The mattresses need replacement big time. The breakfast buffet needs better service and management. Food prices don't justify their taste and service. Location is awesome. Hotel building is neat and well kept. Grounds are good

Even though, Chandigarh has so many hotels, amongst them are three, Four and Five Stars ⭐️ . The Mount view hotel 🏨 which is situated at sector-10,Chandigarh, is reputed and widely known for its infrastructural facilities and services. Earlier, I attended a wedding here of my friend. This time, I got an opportunity to attend a wedding of my niece. They had wonderful arrangements, dinning, interior and exterior, inner and outer area is good maintained. All the arrangements right from the decorations to dinning, sitting arrangements, cleanliness, hygiene were at their utmost priority. Food courts and stalls were well maintained, foods were also delicious, must have been cooked by Professional chef πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³, Many high profile and politician keep coming here for meetings and important deals. Its large spacious area provide facilities like dinning, party, meetings, conferences and wedding functions etc …

You call this 5 star? Give me a break. If you like old dusty furniture, patchy wallpapaper and floor, no wifi (!!!) when I stayed there because "the strong winds blew the antenna away". I'm not even kidding. This government run hotel has dirty carpet in the hallways and they're so dirty that you feel disgusted walking towards your room. Staff is also incompetent and not well trained. I really felt bad for them. Breakfast was a disappointment too. Save your money and stay somewhere else in Chandigarh there are many options.

Location is the best in chandigarh . Rooms are dated which give you 90s feel . But the room charges are kept pretty low . Food is okay . Service is also okay It's a huge property with huge lawns and parking

Stayed for two D/N in Executive category room # 226, facing the lawns. The room was really spacious and all stay related facilities were good. The food options are limited at the time of our stay. Due to pandemic situation all food is served in the coffee shop area. The morning complimentary breakfast buffet is very good. We also tried the evening buffet dinner option but it was average. Hygiene was well maintained and they staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and is walking distance from a group of museums and Liesure Valley trails. Also just outside the property is a market with has a variety of restaurants and shops.

This centrally located PSU property surprises you with its large and well appointed rooms, lush green lawns , well maintained grounds and efficient people running it. It offers everything one can expect from a good hotel with great value. Good for both leisure and business travellers. Highly recommended for families as the place feels very safe and active.

I recently stayed at mountview and my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. While the hotel had some great amenities, there were a few drawbacks that made my stay less than ideal. First, the room that I was assigned had no view whatsoever. It was located at the back of the hotel's kitchen and all I could see from the window was the staff going up and down the stairs all day. Unfortunately, my request to change the room was not entertained. So, if you're planning to stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend avoiding rooms from 300-305. Instead, opt for a room with a good garden view. On the positive side, the room was really spacious and had all the amenities that I needed during my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort and convenience that the room offered. The breakfast spread was decent, but it was the lunch at the banquet that really stood out to me. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. However, one major drawback of the hotel is that the rooms have thin walls and the corridors outside are very noisy because of the housekeeping staff. You could also hear other guests coming and going from their rooms. This was quite disruptive and made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Overall, while the hotel had some great features, the noise level and lack of view in my room made my stay less than perfect. If you decide to stay at this hotel, just be aware of the potential issues and try to book a room with a better view and less noise.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We especially loved the resort's pool area. The pool is large and well-maintained, and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas to relax in. There is also a bar poolside, so you can enjoy a refreshing drink while you soak up the sun.

The hotel is in sector 10. Overall a very good hotel, staff was very polite and helpful, rooms were neat and clean. I liked the breakfast and food as well. The food is bit overpriced but tasty. You will enjoy your stay with your family or friends. They have in house gym and swimming pool.

Location wise, it is the best! It is an old hotel and a renowned one. Booked it becauae a friend recommended it. It is a huge property. Oh! The guard assumed that since I am a woman, i wont be able to reverse park my car. Anyway, the rooms are beautiful but they have to work on the mattress. The mattress did not cover the bed. So we could see the wood of the bed. Food was average. I loved the bartender. He has been working there for a long time and you can take out time to talk to him

Location is fine, near popular tourist sites. Washroom in the room smelt horrible, couldn't figure out why. Only 2 bottles of drinkable water for 2 people, they charge for more if you need more. There was an event at the hotel, loud and bright, couldn't sleep until it was over as the room was right in the yard where the event was. Noise at all hours, had people try and enter my room 3 times in the middle of the night, no peace and no security, better off staying at the Hotel The Majestic.

It was the best decision we made while in Chandigarh. This is a 5 star category hotel with luxurious rooms, good restaurant options within, huge and royal ambience. It has a beautiful garden, pool and health club area. The staff was amazingly friendly and it felt like home. The breakfast and dinner options were lavish too. A great place to be when in Chandigarh.

