Sree sundareswara temple also known as talap temple was formatted by sree Narayana guru. The most famous and the first temple that was developed by sree Narayana guru for the members of backward communities. After selfless efforts by these noble souls, overcoming a host of hurdles including financial problems, finally the temple was constructed, and consecrated by Sree Narayana Guru Devan at a muhoortham between 3 AM and 3:20 AM on 11th April 1916, during the ascendancy of Pooyam (Pushya) star. Subsequently, Guru Devan's statue was consecrated in 1938 along with the Dwajastambam (flag pole) and Deepastambam (lamp post). The consecration of the Balikkappura (bali platform) was done in 1939, the Gajamandapam (elephant hall) in 1943 and the temple pond in 1946. Later many changes have occured in the temple. Basically 7days of utsav is celebrated here, and will end with the final day aarat.

Sree Sundareswara Temple was consecrated by the renowned reformist of Kerala Sree Narayana Guru. The temple has gone a lot of changes after that. The temple would be crowded on special days. On normal days you could get a peaceful place. The temple pond is a main attraction. Parking is not at all an issue as there is lot of space for it.

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting this temple for the first time, and I was truly captivated by its peaceful ambiance and positive energy. What made the experience even more enchanting was the sight of numerous doves gracefully congregating in front of the temple, creating a truly mesmerizing scene in the morning.
