    The food here is fantastic! 🎉 We had a variety of traditional Myanmarese curries - fish, beef, pork, chicken as well as a variety of salads. 😋 This time, we ended up with a very nice variety of desserts! One tasted just like Chendol and the other like Sago Gula Melaka 😋😋😋 I love the banana cake, in pink, too and had 3 servings ... Maybe four... Hahaha 😆🤣😂

    Good but not the best place for vegetarians in the city. The place is very clean and odour free ( as you can find in a lot of Myanmar restaurants). The best part is a self explanatory menu. You have to order one main dish and it will come with unlimited rice and 5-6 side dishes. Only problem was that the choices were limited for vegetarians in main curry section.

    Definitely a must try restaurant in Myanmar. The food was delicious. They served every main dish with different side dishes and comes with unlimited rice. This is where we first tried falooda, a delectable dessert. They also served complementary dessert that is a Myanmar traditional food. Everyone in the restaurant greets you upon entering and the service was really awesome.

    That’s an amazing way to introduce yourself to Burma’s cuisine and its hospitality. The quality and quantity of food is spectacular: with every dish (of 4/5$ value) you get rice, soup and a lot of sides! So pick up wisely and don’t exaggerate because you won’t have the problem of eat less. Go try this place and when you enter say “Mingalabar” (it means “hello, may you have a prosperous life”).

    Worst restaurant we ate at in our week long trip to Myanmar — I recommend you look for a meal elsewhere. While the atmosphere is nice and the wait staff friendly and helpful the food was of the poorest taste and quality of all our 7 dinners in Myanmar. The serving portions are also very small relative to other Myanmar restaurants and that mixed with the price results in poor value overall. The chicken curry we ordered was full of bones which were a major choking hazard. The vegetable spring rolls we ordered tasted like they were microwaved or came from 7-11. Myanmar has great food — just not here!

    Clean, reasonably priced for tourists. Friendly English-speaking staff. The restaurant proudly displays a TripAdvisor logo, so tourists can expect good service. Non-alcoholic drinks 1900 Ks, rice plates 3500 Ks. Full size entrees ~6000 Ks.; the other reviewers were not kidding about the plentiful side dishes, tea salad, and sweets that accompany the entrees!

    {"0":"Not sure why this place has such good reviews.\n\nIt is very clean and well staffed, and there is air conditioned seating, but the food is all pre-cooked and displayed behind a glass panel display of heated food trays. You point to select what meats and veggies you want.\n\nRice, soup and salads are sides that come with the portions above. The soup is tangy and the salad includes pickled veggies. The pork that we ordered (it was 'today's special) was tough, dry and at room temperature.\n\nOverall, our meat dish with the mentioned sides cost 5500K. Not expensive at all, but not really worth eating either.","2":["0","128"]}

    The restaurant has a variety of curries laid out on the first floor where you can choose your main dishes and then you can dine upstairs in the AC dining room. The vegetables platter is complimentary for every table. Love the pickled side dishes and spice level. Remember to try the local desserts - shwe yin aye (coconut milk with sago, coconut jelly, sticky rice, cendol, and white bread). Great service. Cost was about ~$14USD for 2 people.

    Very good restaurant with a focus on Burmese kitchen. Although being a highly frequented place by tourists from all around the globe who are visiting Mandalay they still offer, at least for my taste, authentic Burmese food. You can choose between different kind of curry‘s, with or without meat or fish) as well as other traditional dishes. The food is pretty decent too, the staff very friendly and the place is very clean.

    Came here on 26 November 2019. The hospitality was great, and they're able to communicate in English. The atmosphere is quiet, this is a place that you can actually sit and talk to your companies. Price is rather pricey for the locals so you may only see foreigners here (About $4 for a river prawn curry). Don't get fooled by the emptiness, it's not dodgy nor shady, they even provided FREE side dishes and desserts! The food is good, I recommend the river prawn curry, where all the essence of the prawns are mixed together with the curry paste. Also, tea leaf salad is a must try!

    Nice place to eat out, with local dishes galore. Plenty of atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists alike. Was offered free salad with curry dip, and also typical Burmese snack desserts, which added to the experience. Pop by next door through the parking lot to see the cooks in the open air kitchen at work.

