Newly opened cafe! Just on the way to jakoo, the cafe owner is really nice and welcoming. They have variety of coffees (from coffee beans) and also variety of food. Its a must visit and also if you support local (unlike the commercialised main street😐)

It's an amazing place for food and for working. There's WiFi, soulful food and the ambience is beyond amazing. Upon entering the cafe you will find yourself surrounded by books, which is a bonus if you're a book lover. Even if you're not, the vibes of the place are so refreshing, that you'd want to spend all your time here. Another point worth mentioning here, is the view from the place. The view is awe-inspiring, and there are tables outside in the balcony that face the mountains. You would love to book a spot here and sit forever!

A nice cafe with good food and good books to read. The ambience is peaceful. There is not much variety in food but prices are reasonable. You will also not get much variety in books but they do have some really good books ranging from Charles Dickens to IIAS Publications. Most books are donated so it will take time to build a diverse collection. A good initiative.

This is a small facility but amazing , being managed very well they serve a small menu of fast food and baked items , located near to theridge at taka bench , they have a good collection of books one can spend some good time reading over a cup of coffee , must visit when in shimla , thefood quality can be improved a little bit ...!!!

A superb cafe with mesmerizing view one can long for while enjoying delicious food from its window. I wished we had more time to spend in this cafe to enjoy beauty of nature with delicious food and many books available to read. There were many monkeys 🐒 starring at us for food but beware as the food offering to monkeys and other stray animals can attract penalty if caught.

Amazing place to visit

Absolutely a great place!! The food is great, the staff is very humble. I have been visiting this place since the time inmates used to run it and then it got shut in 2019 due to some government policy But it's back in the town again with the same warmth and lovely ambience.❤️❤️:)

Book Cafe is paradise for book lovers and book worms. Ambience and view on one side is great. You can pick up books from their nicely stocked library or carry your own book or Kindle. Order tea or coffee and some snacks. Be bit choosy about snacks as some are good and some not so good. Rates are reasonable. The cafe is run by inmates undergoing prison sentence. One aim of Book Cafe to reform them is certainly achieved, it is impossible to believe that this run by people who are convicts. Kudos to Department of Prisons. A must visit place for Book lovers or those seeking little calm and quite. Solitude will not be there as most of the time place has quite a few visitors.

This place is located on the takka bench ...offers a unique ambience but truly speaking food is really very bad though its priced cheap but quality is extremely bad and stale ....

Really Loved the place, i tried the Vada Pav and as someone from Mumbai where vadapav is like a daily dosage of food , the Vada pav over here didn't disappoint me it was awesome, also they asked me for more improvements for their vadapav that was really a good point for customer satisfaction, the next best thing for me was the music taste of the place normally I would plugin both my earphones at cafes but here I just had to vibe with the songs being played , next up would be the price everything is pocket friendly without any compromise on the taste , lastly loved the staff all were friendly and gave a warm welcoming sensation. if you're visiting in the morning a bonus point will be the View it's astonishing ( at night as well but the glass reflection at night was blocking it )
