A great relaxing place in the heart of Chania. Combines coffee, playground, watching / feeding goats / birds, etc.

The park has had a face-lift since last year, with new children's playgrounds. The cafe is still a wonderful place to chill out under the shade of the trees and watch Greek life. And good to see the outdoor cinema is still there.

Another lovely garden to visit. Lots of shade under interesting trees. A new and well equipped children's playground. An outside cinema. A cafe with very large outside seating area, a relaxed air and a good menu. But the great surprise, and what makes it stand out from other municipal gardens, is the historic cafe building, proudly upkept in period and with a photographic and newspaper timeliness.

Nice little park with a great cafe , few birds and other animals in cages to look at and nice and quiet .

July 15 2022 - Mostly closed except for the part containing a cafe and turtle pond. No Kri Kri exhibit or other features were open. We tried contacting tourism office and nearby Avra hotel for information about the park, but received no reply prior to coming. Parts of the park appeared heavily graffitied and possibly a homeless encampment. The construction to the walled-off area that seemed (by the smell) to house the Kri Kri, looked unlikely to be done in less than a few months. This construction was the apparent reason for the park’s closure.

A nice escape from the city's noise! Plenty of space for kids to play. They can see local animals in their cages and play with ducks by the small picturesque lake. Adults can get their favorite coffee in the traditional cafeteria. At night during summer, the cinema plays a nice selection of movies that have been awarded in European and international contests.

Just went there. Beautiful brandnew playground, but not much shadow. No animals anymore, as they have been recently removed. They may bring back the goats later though.

It is a pretty park, but there are no animals there anymore (at least not when we visited)

During the hot day the garden provided us with some cool shade. I actually took a nice nap in the garden and it was enjoyable.

Renovated and upgraded. Perfect place for a stroll in the middle of town. Kidengarden facilities for families.

This place is still being renovated with building work ongoing. The cafe has now re-opened. A lovely little park to visit with mature trees.

Not much to see, just a regular park. There is a huge tree at the entrance that’s quite impressive.

Went to the lookal market next to the park and got some fruit to enjoy in the shade at the park. A great place All the locals use to walk there dogs, play with there kids and rewind from work. So if you need a nice little bake it's one of the best parks in Chania.

A garden. Quiet, in the quiet and somehow quiet. Get your book, get your Kindle or whatever and be quiet. Best place to read or meditate if you're a jedi. The best.

I was disappointed, as the garden is quite small and the plant variety wasn't very large. There's a fountain and a water outlet, so you can wash your hands and cool down. There were also several benches, some in shade, so it's not a bad place to rest from scorching heat.

Great gardens, excellent renovation with new european standards playground. All in one with the children library, the cafe, the open cinema. Always in love with this treasure in the heart of the city.

Beatiful garden with a little playground for kids, however the animals had been moved elsewhere so don’t expect to see any of them. It’s refreshing to relax under the shade of the trees on a hot day.

An excellent, peaceful garden, offering comfort and shades during a hot day. Possible to sit down and relax. Public free WC is also available. A very beautiful and peaceful place.

Teeny tiny park in Chania, but hey, it's pretty much the only park so we take what we get. The children's playground was small but fairly new and our son enjoyed it.

A fantastic public garden with centennial trees, recently renovated and equipped with a beautiful playground. Ideal for families with children or people that want to have a relaxed coffee or beer in the traditional café in its center.

The renovation was great. Now waiting till the animal park is ready. Still a nice and quiet place to relax and enjoy a great coffee ☕.

My favourite place to relax in Chania. The beautiful garden with the extraordinary trees alone is worth a visit. The renovated and extended playground for kids is awesome and the cafeteria is simply gorgeous. Make sure to check out the bathrooms. I kid you not, you will be delighted

The cafe really is the jewel of this park. Very large, with great art deco styling. The rest of the park is OK.

So happy this place has reopened in all its glory. Great place to take kids. New coin operated cars in the children's area and good hygiene concept.

Sweets are amazing. Coffee choices are very nice. And good prices for the quantity and quality. Children freindly and animals to see.

A place where you can see Baphomet and sacrifice some leaves to him!

it's really pretty! one of my favourite places here. wish it was a little more well tended but if you want calm mornings in the park it's definitely the place to go. the cafe is a little meh and overpriced though so I'd bring my own drink/snack if you want something specific, maybe from local bakeries?
