Very nice location, and quite good service, unluckily the dishes quality is not even close to them. We took a Cretan salad: something that I could do easily by myself at home, and for a place trying to show a high end service I expected much much more. The fish and the beef fillets were really good, but the cakes absolutely not on point and we had to leave them. I understand that the competition here is only made by low grade touristic taverna, but if you ask 135€/2ppl for a dinner the kitchen has at least to be a couple of levels above what we tasted.

We came here for an absolutely wonderful romantic meal. We sat in the Courtyard and it was lovely. The staff where very attentive, polite and offered 1st Class service. The food was beautifully presented and expertly cooked. I would highly recommend this place restaurant as a "special occasion" place.

Forget about Elafonisi and come to MonEs. What a gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is great for a romantic dinner: very intimate and cozy. The building is and old monastery and in some parts inside they have glass floor where you can see the ruins. The food was amazing also. We ordered two starters: the octopus, which was beautifully cooked and the cheese tart, which was a delight to the palate. For main course, we ordered the tuna that had a great fruity sauce and the most tender beef I have ever tried in my life. Sadly, we were too full for dessert but I bet they are incredible too. Dont miss this one!

We dined at MonEs for dinner during our trip to Chania. The atmosphere and decor were beautiful, very romantic. Some of the food was great but not to the quality we had expected. Would recommend a visit but pick your dishes wisely. Salads and lamb were a win. Do not recommend the Baklava and the Beef fillet wasn’t the best cut of meat I’ve had. Overall good but not amazing.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Crete. Great gastronomical experience, in a beautiful historical building. Service was very good and helped a lot suggesting the best wine to accompany the food. A must go.

Went to MonEs during our vacation in Crete and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredibly nice, the food was good (I would say cretian with a twist) and the location itself was quite unique and very tranquil, especially compared to the overall buzz in the city. We would have loved a little bit more choices in terms of wines by the glass, but that is something that we noticed almost everywhere. The price is slightly higher than in other places we went, but suited with the quality and overall experience, and still very affordable. Very happy that we found this gem!

A restaurant on the moon could not have had less atmosphere! One of my favourite restaurants in Chania. First of all the aesthetics of the place is extraordinary. All the courses that I have been tasting for years are really nice. Don’t forget to order tuna! Last but not least the employees are really polite, willing to help you and find the way to suggest you what it is better for you.

Hands down the best hotel we've been to. The hotel is an old venetian building in a quiet side alley. The room was beautiful and spacious and cleverly designed. However, the main reason we liked it so much was the staff. The receptionists went above and beyond to make our stay the best vacation we ever had. From restaurant reservations, to directions to bus tickets, none of our questions stayed unanswered and they made us feel very welcome and at home. Shout out as well to the breakfast staff, they new our orders by heart at the end of the week and always had a friendly word. Thanks for all of it!

Review of restaurant: very classy and elegant. Great food and lovely staff which are overshadowed by the incredible building itself. Just go use the toilets- you will be stunned by the architecture and design. A real gem and most incredible place to eat.

We stayed at the hotel for a few days and had dinner at their restaurant one night. The ambience is very classy but relaxed. They know how to make you feel at home. We sit in the courtyard, surrounded by the ancient walls and the unique Cretan atmosphere. The staff is extremely professional and kind (both restaurant and hotel). The food: they offer a selection of meat and seafood, typical Cretan style but with a sophisticated touch and a great wine selection (especially the local one). Would definitely recommend a visit to their restaurant and possibly a stay at this amazing and unique hotel.

Service and food was impeccable. Love that they are using creating ingredients as a springboard to more flavors and presentation. One of the most beautiful places to meet in Chania.

Stayed at the hotel. Mixed feelings, but overall very disappointing, the room was really not up to the standard implied by the high price requested (220€ per night). Pros: the service is friendly and available, the restaurant is good (you can eat there without staying at the hotel) as well as the breakfast (very furnished menu) and room service (quick and efficient). The rooms look new, neat and clean. Cons: there is no soundproofing. You will hear people in the corridor, and noise from outside during the night and early in the morning (construction work, concerts, people, firework…). The curtains are also not efficient enough, and there is light outside even at night. Eventually, it was impossible to have a good night sleep, which is what you absolutely require when taking the already expensive rooms without any special feature (no special view, no bathtub, no terrace etc).

