This is an ancient Hindu temple located few km away from Saswad on Saswad-Narayanpur road. It is also famous as Wateshwar temple among the locals. There is a mythological tale narrating a history about the creation of this temple. The construction of this temple was initiated by Saint Changdev. Every day he used to worship Lord Shiva, by keeping the Shivalinga on his left hand. But one hand when he tried to lift the Shivalinga, it didn’t move from its place. He built the temple on the same spot where the Shivalinga was located initially. Later on, it was renovated by Sardar Abajipanta Purandare in 1700 AD. This temple is built in a “Hemadpanti” style of architecture. Here we can see two huge “Deepmal” (a tower on which oil lamps are lighted) outside the temple. There is also a big “Nandi” placed in the “Sabhamandap” of this temple. This place is very clean and peaceful with many tamarind trees around.

While visiting Purandar fort, we visited this temple which was supposedly built in the 14th century or even earlier. This is lord Shiva temple with carving on pillars and demonstrates Hindu temple architecture during the time. A very quiet place, photography is allowed outside the main temple. No entrance fees or parking fees.

This place is situated near a Saswad. It's 2 kilometres away from Saswad. This is an ancient Shiv Mandir. The main attraction of the temple is its architecture. Another attraction is the large Nandi at the front of the temple. There are many tall trees around the temple, which adds to the beauty of the area.
