We went there recommended by a local and our expectations were definitely met in terms of service and the quality of food. They have a different menu everyday, but the owner accommodated to our preferences being that I am a vegetarian and my husband being a meat lover. It is a taverna for the locals and we were welcomed in a very friendly way. I have had dakos in many places in Crete before, but I liked it here the best. The chef really knew how to balance out the flavors in every dish. We enjoyed our time here and hope to come back sometime soon.

The food has been great, if you are hungry this is the place that you need. They use wood burning stove for the roasted dishes. Very good cuisine. The personnel is very authentic and they care about you. The customers are a hotchpotch of ordinary people mainly of the working class, couples and families. It is very interesting!

It was a pleasure to be here. We had amazing, fresh and local food, served by super-friendly owner. Food portions were huge so rest of our dinner we got take away. We had great time here and strongly recommend this place for real gourmets.

This is by far the best tavern in Chania. There is no fancy menu you can order from, but the waiter (who is incredibly friendly) will tell you what is available at the time and you choose. There are some staples like grilled meat that are grilled to perfection. Not many places can grill chicken breast without drying it out, but this place gets it right every time. You will always be able to order fresh Cretan salad, staka and snails and the daily specials are always fantastic. This is a traditional eatery filled with locals. Don't expect to find gyros or fried cheese here. Traditional Cretan food only.

We were recommended this place by our rental service. This is as local and family owned as it gets. The portions were plenty and we were extra full at a very good price! Spiros is just an all around awesome guy. One of our top places in Crete! Would visit again.

Best priced steak in the city of Chania! This is where you go if you want to eat like a local.

One of the few places in Chania to enjoy authentic, home made, Cretan cooking. The owner will oblige with his politeness. The food is simple yet delicious, based on fresh ingredients. They specialise in meat but fresh fish is always an option. Ask for the catch of the day. In our case we had small white seabreams and red porgies succulently fried (quite common for small fish in Crete). The rooster in red wine sauce was full of aromas and flavours. Don't miss the french fries and the "mizithra" cheese. Hefty portions, absolute value for money!

I've had amazing food here in the past. Now the beef in the stifado was tough to chew, the sauce was thin and uninteresting. The pork dish was very good and it melted in our mouths as we ate it. Snails we're good.

Super friendly place to eat some simple clean food. Everything from family farm. Everything prepared when you order. Clean and simple. Out of the way but worth finding.