Honestly after seeing great reviews - this was almost a joke. No offend to waiter team that was nice. The appetizer was some left over crust with raw mesclun? No taste no meaning don’t understand… then the starter - the anchovies crostini, the bread was smoosh and the vegetables on top non sens seems it’s a rest of vegetable. Really really disappointing if you like cuisine and food definitely don’t go there for dinner you’ll wait your time and money

Service was perfect, the dinner delicious and the place itself amazing, especially in the evening. Perfect for a date, but I was totally happy on my solo dinner as well. A bit hard to find but totally worth the search. Don't forget to visit the bathroom downstairs. Warmly recommended!

I was visit the restaurant and not the hotel. The menu wasn't big but that is good for me. The plates was very beautiful and tasteful. The stuff was very friendly. Finally I enjoy that they have few tables and it was very quiet. It is worth to visit it. Next time I will try to stay at the suites.

Beautiful evening spent in the historic monestry now a stunning Contempory 4 +hotel and restaurant. The service, food and wine we're excellent. All the food and drink was presented beautifully and was equally matched by taste and content. An exceptional feast. The hotel boast some amazing architectural surprises which are absolutely wonderful and so important to preserve for future generations to marvel at. Take a walk downstairs on a glass stairway to the bathrooms all with glass floors showing 2000 year old ruins that the monestry was built on. Truly breathtaking!

The great advantage of a hotel is that is a refuge from home life.We were impressed and unable to return back to Athens and the urban life. For the first time, we visited Chania and Monastery Estate Venetian Harbor on a rainy March day and we couldn't be more grateful for the unique experience they both offered us during our 4 days holidays, both the old town and the hotel itself. They describe it as an holistic journey that uniquely combines luxury, tradition and contemporary living. It's exactly that and more than that. Their welcoming hospitality exceed our expectations, as architecture and food lovers, and we promise that you will welcome us back the soonest possible.

Definately our favorite restaurant on Kreta. The waiters are super nice and polite. Its super classy and stylish atmosphere combined with delicious food for fair prices really makes it a must go to location. Easy to get a table because it is not located on the main walk ways so it is not overcrowded (yet). Hotel also looks super cool, we are for sure considering going there for our next trip. And special thanks to the waiter who ran after us after we forgot our credit card at our table! You are the best!

The BEST restaurant! The food was top notch, the service was fantastic, the ambiance, mood, vibe, music, … GREAT! Highly recommended! Thank you for everything!🩷 P.s. the ice cream on Chalva isn’t vanilla! It’s something very delicious! 🫠

Everything about this place is excellent. Breakfast, staff are next level, location, rooms. I highly recommend this place. We were 2 people and had a room with a jacuzzi, and breakfast included. Being in such an old building, that has been restored, was lovely. The thing that made it was the staff. From the warm initial reception, to helping me get an emergency physio appointment... They were superb.

Wonderful, excellent food, staff was lovely, room with a rooftop was terrific. It was also very quiet despite being around the corner from many lively bars. One thing of note was the electricity/outlets were just not what I am used to and gave us very minor difficulty that was not a problem

This place is exceptional! The service is incredible and the rooms are high-ceilinged, spacious and feel very luxurious. Everyone was so accommodating, particularly Stella and Costas (from reception), and Stephania!!! (from the restaurant). The included breakfast is unbelievable - you can order anything you want from the menu (and as much as you want), no questions asked. Everything felt so easy and this made the trip extra special. The rooftop of the apartment with the jacuzzi was awesome!!! Great views! 5 Start! Definitely worth the money!

This was our highlight in Chania, the service wad impeccable, the atmosphere was quiet and intimate and the food was well prepared and delicious. Located near the Port this fine dining restaurant is a must if you're looking for a romantic dinner. Right when you walk in you're greeted with kindness and a see through floor of ancient ruins. The service was extremely attentitive and on point with anything you'd need. This is a must for me in chania and I will reccomend I to anyone on the are. Ευχαριστώ πολύ mon es familia for making this an amazing dining experience I will never forget!

