Blissful time in chamarajeshwara temple. Temple with great history in chamarajanagara. A huge temple in the locality. Lord shiva, Chamundeshwari and parvathi can be found in the temple. Peacefulness in the morning and evening time. Very famous during the Ashada time during with ratostava takes place. The temple was built by the Mysore kings and their idols can be seen in the temple

This Temple is at the Heart of City and a main Architectural Landmark. Very Spacious within Temple premises and also accessible roads on all four sides.

The temple was very nice. But, when I went there there was some sort of protests for MP seat elections so it was very disturbing 😩. The place has a park for children and public. I went and sat there to get some rest. This place had trees due to which the park was cool

Amazing 200 year old temple built by Mysore woodyar family. Greatly build with serenity and spritual presence. Lord Shiva is tiny (around 15 cm max). Temple is accessible by road and train network.

It's a very beautiful ancient temple of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi devi (Kempananjampadevi) and Goddess Chamundeshwari. It was built in 19th century by wodeyars. Yearly fare ( Rathotsava) will be der in the Ashada month of Hindu calendar.

Temple is old with huge open spaces.... Once you enter the temple you could feel you have traveled back in time... With its old temple pillars and it architecture..... But I feel like the temple management can maintain it better.

Historical temple built in 1826. Attracts many people around Chamarajanagara district. Siva is main Deity and chamundi is another deity. All other gods are surrounding the main temple. There is a huge bul called Nandil in front of the main Deity.

An age old temple well preserved with exquisitely carved idols of various forms of lord Shiva and a very peaceful inner sanctum. A worthy visit for history and archaeology buffs.

Visit to Chamarajanagar after a gap of very many years. It was here my elder brother Chandrakumar had his first posting on appointment in LIC, it was here I did my B.Sc., degree in JSS college from 1976 to 1979. It was here I had my probationary period of my appointment in LIC , to do the work of bifurcation Policy records to newly formed Kollegala branch carved out of Chamarajanagar branch. Well Chamarajanagar holds a very nostalgic and sweet memories of my college days. I got a lot of good friends from this place. Chamarajanagar is a very historical place. Earlier years it is stated that Chamarajanagar was known as Arikottara later it was named Chamarajanagar by Krishanaraja Wodeyar III in the memory of his father Chamaraja Wodeyar who was born here. There’s a big temple dedicated to Shiva called Chamarajeshwara whose Rathothsava/ cart festival is very famous attracts large number of devotees and specially newly married couples who would be temporarily separated during Ashada month ritually followed in the surrounding villages.
