Cheapest room rate per night in Mandalay I've found. 20usd a night via Agoda. Will be cheaper if you book for group room. Pls be noted that after the coup...few years ago... Many cities in Myanmar face blackouts...a lot. And big hotel will run generator most of the time. But this hotel does not run the generator like bigger hotels. So pls be noted about this. Good location though... Within ten minute walk radius... You can visit many coffee shops and restaurants. But the footpath in Mandalay is not suitable for walking at all. I had to walk on the road.. most of the time.

I had bad experience They said happy hour for roof top bar 5 to 7. I went there but bartender is missing fo 1 hour. Rooms are clean but lot of mosquito. Couldnt sleep Next day i change to another hotel. Bus station is also far away fom hotel

Very clean indeed, cleaner than many hi price hotels in the city. The Mattress and bedding is very hi quality too and arguably he hottest showers also. The rooftop sports a massive Uber chill bar and restaurant. The breakfasts are freshly made to order and tastier than sordid grub in served in other hotel buffets. The place is managed by a charming Spanish girl who ensures all guests enjoy their Mandalay adventures all on an incredibly low budget. Happy hour full blown cocktails are just a dollar as is a giant plate of real chips. This hostel is a humdinging place with an eclectic crowd ranging from expats, guys married to Burmese girls, globetrotters, English teachers, NGOs , the occasional foreigner of Burmese origin returning after decades to visit and of course Myanmar loving tourists from every corner of the planet. The beef in the thick burger is high quality and comes with chip and salad sides, The pizzas are amazingly good made with fresh dough baked to perfection. Ginger sodas are made with masses of freshly squeezed ginger juice. If you wish to travel and have that "Myanmar is the best" feeling you should consider staying at Ostello of course there are many staff speaking many many languages making your adventures smooth.

Great hostel with very friendly and helpful staff and an awesome rooftop bar :)

Nice place to stay and a fun place to go for some drinks and dancing on the roof. If you catch happy hour from 5 to 9 you get two cocktails for 6000- not too bad- otherwise drinks are a little expensive. Some different activities on certain days like beer pong and trivia (where the questions may be the same as the week before).

Cheap budget hotel. But a friend of ours staying in the hotel got her motorcycle stolen there, even though the motorcycle was under the care of the hotel. The owner did give compensation for the lost motorbike. They don't care and won't help

Good location and atmosphere. Not far from Mandalay palace and Mandalay hill. Friendly staffs. Food here are good taste and reasonable price. Have both dorm and private room type.

Had an awesome time here and made lot's of new friends. Location is fine, in the middle of the town and I worked to most of the key sights. They have in house tour organisers who arrange trips and transport which was very convenient. Had a great time visiting the Moustache brothers comedy show. Roof top bar was also good fun.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. Like every Ostello Bello, there is a nice rooftop to chill at night. The place is well staffed, great place to book everything and get handy advices. However we found the food pricey and way under what we could have found for half the price anywhere else.

Great place to meet other travellers. Very good location and they really do speak English, unlike other places, who just say yes to everything you say but don't understand a word of English. Lovely staff and great facilities.

Latest update：14 July 2022 I have stayed here between 3rd & 6th July, 2022 I am upset about two issues (happened on 06.07.2022) about price over-charged. 1️. Bus fare to Bagan was charged MK23000 (USD12.38/SGD17.27) After boarding the bus bounding for Bagan, I realised all passengers paid less than MMK20000. And I managed to find out OK Express coach actual fare (from Mandalay to Bagan) cost MMK15000/person! By booking a bus-ticket (without a physical bus-ticket), being charged at MK23000 is absolutely unfair. Furthermore, the bus was not full. The Ostello Bello Mandalay counter staff could have kindly advised me，take a walk to the pick-up point and wait for the OK Express coach! 2️. Tutuk fare charged at MK3000 (USD1.61/SGD2.25) for 1.2km Ostello Bello Mandalay arranged me a tuk-tuk despite telling them I can walk. Ostello Bello Mandalay counter staff was not honest to tell me where is the pick-up point and I was being told it was very far from Ostello Bello Mandalay. It is approximate 13-15mins walking time from Ostello Bello Mandalay to bus pick-up point (just beside Oway Grand Hotel). That is the bus pick-up point bounding for Bagan. However, I am sure it is going to take me 10mins to reach there from Ostello Bello Mandalay. I have walked from Bello Mandalay to the south & east gate of the Palace, and returned back (a total distance of about 4.6km). Anyway, MK3000 is way over-priced! The tuktuk fare should be less than MMK1000 and Ostello Bello Mandalay pocketed another MMK2000. Conclusion: 1. Ostello Bello Mandalay is not transparent about pricing (eg. how much is commission)❗ 2. Not all travellers are stupid. 📸Photo is worth a thousand words. See attachment.

