MonEs
is
a
gorgeously
designed
small
hotel
in
a
historic
building
in
Chania's
old
town.
The
staff
is
friendly
and
helpful.
The
rooms
are
clean
and
well
kept.
However...
A
historical
building
comes
with
some
disadvantages.
The
room
we
had
was
small,
with
no
closet.
The
toilet
was
placed
in
the
shower
cabin,
so
the
toilet
seat
became
wet
every
time
you
took
a
shower.
Terrible
wifi.
I
had
to
use
4G
roaming
for
a
business
meeting
because
the
stream
was
unusable
on
wifi.
For
some
reason,
even
4G
network
quality
was
pretty
bad
in
that
location.
The
TV
has
a
satellite
feed
where
no
channel
works
and
a
Netflix
app
that
cannot
play
any
show
because
of
the
unreliable
Internet
connection.
It
seems
that
nobody
is
taking
care
of
the
hotel
networking
infrastructure.
And
then,
there's
the
food.
We
went
to
breakfast
with
high
expectations,
given
the
stellar
reviews
and
ratings,
and
we
were
sorely
disappointed.
Most
of
the
food
is
store-bought
(only
the
eggs
are
cooked
in
place),
and
there's
the
famous
pastry
basket
which
only
contains
mediocre
dry
pastry
that
I
wouldn't
usually
care
to
buy
for
myself.
The
"galomyzithra"
cheese
is
an
overly
repetitive
ingredient
(multiple
breakfast
options
+
one
of
the
dinner
menu
appetizers).
Despite
the
unique
architecture,
fantastic
staff,
and
location,
I
would
not
return
to
this
hotel
until
they
raised
the
quality
across
the
board.
