We had a great weekend getaway at this Inn. We had the cardinal room which gave the additional space of a table/chairs and kitchen. It was very quiet; we didn't hear anyone else from our suite. I loved how soft the water was; very relaxing in the big tub. Delicious breakfasts. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. Easy parking.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect. It was comfortable, clean, and so so so cozy! The inn keepers were so kind and attentive and we really felt at home. It the perfect walking distance to the lake and a bunch of great shops and restaurants, which makes everything just that much easier. Thank you for a great stay!

I stayed here for a solo weekend away. It was an amazing place, and was a great time of relaxation for me. Breakfast was great, the area of Excelsior was super cute, and the owner and staff at the inn were very kind and accommodating. I will come back again.

WOW! Not a detail missed in this gorgeous home! Every corner we turned, we were amazed at how cute and spacious the home is! So much natural light, loved the unique touches of personality and local vibes, you can tell that this home was designed with heart! Each room feels like it's own private suite which is amazing for large groups. We also loved how close it is to everything especially my Starbucks & cute local boutiques! Will be booking this again in the future! Thank you ladies of the Guest House!

We had a wonderful stay at the Bird House Inn. The house itself is beautiful, historic, and in a central location for accessing the shops and lake in the area. The facilities were clean and each room has a different theme/look. There is a complimentary snack bar and a drink bar. Lastly, we had a delicious breakfast prepared; egg bake, fresh fruits, and homemade croissants. Overall, extremely charming. We highly recommend it and will be back again.

Due to a small house fire and dealing with a broken ankle, we needed to vacate our home for 6 days. How wonderful we discovered the Bird House in Excelsior! We were very comfortable and really did feel at home. Dave went out of his way to accommodate me in a wheel chair including assisting us to and from our car. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast each day(even fresh fruit from Dave's garden) and were treated to a special breakfast on Friday due to the wedding celebration of another guest. This was the perfect place for us. Very quiet but lots of friendly chatter at breakfast. We also enjoyed the history of the house and the area. We give the Bird House a five star rating.

What a lovely little inn! We very much enjoyed the comfort and coziness of our room (we stayed in the Bluebird) and the luxury of the bathroom with it's ample jacuzzi tub. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and we so enjoyed learning the history of the house. We highly recommend the Bird House Inn!

I like this property... butt, 2 things. Kinda "expensive" and they are not a traditional B-n-B. Not cooking or providing in house Breakfast. Sadly giving coupons to go somewhere else.. So as I say... "Things are expensive in tha absence of Value"

Very nice large suite, with a private entrance, kitchenette, and bathroom. Wonderful breakfasts and very welcoming hosts. I had shoulder surgery recently, and they offered special accomodations to help me sleep better. A few minor details (such as a missing handle for the bath faucet) would make it 5 stars.

I love this place! I have stayed in the Meadowlark and Turtledove rooms both are remarkable! We love the private off street parking because this last time we brought kayaks to go out on Lake Minnetonka. The owner tipped us off to put in at the beach and check out the islands which was great for us! Also, served a delicious breakfast and had lots of amenities available for us like plates, cups and cutlery. We also love being right down the street from all the shops and restaurants. Even walking distance to Maynards. Great Experience at a great price. We will be back for sure!

My wife and I spent a night at the Bird House In Bed & Breakfast to celebrate our anniversary and we had a great time. The complimentary wine and snacks we're a nice touch, and the group breakfast was very enjoyable. The location right in downtown was very convenient too! Anybody looking to spend a weekend in Excelsior or the nearby area should definitely consider staying here!

We stayed here for a one night anniversary vacation and time to ourselves, as we have seven children and live just a few minutes away, but didn't want to leave the kids for too long or be too far away from them in case they needed anything. We had been hoping to enjoy the lake and bike trails, but due to the unseasonably cold weather and snow, spent the afternoon/evening at the Mall of America and the night at the Inn. We had a wonderful time, and the Bird House Inn was a lovely experience! Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners, everything was clean and welcoming and the breakfast was very nice. The Inn is very quaint, beautifully decorated and affordable. The new bathroom with large hot tub in the Bluebird Room was so nice. We hope to do this again sometime. Thank you!