Typical government run operation. Location and property is awesome but upkeep and maintenance needs work. Rooms are a bit damp smelling, carpets in the hallways are not clean and ripped at most joints. It's a cool place to stay if u are not too nosy 😊

The banquet hall AC was not working for most part of our corporate function. The bathroom commode was leaking and overall had a stench. The room needs serious upgrade as most parts looked very old and worn out. Certainly not meeting a 5-star mark, somewhere a 3 star hotel at best.

It is first 5 star hotel on Chandigarh but now sone rooms need repair and maintenance. I have stayed a lot of times and I enjoy staying there as it’s very calm and quite place but busy with events. Location is perfect near by all majors areas and markets. You have plenty of party places just opposite. You have pool and good health club.

The hotel is is situated in sector 10, Chandigarh. It's a government Owned hotel. The rooms are very well maintained and cleaned. Bathrooms are hygienic and clean. Despite low tarriff on ground floor rooms, bathtub was available there. That surprised me. It has its own swimming pool, gym and spa. All nicely maintained and clean. Dinning area is awesome. We ordered chicken biryani for dinner and it was fabulous. Breakfast had many options to chose from. Right from fruits to professional Chef, everything was available. Staff is cordial and very polite. Overall a very comfortable stay and we'll deserved 5 star for the hotel.

Grand older 5 star, great food and service. Older rooms are more spacious, some of the bathroom presentation is a little worn, but overall a pleasant place. Great range of shops and salons over the street. Sector 10 is one of the more high end areas of Chandigarh. Staff are very friendly, laundry was fast and prices reasonable. Recommended.

Perhaps due to Govt. owned and being lesser rates shadow, quality of somethings can be improvised. Food stuff is so-so. Sweet soft speaking is the good thing. If arranged outside through a Halwai, food quality can be better instead of repeat shows under different names of deep freezed items. Sorry to pinch you.

It’s a decent hotel to stay. Rooms are just ok, they need maintenance, nothing like 5 star. Food was good. A big park, swimming pool and other outdoor activities available.

Hotel Mountview is my favourite go to place for a delicious, relaxed, and pampered Indian meal in Chandigarh. This is a government (CITCO) run hotel, right in the heart of the city at Sector 10. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very courteous. It has good restaurants, banquets, party lawns, gym, and comfortable rooms amongst other amenities. Parking your vehicle here may be a challenge at times. Overall this is amongst the good hotels in Chandigarh.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with a beautiful view. The amenities, including the pool and restaurant, were top-notch. I can't wait to return for another memorable stay!

Old fashioned PSU run property which shows all signs of aging including the staff. Staff is responsive and courteous. But still very functional and the old wing rooms are good size and overlook lawns. Breakfast has several options and is well laid out. Nice bed with clean sheets and towels. Also had buffet dinner and the food was nice and palatable. There was live music which added to the experience. Toiletries functional though some could have been better.

Hotel Mountain View is a hidden gem nestled amidst nature's beauty. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel's cozy and comfortable rooms provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The on-site dining was a delightful experience, offering both local and international flavors. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added to the warmth of the place, making me feel right at home. If you're seeking a tranquil escape with stunning mountain vistas, Hotel Mountain View is the perfect destination. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return to enjoy the serene mountain ambiance once more.

Run down place. Breakfast buffet quality not good. It is a govt run place so don't expect professional service . We had an emergency called everyone at 10.00 pm no response . Had to walk down to reception. The corridors are smelling of staleness. Unless location is a constraint, at 6000 Rs there are lot of better places available with better facilities.

  • 3/5 Abhishek M. 2 years ago on Google
I like the place. Old block has good rooms with attached balcony. Negative is they openly lie about breakfast menu. It's a massive spread if you include items which they make on order. But they generally lie that item are not available or not included. You have to be really firm to get the items. That's what happens when the government runs a 5 star hotel.

A complete disappointment in the name of a five star property. The only good thing is that staff is good and assists well. Apart from that everything is disgusting. The property is old and needs maintenance. Paying 6000 for this hotel isn’t worth it at all.

Worst hotel ever to visit. Don't recommend going to this hotel ever. These guys open the room without permission when the guest is not present in the room. So careless these people are that they don't take ask for this. Just open the room n do the cleanup n all. So valuable things are placed in room but careless people like this don't understand. Worst experience ever. Hotel management is useless and helpless in this regard. They don't have SOP for hotel. What they are doing is running a 5* hotel like a 2* hotel.

Managed by citco, food quality is good. Rooms are not upto the mark. Best part is their bakery. You can order and customize your choice of cakes and at decent price

  • 3/5 Ranju C. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed overnight, great ambience, perfect surroundings, food was okay. Make sure you already have told at the reception at least five times that your intercom is not working and you have a person who may need some emergency services. A little bit of training for the staff at the reception could give customers a better experience. The staff in the restaurant was more courteous. Corridors need more ventilation. Overall- you still can stay here.

