Zhingkham Resort, has a best aerial view for the Majestic Punakha Dzong. It also gives you the beautiful view of the whole valley and river circling the Dzong. Rooms and meals are also excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Superb view of the mountains all around from our balcony in the resort. No obstruction whatsoever. The resort is right on top of a hill and has a beautiful view of the two Rivers and the Punakha Fortress . If you are game to walking up and down a few well lit up steps to the dining room I'd give it a five star rating. The staff was very courteous too.

This resort has rooms in blocks. There are 5-6 blocks. For the best view,I would recommend block 1,which gives clear views of the Punakha Dzong, the most iconic structure in all. It is also beautifully lit up at night and looks like a ship. The USP of this hotel is the location and stunning views. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with AC and of average size. The bathroom area is modest and functional. Hot water is always available. There is a small shower cubicle and some basic toileteries are provided. As it is a mountainous area, bugs can quickly get in if the French windows are kept open for too long. I ordered room service from the buffet menu for my entire stay there,as the restaurant was noisy and full of groups, and,I wanted to enjoy my meals peacefully. The food was always promptly delivered and hygenically presented. Liquor is cheap in Bhutan and the hotel prices were quite reasonable. I opted for a bottle of Local Raven vodka, which cost around 1600/-Rs. There are a lot of stairs to be climbed in order to get to the room, which may be an issue for elderly people. The weather was slightly warm, but the aircon was working well and it was quite comfortable. Overall,it was a pleasant stay with stunning views being the highlight!

Very good in all aspects... food spread, ambience, neatness, views from rooms, service, etc Only downside is the elevation for the rooms where you have to climb steep steps to reach your rooms. It gets tough for the oldies to go up and down these steps to reach the dining room.

Might just be the best luxurious resort in Bhutan. The view from our rooms was stunning, there are spacious rooms and quick room service, constant hot water. Meals were good as well, no complaints. The spa however was quite crowded till late so not easy to get a spot.

The location of this resort is absolutely awesome....the highest point in that range. The overall condition of the resort is quite good. Maintenance of rooms and reception area was also good. The rooms were kept nice and warm as we entered so we were quite cold (& wet, having done rafting). The view from room, restraunt and reception area is breathtaking.... The sad part of the stay was food and restraunt. No secret about it...we hadn't looked up the Google reviews earlier, this place is not exactly famous for its food or restaurant. For vegetarians it was a bit of a mess and we heard the non veg folks around us complain too.. There are some nice photo taking view points from where you can see the dzong lit at night, it you are into that.

The resort has a great view over looking the Punakha Dzong. The area will be flooded by sea of cloud when it hit first light. Tips: set-up time-lapse to capture these intense moment. The restaurant served nice food which is acceptable by the Asian. It also serves some Northern Indian dishes. Wifi strength is strong, however, its not available in the restaurant. Hot water is available. But, my guess the tank is not very big. Enough for two back to back shower. The place can be very cold during the night. Though it has a air conditional in the room which enable warmer function. Unfortunately, It’s too weak to fight the cold. There is no gas/electric warmer in the room to support it.

Nice location and beautiful views overlooking the Dzong. Reasonable value, but the rooms and food could be better.

No running water from taps when we checked in. When water was finally restored, it smelt of kerosene and was brownish. Terrible experience, look elsewhere.

It’s a nice resort with a view of Punakha Dzong

The view of the Dzong is stunning but the room is basic, and the service is bleh. The sheets are full of stains. They claim they are rated 4 stars but I think according to the service and the food choices, I wouldn’t rate them 4 stars. There is no water in the shower or in the toilet. I would not recommend to anyone to stay. Very disappointed.

Very nice ambience, excellent breathtaking view overlooking the Dzong & the valley. However food for pure veggies is disappointing. Not much varieties. The rooms were quite spacious, neatly maintained & has large balcony leading to valley view.

Excellent resort atop a mountain opposite to the majestic Punakha Dzong.. the view is its main wow factor.. but the service, rooms and the food are great too.. good for family getaways

Had a great stay. Do note that wifi and power may be unstable in the valley. Try to ask for higher floors with less insects. If you cannot take spicy food for dinner, do let the staff know in advance. They are very helpful to arrange other options for you. The western food options are very nice.

The location provided a great view of the Punakha Dzong. The food was simple and services fine! But the heating facilities in the room were not functioning so we ended up having a really cold room during the cold winter season. Nonetheless, after our complains, we got few extra blankets the next day!

Great location, amazing service but food needs a lot of improvement. It is located at a scenic location and has a perfect view of Punakha Zong. The fortress from the property looks fabulous and it has a great night view of the zong. Both male and female rivers of the town are also clearly visible from the hill top resort. Superb location, a bit scary for first timers..

This was a really good resort. The rooms were great! This was a queen’s property and it was really cool we also got a nice view of Punakha Dzong. We also get heater and AC in the room. There are some power outages in the hotel so you might not get Wi-Fi in between. The food is like ok not bad but also not good. Really less options for food.. But if we don’t count the food, the amenities of the resort are very good!!

The rooms are alright but the view is really great, especially at night with a clear view of the lit up Dzong. However, a main concern and disappointment is the food; terrible would be an understatement. We tried Indian, we tried Chinese, we tried Bhutanese : heavily let down on all 3 fronts. Breakfast was also a big no from us, a sad spread with even sadder taste. It’s truly a shame that the place capitalized on the inaccessibility of other restaurants, located high atop the ranges. A monopoly on food shouldn’t exploit the helplessness of the visitors. Overall, carry snacks to satisfy your hunger as this place can far from satiate you.

I was at Bhutan between 2nd - 8th April 2023. Stayed in 3 hotels and this was the worst hotel I had ever came across. I am surprised they are receiving 5* reviews. From the service I received when I arrived at the hotel to my room were utterly disappointing. Inside the room, from cleanliness to functionality of the things were simply just bad 👎1 example. 8 power sockets in the room. Only 1 is working. I think I am not gg to list the rest of the malfunction items. The only good I can say is the view from my balcony. Lucky I only stay for 1 night.

Punakha is a small town and this is. New resort at mountain top below a local primary school. The view is serenity facing valley andmonutain as well of temple. Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel. Room is spacious and well protected from evening filies. Services is Tip top ,typical in Bhutan

The view from room 307 was just amazing. Rooms were extremely comfortable, but the view of the rivers and the dzong is the best!

Average 3 star hotel. Clean rooms. But the view from the hotel is awesome. Food is not that great especially for Indian vegetarians. But for a night stay easily manageable.