A great stay here! Very comfortable rooms and a great atmosphere for anyone. The staff are always on hand to help you with anything you need.

Great location, cool staff, amazing rooms, good view from rooftop, nice food...! everything has been great. one of the best hostels I have been in all these years

One can tell that Ostello Bello was designed by someone who has done a fair bit of backpacking themselves. The rooms are clean and spacious with en suite bathrooms. The lounge downstairs / reception is a hub for planning activities, using laptops (can be asked for!) and drinking coffee and tea (on the house) while chatting with fellow travelers. Come evening time, there's a great rooftop to enjoy a beer, a smoothie and the panorama. 5 stars for the atmosphere, cleanliness, well-thought out layout and organisation, and competitive price, as well as great breakfast.

I had an amazing time here! The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a good breakfast every morning with strong coffee and the rooftop bar has some beautiful views! Highly recommended!

Nice and fun staff, awesome rooftop bar with nice view over Mandalay and to Mandalay Hill. The double and two bed rooms we had were clean and spacey with a nice bathroom, big and strong shower. There is free water, coffee and tea available the whole day. It's located close to the palace and a few good restaurants. The hostel also makes great spaghetti.

Great Hostel and great to meet new people. Well priced. Breakfast could be better but can’t complain when it’s free. Each night they have special events which was very fun. You can book tours from the hotel which I recommend, especially the day tour which was amazing.

Clean, helpful staff. Lots of fun, good food and information can arrange tours and such. In general can get cheper tours but will take more work. Place is very western, lots of backpacks not at all a local place. Good place to meet other travelers and plan trips together.

The hostel was super clean, it has all a backpacker needs to feel comfortable. Free clean towels and soap, activities everyday, decent bed and facilities in the room, a good rooftop and a very nice location (although I would still use a Mototaxi because the distance between attractions in Mandalay can be significant). Its really social and you can meet fellow travelers easily. The personnel is attentive, they can get you all you need to continue on on your trip. They have good food and beer, but if you feel like eating out, there are a few good options at walking distance too.

The hostel was cool and amazing, the stuff were super lovely. The rooms were big and comfortable, shower is good. The food also was great. Every night there’s something on the rooftop bar and it’s so fun. If I could I would definitely go back there!

Sweet hostel :) There is a super nice common area where you can order quite good food and a rooftop with a super pretty view. The hostel has events to participate in every day and the breakfast (for free) is okay. It's pretty much a party hostel and if you don't like that you shouldn't come here though. It can be very noisy when it's late and since there are no curtains for the beds it might as well happen that some of your drunken room mates turn on the light and start a party in the room.

This Ostello Bello is conveniently located. There are nice local cuisine stalls within walking distance. I had the double bedroom and it was spacious. However, at check in, there was no air conditioning remote which would have been an oversight. The breakfast here is average, with toast, scrambled eggs and pancakes. I would suggest trying out breakfast outside. I came in early with the night bus but there were no rooms available. But it was still possible to sleep on the couch in the lobby.

Overall I love Ostello bello,it is my favourite hostel place. there is this sense of security and feel good kind of feeling about it because my first experience in Milan with their property was superb and it has carried forward always. They have a lift to access the rooms which is good for people with wheelchair like me. . Yes I was very upset to see that at the entrance of the hostel there was one step where I had to ask people to help me pick my wheelchair and put it up. I did live a suggestion with the manager to take care of that and I am sure they will other than that it was very wheelchair friendly. I stayed in a dormitory mostly I can't expect the washroom to be wheelchair friendly. There is one small little step where one has to take a bath. There is a hand shower also. Their staff is always kind and well versed with English which is a real good thing. There was this boy who was so cute the one who would go andw show everybody the room that they were staying in I wish i remembered his name. I just was a little upset when I saw no ramp or slope at the first step of the hostel as it was a put off for me because my expectation with Ostello Bello is that every property of it is very wheelchair friendly. Breakfast was really sad as the scramble egg was cold and just a slice of watermelon basically they served breakfast in a plate with one of each thing as if there was rationing of breakfast