MonEs is a gorgeously designed small hotel in a historic building in Chania's old town. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept. However... A historical building comes with some disadvantages. The room we had was small, with no closet. The toilet was placed in the shower cabin, so the toilet seat became wet every time you took a shower. Terrible wifi. I had to use 4G roaming for a business meeting because the stream was unusable on wifi. For some reason, even 4G network quality was pretty bad in that location. The TV has a satellite feed where no channel works and a Netflix app that cannot play any show because of the unreliable Internet connection. It seems that nobody is taking care of the hotel networking infrastructure. And then, there's the food. We went to breakfast with high expectations, given the stellar reviews and ratings, and we were sorely disappointed. Most of the food is store-bought (only the eggs are cooked in place), and there's the famous pastry basket which only contains mediocre dry pastry that I wouldn't usually care to buy for myself. The "galomyzithra" cheese is an overly repetitive ingredient (multiple breakfast options + one of the dinner menu appetizers). Despite the unique architecture, fantastic staff, and location, I would not return to this hotel until they raised the quality across the board.

The service was very nice, also the Roussanne (white wine) was excellent 100% recommend, eventhough it'snot the cheapest. The restaurant itself has a very nice vibe, very clean also - and as stated: the service and server in general did a great job! It was maybe just our meal, as it was pretty packed today and the prices were absolutely okay: The menu per se was very promising, the execution was not as well done as the reviews stated. My pork belly was through, but very jelly-like (the fatty part) and kind of dry (meat part) and the shrimps which were served with the linguini were very mealy, plus there was no balance regarding the sweet taste of the squid ink (bit more acidity would have been nice). The octopus, as a starter, was okay, just needs a bit more color. As said: the kitchen had a lot to do this evening, maybe it was just our meal. Service 5 stars, meal only 2-3, therfore 3 stars in total (3+).

Great food and nice place if you are in the courtyard. Great staff, very nice. My only regret were the home cocktails, too sweet for my taste. But except that, a really nice place. 10/10 would go again. Sea bass tartare was amazing

The dinner here was absolutely amazing. The place is a little bit hidden, but it's worth finding it. We had the caramelized pork belly, followed by lamb shank and tuna filet. It was really good and the price is more than fair. The service, the atmosphere and the ambient was really perfect. Can recommend it 👍🏻

My girlfriend (now my fiancee) and I came here during our visit to Crete. The building is beautiful, all of the food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. This is fine dining on vacation at its finest. We got the octopus, beet salad, and Cretan tart to start. Followed by the sea bass and the pork belly as entrees. And for dessert we got baklava, cheesecake, and the biscque hazelnut. With two glasses of wine and regular drinks it came to €127.50. P.S.- to the staff thank you for making it such a wonderful experience. My fiancee and I will always treasure our proposal memories there.

This is a beautiful restaurant - set in an old monastery. We dined in a courtyard flanked by old, high walls and a blue, blue sky above. The waiters were nice and the food delicious. The wines were good too. And the walk to the bathroom is an experience! The floors of the hotel foyer, stairs and bathroom are glass so you can peer down at the ruins below.

The rooms are stunning and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful (especially Flora!). The hotel is centrally located in old town with tons of great restaurants and cute shops nearby. We got a room with a private rooftop jacuzzi overlooking the town, and it was just perfect! We would definitely go back :)

We had a spontaneous dinner there and it was quite a mixed bag. First of all. The service was very good. Friendly and attentive staff. The ambience inside the open space is marvelous. The food on the other hand was quite a mixed bag. Our starters were splendid. The mains rather bland and not really well cooked and the dessert again very tasty. All in all not quite worth the 100€ we paid for it (incl a bottle of wine).

This is an absolute must visit restaurant when in Chania. The food is exceptional and the service outstanding. We had dinner and sat in the courtyard. The setting is just stunning. Inside is just as stunning and the bathrooms are unique. I will happily go back next time we’re in Chania. It was a truly exceptional experience.

Absolutely loved our experience here. It’s a beautiful location, the staff were very attentive and recommended some delicious wines for us. The food was exceptional, especially the bruschetta, steak and mushroom risotto. Would 100% come back again. Thank you to everyone who made it such a delightful experience x

Awesome place to have dinner. The interior is amazing, and so is the ambiance. The food was a great expierence, it’s like eating in a michelin star restaurant. Staff does a very good job making sure everything is oké and that your glass is never empty. The price of the menu is very affordable. Starters around 9 euro’s and main courses around 20. Absolutely worth a visit!

By far the best restaurant we had in Chania. The service was very professional, the food was delicious, and the place itself is classy, in the heart of the old Town. They also have a good list of wines, which can be appreciated by some. If you're looking for a fine restaurant, you MUST definitely try it.
