can be so yumm without onion and garlic until I enjoined lunch here. Nice ambiance and it's the great solution for me to have food with no onion and garlic people and also for no onion and garlic day for me.

A must visit place for the people who are true vegitarian. I am in love with the place , the ambience of this place so positive and you will feel it when you enter this place a nice and well behaviour from the staffs. I came with my friend and we have tried the soya biryani and special khichdi. I have tried many other places but trust me this one was far better than others . The quality and the quantity both were in proportion and it vanished our hunger. I would like to request everyone if you visit this place then you should take darshans of Sri Radha Govinda ji , you will feel blessed and have full of positivity.

Had thali and buttermilk. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. The place needs major maintenance. Tables are worn out, the bathroom is horrible and there is only one for the whole place. The staff seems like they don't care about customers. Absolutely disappointed with this visit and will probably not return any time soon. Hope this helps 🙏

If you swear by pure vegetarian food, chances are you must have dropped in at Govinda's at least once. If not, read on as you've clicked on the right recommendation. Owned by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), the restaurant near Minto Park ISKCON temple has been serving authentic vegetarian food (minus onion and garlic) for decades. It has a pretty basic sit-in area where people can have lunch after visiting the temple (we did just that!). Govinda's is famous for their south Indian dishes but they also serve north Indian and Chinese food, so no one's complaining. They have another outlet in Ballygunge, which also has a basic layout with wooden and round glass tables. Their Indian thali comes for INR 140 and they'll give you unlimited amount of roti, sabzi and rice! That's as basic as it gets! Order a kabuli naan, Amritsari kulcha or pepper cheese kulcha, and you can break them piping hot while you dip in the paneer nawabdaar or paneer chatpata till you actually spill it on your clothes. Their lahori alu jeera, cheese malai kofta and makai veg jhal fry are equally tempting. The alu jeera is the right kind of spicy, with the pepper sharpening the taste even more. Dosa lovers are in for a joy ride. Choose from the paper cheese masala dosa (which is our favourite), Mysore masala dosa and rawa masala dosa,. The paper cheese masala dosa is thinner than a napkin with cheese overflowing from all corners. For sweet endings you can order a sundae and leave with your tummies filled to the brim.

It's a perfect place for vegetarian food. This place has variety of foood options to try but sweets are the best. The food is tasty, tempting but sumptuous too. The hygiene is good, surrounding are clean and attitude of people was polite. The structure and exterior of the restaurant was also serene.

Hindus have to be patient in their religion to achieve their peacefulness. Hindus are also known to be very friendly. Having such characteristics would greatly empower our whole society no matter what religion someone is from, . The first thing I noticed upon arrival at the temple is the beautiful architectural building design outside....

Food taste is good, but not extraordinary, keep this in mind.If you want pure vegetarian food, this restaurant is a good choice. But why I gave a 2-star?The food price is exceptionally high compared to the quantity.Insufficient for one person. And I found the staffs not so-well-mannered,like if you order an item of lesser price, they don't serve you properly. If you like spending money in restaurants,go there.Otherwise, prefer others.

That small measure of peace which we all seek in life and few of us ever find; it's here! I was searching for some answers in life which led me to this holy place ISKCON, Kolkata. I spent a month there. Those days were the period of ultimate serenity n peace. From the moment they wake up, they devote themselves to the perfection of service to Lord Krishna. Never seen such discipline. I was very bad at playing the Mridanga (Khol) in the evening kirtan, so I chose the cymbals. Words can't express how delightful it is to dance with the Prabhus. Never had food so delicious and the Hare Krishna chants purifies the soul. Hare Krishna!

After establishing many temples all over the world, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada returned to India in August 1970. He established ISKCON’s first center in India in Kolkata at 3C Albert Road, Kolkata – 700017. He came to Kolkata along with his foreign disciples. Shaven – headed Westerners, with sikhas, Vaisnava tilaka, saffron robes, playing mrdangas and karatalas, chanting Hare Krishna, quoting Sanskrit verses eloquently created sensation in Kolkata. Hundreds of people would gather to have a glimpse of these Western devotees. Sankirtan was performed at places like Dalhousie Square, Chowringee and at other different places.

An absolutely overhyped place which capitalizes on the brand value of iskcon. But that is again my personal opinion. I have been often told, this place is fantastic and amazing etc in a thousand other flowery words, and I have heard rants about how well behaved and serene the place is. My point is simple enough. You DO NOT EAT THE AMBIENCE of a place. No where else do you pay 250 bucks for a plate of masala aloo of average taste and make a fuss about the serenity of the aloo. Search for serenity in your mind people. Overpriced is overpriced, average is average. Compounded that to a very slow service, and your love for ambience goes for a toss along with the patience of paying 80 odd bucks for a masala papad.

Govinda’s is a vegetarian restaurant in Kolkata that serves delicious and authentic Indian food without Garlic and Onion. I recently had the opportunity to dine at Govinda’s, and I was very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a convenient location, and it is easy to find. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered the thali, which is a set meal that includes a variety of different dishes. The food was delicious and flavorful, and the portions were generous. I was especially impressed with the dahi puri, which was a sweet and savory dish made with yogurt, potatoes, and tamarind sauce. The service was excellent. The staff was attentive and made sure that I had everything I needed. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu, and they were able to make suggestions based on my preferences. The atmosphere at Govinda’s is relaxed and inviting. The restaurant is decorated with traditional Indian artwork, and the music is soothing and relaxing. Overall, I had a very positive experience at Govinda’s. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian meal in Kolkata. **Here are some of the things I liked about Govinda’s:** * The delicious and authentic Indian food * The friendly and helpful staff * The clean and well-maintained restaurant * The relaxed and inviting atmosphere **I would rate Govinda’s 5 out of 5 stars.**

Had visited here once, long time back, there was this huge weekend lunch hour rush when the waiters weren't able to manage all the customers efficiently, got a table after a long time, pure vegetarian food was okay though the rice was mushy entirely.

Great food, even a simple dal is so tasty. A boon especially for vegetarians looking for homely or even special items, without onion and garlic. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Hardly pay attention, had to keep trying to even call them to the table, and in essence are not focussed on their work.

If you want to taste pure cooking food then this is the right place to eat. Tomato Soup and Manchow Soup excellent in taste. Paneer was so soft in the starter section but I was bit disappointed with Paneer 65 it was sour and made of pickle. Paneer 65 was totally different than other places and I haven't tasted like this. Had a talk with the waiter but he told that it is the recipe since 10 years. Best was Vegetable Biriyani I liked it very much. Spacious and protocol is being maintained.

Extremely Poor, going by the menu prices, you guys should close down. Let me put my thoughts in detail. 1. Jal jeera: tap water mixed with 5rs jaljeera packet 2. Tandoori rotis were burnt. 3. Veg Keema, I didn't really could get the difference between that and a road side mix veg 4. Dal tadka: flat taste: nothing exceptional. 5 tandoori veg platter: 8 miniscule cubes of veggies and some panner, the paneer was hardly prepared well, the veggies were fully raw. Would have a negative star of possible
