Price is extraordinary high and taste of rosogolla is not upto the mark. Earlier it was better. It seems that the quality of rosogolla has deteriorated as my expectation was High regarding K.C.Dass.

K.C. Das, a sweet shop in Kolkata city selling sweet and savory items for more than 160 years. It sells various sweets including Rosogolla, Chana Chomchom, Radhaballavi, and many more. The quality and authenticity of the foods available in this shop are unique in taste.

This is the most overhyped place in Kolkata. First thing first : This is only running with old fame. Taste is bogus, yes you read it correct. Huge price in the name of brand. It's been a place to hangout or buy out for so called aristocrats. As a food lover I can not recommend it. I have tried 3 times here and then only giving this review. Also they will say you can not take picture as its private property. Lol then why are you selling here to public..It's not a museum or army place. And if someone doing vlog etc for money making purpose that's may be objectionable but mere taking two pics with your cell is they are objecting on.

The food quality is very good, lots of variety of sweets available. But I feel much more expensive. The same sweets are available half the price in any other famous sweet shop, no doubt about their quality but still not justified by their price. If you dine in then it is a little bit justified because their ambiance is good and has a sitting capacity. Their mango lassi is also good.

One of the most famous sweet shops, situated right at the heart of Kolkata, Esplanade. Famous for its Roshogollas. KC Das roshogollas are distinctively spongy, which some like and some don't. Though in recent times there quality has gone down. Regarding the pricing, items are far more expensive than what is available in a normal sweet shop in the city. Still worth a visit for sweet lovers and those who want to enjoy food at this historical restaurant.

One of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata, K.C. Das offers a wide range of delicacies. I have tried one item only and it was tasty. The price is a bit higher. However, they need a lot of improvements - 1. They must provide carrybag for the buyers. 2. They must redecorate the interior of the shop.

They have ample varieties of Bengali sweets that you end up choosing which one to eat. Try their rasgullas they are spongy like heaven, also try their ras malai. I wish I could eat their sweets every single day.

I tried many sweets but rasagolla was mouthwatering among all. The rasagolla offered a moment of pure indulgence that captures the essence of India's rich culinary heritage. The spongy consistency will melt in your mouth, leaving a pleasant aftertaste that will balance the saccharine notes.

The inventor of rasagulla (this is what they claim to be). Well I am not sure about that but I am very sure about the sweets they offer. Their sweets are really really delicious. Whenever I visit Kolkata I always visit their shop to buy sweets and Mishti dohi is my favourite among all. If you are in Kolkata it's a must visit.

Since it was on the to-do list, so visited their original shop on Esplanade, We had Kesar Maharaj, Rabri, Rossumal HNCH and Khir Kadam. The quality and taste was not as good as publicized. Would rate it just average.

This is one of the most famous place for bengali sweets. You will find a lot of variety of Bengali sweets. However when tasted few, it was not so good as expected. . . Tried Singara and Strawberry, Blackcurrant, and normal Rasogolla. The price is too high when compared to the quality. Filling of singara was too dry. There were too many cracks on all types of Rosogolla. Blackcurrant flavour was less intense. Only strawberry Rosogolla was good. . . Far better kind of Rosogolla is made in many small places in Kolkata. . . Follow my journey with food on Instagram @foodoroshik

One of the most famous Bengali sweets, Roshogolla is a soft round sweet dipped into a sugary syrup

It is believed that the inventor of the famous Rasgolla of West Bengal was K.C. Das. This branch is located at Dharmatala Crossing of Central Avenue. Their famous rasgolla is available in cans, which people take all over the world. The interior decoration of this shop is very nice, there is a place to sit and eat. There are many types of sweet products are available along with various lassi and other products. The test is excellent but the pocket will be light. The price is really high. This same product is available for much less in other good stores. But considering the tradition and brand of Bengal, the price has to be tolerated. I don't know if it is forbidden to take pictures inside this shop, but one of the staff forbade me to take pictures! And yes, one more thing, canned rasgolla is not at all delicious. That's fine for overseas, but not for us, who loves Gorom Rosogolla.

I always love trying out their flavoured rosogolla and also rasmalai. It just tastes heaven !! This is a must visit place if you are visiting kolkata have there rosogollas and you will fall in love with the taste. You would want to have more and even pack some for your home. 💕 It's a historical outlet located at one of the most busiest and prime locations in kolkata. Krishna Chandra Das commonly referred to as K.C. Das after which this outlet and Brand is named , was a Bengali confectioner, entrepreneur, businessman and Bengali cultural icon of the early 20th century. Born in 1869 in Bag bazar, Kolkata, Krishna Chandra was the only son and successor of the Bengali confectioner and sweetmeat inventor Nobin Chandra Das. Krishna Chandra Das became an iconic figure in the 1930s Kolkata with his original creation the "Rosso Malai" and the vacuum canned "Rosso Golla", which were popularized and promoted throughout India by his family organization K.C. Das Private Limited.

K C Das is considered to be the best place to taste the Bengali sweets. Unfortunately we visited it it in the evening until then most of the sweets were out of stock (may be due to Durga puja). You can get parcels for some of the sweets.
