It is serene. Every valley is different in itself and i got to experience the same. There are ancient and religious places few kms away. Roads are beautiful. Please be respectful to the wildlife and drive within the speed limits. It’s a peaceful and well respected place, kindly maintain the same decorum.

Visited around new year, found it so colourful and calm. The altitude is not that high, but you can feel the cool breeze, walk with in apple orchids and forests. You can also explore the valley on foot, enjoy trecking on less travelled roads and walking trails. Must visit if you like travelling to peaceful, less travelled places!! πŸ™‚

Karsog is an ancient town and is described in folk tales of the epic Mahabharata. Karsog is the combination of two words: "Kar" and "sog", translating to "daily mourning". According to the Mahabharata, during the time of Pandavas, a Rakshasha used to eat a townsperson each day. During their exile, Pandavas visited the town and learned of the demon. Bhim destroyed a demon by offering himself as food as an alternative to eating the villagers. This relieved the town of its daily mourning. Pandavas build many temples in this area.

Studded with snow ranges (Dophadhar, Dhumoon, MahunNag),lush green forests, singing streams (Emla and Bimla), verdant vales is a tourist paradise. The life and landscape of Karsog is a colourful canvas of a free and fearless society which draws its nectar of strength from the shrines of different deities of the valleys.

Karsog valley in district Mandi Himachal Pradesh is famous for apple orchards and dense forests. In the Karsog area, Kamaksha Devi and Mahunag are the famous temples. Karsog is situated at a distance of 125 km from Mandi and is also accessible from Shimla (100 km) via Tattapani. The place Tattapani is famous for hot water springs on the side of Satluj river.

1st of all it's not a "Tourist destination" like shimla, Kasauli etc it's just a village where people are living in peace. There is no proper attraction to see in karsog valley. Infact that waterfall is also 20+km away from Valley and 20+km in hills if you know what I mean. There is a "Shikari Devi" Temple which you can visit but it's also on heights. Market start closing at 6pm so don't think for window shopping at all. Road to Karsog valley is narrow and people on road are rude. If you're coming from Chandigarh or nearby, Tatapani must be your last spot because beyond it, you only waste your time, energy and fuel.
