Dhodap Fort, the second-largest fort in Maharashtra standing tall at an elevation of 1472 meters, offers a delightful experience for trekkers. Its relatively easy trek makes it suitable for beginners, providing a great opportunity to explore the region's historical and natural beauty. The availability of parking facilities with reasonable charges (50rs) adds convenience for visitors. Moreover, having washroom facilities at the base is an added advantage for trekkers embarking on this adventure. However, while the trek is considered easy, it's worth mentioning that the path is covered with rocks throughout, which might make the journey somewhat painful and challenging, especially for those not accustomed to rough terrain. Trekkers are advised to wear appropriate footwear and exercise caution while navigating these rocky stretches. Despite the arduous path, reaching the top of Dhodap Fort is rewarding as it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The fort itself carries historical significance, and exploring its ancient structures and remnants adds to the overall experience. In conclusion, Dhodap Fort is a recommended destination for trekkers, particularly beginners, seeking to combine adventure, history, and stunning vistas. While the rocky terrain might be a bit challenging, the trek is well worth the effort for the beautiful scenery and a glimpse into Maharashtra's rich heritage.

DHODAP FORT, NASHIK The fort is 4829 ft Second highest fort in the Sahyadri mountains after Salher. Dhodap hill is the second highest hill peak in Maharashtra after Kalsubai and Salher. If you wish to visit DHODAP ask the directions to the locals of the village and listen with full understanding while ascending/descending. You won't encounter much people on the hill. 28/08/2022

I have visited Dhodap Fort on 28 October 2019. There was raining that day and it doubled the fun of the trek. It is the second highest fort after Salher Fort and the third highest point in Maharashtra. It is easy to climb and the there are lots of point where the views are fantastic. Visiting the place after rainy season and in Winter is the best time to experience more fun because there's a lot of greenery.

This fort is a good site for trekkers and adventurous tourists to visit. Accommodation can be arranged at the base village with the help of local villagers. Enough drinking Water is available at the top. However, carry enough water while climbing this fort. The base village is called as Dhodambe from where one can start to climb the fort. The fort is 55 km to the Nashik, about 3 km from Hatti Village, 16 km from Abhona in the Satmala range, Nasik region of Sahyadris.
