We had a great family meal at The Ploughman. We turned up without a reservation and the staff who were very friendly kindly managed to fit us in. The service was excellent. But the food was just outstanding! Highly recommend the steak pie and the lasagne. All our food was so fresh and delicious. Portions are very generous. Kid friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. Can't wait to go back. ☺️

It's a really nice place, with great staff, only slightly let down by some of the food. My Dad had scampi and loved it. My Mum had the roast of the day and loved it equally. I had King Prawns Pil Pil to start, which were delicious. Then I had Fajitas, which were actually quite disappointing. The Fajitas really lacked flavour, and were more spicy than tasty. Although the level of "heat" was just fine. I would go back, but would not have the Fajitas again.

Well I'm very happy we came here for dinner. The food was epic as was the service. Staff were great. Definitely be back. Both had starter and a main and shared a pudding. Very reasonably priced, very friendly staff and welcoming

Had a large family get together and everything fantastic. Service spot on and friendly attentive staff. Food , as usual, lovely, with a large dietry selection to suit every taste. I had the combo salad but noticed I got ham instead of cooked gammon, (which it used to be), but was still lovely.

The roast beef was delicious. I will go back for more. The only improvement I'd make would be to not be asked how my meal was 3 times in the space of 5 mins by 3 different staff. This is purely because I was too busy eating the fine food. Not that I mind them checking in. Thumbs up guys 👍👍

Haven’t been here since Simon had taken it over and I will definitely be back. Great menu choices, very friendly staff and lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food came and I was not disappointed, generous portion size and very tasty. The price is very reasonable. Thank You

Every family celebration this year we've booked The Ploughman, and every time we've felt welcomed, the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing. On two occasions we've brought cake as they were milestones, and they have been helpful, providing cutting board, plates etc. I can't thank the management and staff enough for their hospitality and look forward to all our celebrations next year too.

We stopped off for an early lunch between 2 appointments. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but was filling up by the time we left at 1pm. The food was lovely and the portions generous. The staff were attentive and it was apparent that there's a good local following judging by the conversations between staff and customers. We will definitely go there again.

We ordered 2 roast beef dinners, I asked what it came with and the lady gave a great description of Yorkshire puddings, choice of potatoes etc. She then came back and said they had run out of beef but had lamb, lovely we said lamb was fine. When it came 3 slices of lamb ok, tasteless look warm gravy only on the lamb, 3 small white roasties, couple of table spoons of dry skirlie, couple of small bits of broccoli and a table spoon of carrots. When I asked about the Yorkshire pudding, that was only available with the roast beef. My dad says it was fine but it really wasn’t. Drinks were in small tall glasses with ice, I asked for more drinks in 1/2 pint glasses to be told they were 1/2 pint glasses, no they weren’t. So the next size was a pint so I said ok but I didn’t really want a pint of Diet Coke I just wanted a decent drink. Whole experience was really stressful, came out unsatisfied and still hungry. The place was incredibly busy and other people’s food look great. Roast beef dinners, gravy and lovely big Yorkshire puddings. Sorry won’t be back, will spend my hard earned cash else where

Great food great service and met the man that dealt with all my wedding 12 years to the day . So got to thank him even tho it was in a different place he still remembered. Will definitely be back .

I really wanted to like this pub but no, my wasn’t the best. We went there hoping for a welcoming bar with decent drinks just to wind down after a day’s travel. What we got was a barman that couldn’t be bothered with even a hello or what can I get you. A bar area with little atmosphere and lots of televisions showing football, well, it’s labelled as a sports bar. The other side of the pub is given over to food only. We always try to support local wherever we are but this place clearly doesn’t want it.

I have driven past this place many a time and finally today I took my parent for lunch here and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and staff really nice and friendly. Would definitely go again. Lovely places. Thanks you very much.

Always receive a warm welcome. Staff are very friendly. Food is of exceptional quality. Always a wide selection of menu items to satisfy any diner. Cannot praise the team at the Ploughman enough because my wife and I always come away with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. Well done.

Instead of always trying out chain restaurants, I love trying little pubs/restaurants close to home. The Ploughman is definitely one to remember, it is family run pub/restaurant that has a large menu full of hearty homemade meals fit for all the family. Myself and my Girlfriend started off with the haggis bon bons to share which were full of flavour and well presented, as for mains: my other half had the haddock mornay, I had the chicken goujons and chips which only appear as a starter on the menu but can be made into a main course if asked. The food came out in no time, freshly cooked and roasting hot. The Ploughman is definitely a hidden gem, the food is slightly pricey but tastes great and will keep me coming back for more. They have free onsite parking and a pub attached, I do recommend phoning to book a table as it can be really busy in the evenings and weekends.

Turned up without a booking on a very busy Sunday evening. I was squeezed in as they had no tables available and I was travelling on my own. The scallops and black pudding starter was very nice, melt in your mouth scallops nicely seared with tasty black pud. The main was haddock and chips, it was pretty much the best cooked fish I've had in years; not the usually chewy white rubber you normally get from a pub. A nice pint of Camden pale ale. Service was friendly and quick, would recommend happily!

Excellent place in Peterculter. Changed hands since I was last there but saw familiar places and the menu is still fantastic. Children friendly with a great varied menu and drinks list. A warm friendly welcome always awaits anyone going there. Sit, relax and enjoy.

We were able to reserve a table easily online, received a very warm welcome and promptly shown to our table which was spotlessly clean. The menu was varied and extensive and very reasonably priced. Our meals were brought to us swiftly and we were impressed with the portion sizes. The burger was especially tasty and the 'special' dish of chicken/ chorizo pasta was overloaded with meat and big enough for two portions!! The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will certainly be back when next in the area. Many thanks for a lovely meal

Such a lovely place, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great choice of food we enjoyed the vegan options of Fajitas and Butternut Squash Curry with a side of onion rings really tasty and delicious unfortunately didn't have time for desert so we will return 😋