Rooms are perfect but toilets don't have toilet shower they have jets instead.. Ambience is super... Order anything but pizza... Even a five year old can make a better pizza than them.... But if you choose to just stay then perfect hotel... It's far from airport but hotel arranges cab drivers for you who are dot on time.. Go for it

Rooms were not super clean - large, mysterious smears on outside of trash can, stains on bedsheets... Note in room to remind you to keep valuables in the safe, but no safe in the room. Had to call reception and ask them to bring one. Ironing board in the room, but no iron. Large beautiful lawn but no outdoor seating to enjoy it besides the rooftop bar. Staff was friendly and attentive, ironing service was fast and done well.

Pros: Great location, well maintained spacious property, big lawn.. Rooms are big, bit outdated furniture but manageable. Price: Little on the higher side Cons: food is good but restaurant staff need lots of training. Looks like you are eating in a mess rather than in a restaurant.. they do not even look at customers to check if they need anything. Overall restaurant staff need serious training. Rest all is good. Thanks. Amit

One of the famous hotels of City Beautiful, hotel Mountview Sector 10 Chandigarh has been serving customers very efficiently. It can handle multiple gatherings at the same time in open lawns as well as in banquet halls. Add to that the ambience and well maintained area, this hotel is a must go for the elite parties or stay

We chose this Hotel because of its proximity to where we had work in the city. We had a look at the room before we made the booking, a young intern, Mr. Kunwar showed us the room, he was confident and polite and his attitude played a big role in our making up our mind to stay here. The room was big and clean. The bathroom was okay, it had a tub, but was not difficult to get in and out of, for taking a shower. For the price we paid, the accommodation was more than satisfactory. Lots of restaurants accross the road from it. Breakfast was disappointing as were the staff at breakfast, not a very pleseant experience, but we did not go hungry.. The fruit was cold and smelly. The management of the Hotel needs to be more hands on, the housekeeping staff do not wish the patrons and the corridors and reception bathrooms were being mopped with stinky mops and no one was bothered that this gave the Hotel an unappealing ambience. Nice gym facilities which are privately managed. There was a wedding that took place all night, however the location of our room was such that we were not affected.

Good Stay. Helpful and polite staff. Rooms are also clean but this is a very old property so the rooms have become quite old. Also this is a request to the managment imrpove the lighting of the room as it gets very difficult to study or work because of ooor lighting.

I visited Chandigarh recently and stayed at the Mountview hotel. First and the foremost annoying thing was there was a clothes exhibition setup and I was put up on the same floor. There was too much noise throughout the day. Their staff is pretty average and food too isn't that great. The hotel is in a good location and the garden is very nicely maintained. Their rooms are old and the property definitely doesn't qualify to be a 5 star. I would call it a 3 star property.

This is a great place to get a massage. No extra spa frills but a very clean and REALLY good massage. The ladies are very well trained and massage just the way you request.

We hosted a reception party and had made few arrangements from outside for food and decor. Except for starters and the food stalls we arranged from outside food was not up to the mark with the standards of mount view being out in public. Moreover we had rooms for 2 days and even if it was a deluxe room the room didn’t had any slippers. Fridge was empty to state their were no water bottles. Wifi was not available for the room. To enter the room we had to swipe 10 times only to make the door lock and had to call attendant to unlock it everytime we needed it. So overall it was not a good experience

  • 5/5 Dheeraj S. 2 years ago on Google
Mountview is a quaint old property with a very good cultured staff. We arrived before normal check in hours and yet were offered a room without any issues. The Reception desk is manned by gentle caring souls and this somehow retains the old world charm. I cannot comment on the food yet cos we havent tried it yet but i am very sure when the beginning is so wonderful, the food experience is bound to be better. The markets are just bang opposite the hotel with a bare 5 mins walk. Excellent location Excellent staff and i am sure Excellent food

Despite the fact that there are many hotels in Chandigarh, including those with three, four, and five stars, the Mount View Hotel located in sector-10 of Chandigarh is well-known and respected for its infrastructure and services. I previously attended a wedding at this hotel for a friend, and now I have had the opportunity to attend a wedding for my niece. The arrangements for the wedding were fantastic, with excellent dining options, well-maintained interiors and exteriors, and a focus on cleanliness and hygiene. The food courts and stalls were kept in good condition, and the food was delicious, likely prepared by a professional chef. Many high-profile individuals, including politicians, hold meetings and conduct important deals at this hotel. The hotel's large and spacious area is suitable for hosting various events, such as dining, parties, meetings, conferences, and weddings.

Absolutely terrible! Not worth the price at all. They claim they are a 5 star hotel, but that is clearly not the case. Mannerless and uneducated staff, unclean rooms, poor internet connection, AC and heater didn't work well, the pool didn't have warm water in the winter. The food was horrible in the breakfast buffet. Not a wide range, and more important, didn't taste good. I found a strand of hair in my food once. Not a single non-vegetarian item was served. The waiters were extremely rude and classless. I certainly don't recommend anyone to stay here. While the location is good, the hotel otherwise is terrible!