    Probably the best food we ate during our 5 days in Myanmar. I ordered a mutton dish, and they serve it with so many wonderful sides. The tamarind juice was delicious. At the end of your meal, they bring you some complimentary snacks. Great experience!

    You can get full sense of Burmese cuisines with charming service of the local waiters. The entire area is constructed with modern style but the whole restaurant can capture the feeling of Burma by fully decorated with traditional items. The most highlight in here is their service. The service of the restaurant is totally spot on. Burmese foods and cuisines are well presented so you can also have business lunch meeting with your important ones, gathering with your colleagues, and reunion with your beloved family and friends. The prices might be a little bit higher than normal but the space is wide enough for business meeting, gathering and reunion.

    Appetizer . Myanmar Couple Pancakes - I felt they were greasy. Main . Slow cooked mutton with chickpeas and it said on the menu it would come with "side dishes, soup and rice". Well, I was eating by myself and just thought it was a huge amount of food for one person. I did like the mash potatos. I did not tried some others because the waiter said it was spicy and I do not like spicy food, as my personal taste. I really did enjoyed the mutton and the steamed rice (not in the photo) that they served. They also served green leaf and pumpkin soup which was nice. Free Desert - Sticky fried rice (some of them a bit burned) and fried peanuts with some other I ingredients I did not comprehend (heard) what the waitress said. Peanuts were also a bit oily and I felt it was too much fried food and too much quantaties. Great to share though. So I decided to give the 3 stars because I did enjoy parts of the meal but others were so so. Waiters were nice in general but english was not understandable, at times.

    Excellent place to sit and try local dishes from all over the region and country. This is one of the few places that will make food as you order it, for example, if you want less oil in your tea leaf salad (a must in my book). Prices are reasonable considering the upscale feel and decor. Sit upstairs for air conditioning. Staff is attentive also. A little pricier than other local places, but the quality is commensurate.

    Great food, good service. The owner of the restaurant took the time to explain every dish in detail to me and my friends. The food was excellent. A lot of side dishes are provided and every person simply needs to order 1 main dish for themselves. Beverages are cheap, side dishes are free and rice is topped up for free, too. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very proactive and polite. Would definitely recommend.

    Fantastic Myanmar(Burmese) restaurant. Here you can taste high-quality traditional Myanmar(Burmese) food in a semi-cozy(it is generally nice but there were some flying insects around) environment. You are definitely getting a fully-filled stomach after visiting here.

    I don't know why people write about great food. I would describe it in a couple words: VERY OILY. That is not what I would like to have for dinner. All the curries are floating in oil. Luckily they serve lots of complementary side dishes which are not bad. Salad was ok too. Nice service, but food is definitely not my type.

    Mingalarbar Restaurant is located in Mandalay. The food is perfect and delicious. The shop has two floors and there is aircon on the upper floor, but smoking is not allowed on the upper floor. The staff are polite and very friendly. The shop is very clean and spacious. If you eat, you also have side dishes. Have a meal and tea. In addition to eating, you can also drink fresh juice. You can also buy gifts. There is also a parking lot. The layout of the shop is also very nice. Although it is a famous shop, there is plenty of seating and there is no noise

    Was very disappointed because they couldn’t explain anything in English. And when I asked for a menu they said they don’t have a menu as it’s in printing . When I asked the prices they told me a much different price but when the bill came it was much more than what they told me when I ordered the food ! Very bad staff ! Will never go again ! Plenty more options out there that serve the same type of food with honest staff.

    I decided to come to this restaurant after seeing it on the happycow app, thinking it would be good for vegetarians. There are actually not many vegetarian options at all.     {"0":"This place has a good take on Traditional Burmese Food. It's pretty delicious if you ask me. But for someone who doesn't eat meat. They don't really provide much variety in dishes, but the salad and plant based dishes they already offer is delicious enough that you don't need more variety. Although I will say this, I ordered a smoothie and it took more than 30 minutes. But the smoothie they offered was delicious enough that the wait was worth it. Would recommend to those who are willing to try Traditional Burmese food.","2":["0","239"]}
