It's HMV, so obviously what do you expect? From a vinyl shopping point of view the selection is decent, but anything that's been in the rack for a while will probably be iffy once you get it home, although they do accept refunds for damaged vinyl. Indie alternatives for new vinyl in Sheffield are Bear Tree, Spinning Discs, Record Collector and wax@moorgate.

Brilliant staff and we enjoyed our store and staff here in Sheffield.

Staff always helpful and helped me get some books from the floor because I had my hands full. Could do with baskets as I didn't see them on entry and counter a bit too high for little shortie for me.

Great store good range friendly staff has potential

My band KissKissKill (@xxkofficial on insta) performed here on Saturday 22nd. This is a regular thing on Saturdays and a great way to discover new music right on your doorstep. The layout of the store was great! the collection of vinyl and merch/tshirts was cool too. The staff were wonderful, helpful and informative.

If you are looking for a great selection of DVDs and Blu-rays, as well as a good enough number of figures, it is a great place.

Really good place, lovely atmosphere, overall great place. Easy to navigate and located on ground and upper floor, HMV have a large collection of DVDS, vinyl, CDs, merch i.e t-shirts or collectables. Staff are really friendly

As HMV have diversified over the years there is less and less choice. Popular chart stuff only. Too many toys, record players and tee shirts these days. Not enough music anymore. Got everything I wanted from Amazon in the end. The HighbStreet will only survive if the High Street has the products the people want. Why waste so much space on record players. Its not an item people buy very often and I wouldn't buy one from HMV anyway. I would go to somewhere like Richer Sounds, their staff know about the products they sell. The HMV staff were clueless when asked a simple techie question about record players!.

I haven't bought anything from HMV in years but I thought I'd buy some vinyl from HMV's online store. Unfortunately, when the order arrived the sleeves were damaged in the corner. Rather than returning them by post, the Sheffield store was happy to exchange them quickly and easily the same day I received them. They even had an obscure album in stock I didn't think they'd be able to replace. Really good service.

Great but some of the new stuff not in. Sometimes things are not brand new and are scratched especially the older things. The food things are very expensive cereal £19.99 or pop £3.99 lol. Sales are good for new things. Records can be brought cheaper at our local shop and ordered.

Good selection of vinyls here however the escalator has been broken for around a month now and they don't seem to be bothered to fix it (it has effectively become a staircase). Also, the imported food section is so overpriced to the point where it is comedic.

Who doesn't like HMV?!!! I not a massive fan of shopping on line myself, I'm the type of woman who love's nothing better than a bit of retail therapy! And supporting your local store's is key to keeping these shops on our beloved high street. Music is life and HMV has always been a store I've loved from being in my teens right to the present day! It's great to see that they have a section on anime,I wish it was bigger! But having said that still a great selection. I got myself a couple of great T-shirts that they also have in store. Again big selection of those too,from your favourite band's through to marvel and anime...mine of course is anime! Go check it out!! 😘😘

I like Arty films. French in films in particular. particular ! The staff are no end of helpful and it's a pleasure to spend my cash on some of the most wonderful DVD s.

Plenty of choice. Lots for lovers of vinyl, CDs, Blu rays and 4K. Very friendly and helpful staff. So much more fun than swiping a screen. I would recommend a visit.

One of the last great music shops. Amazon is killing high street retail. Use it or lose it.

Getting better.. More choice.. And things to buy at competitive prices.. A good place to buy vinyl in particular.. And lots more besides.. Cool.

For all the big company's problems, this store has been consistently good every time I've visited. I value hmv's variety - every now and then I need or want something they sell, particularly from tech section, and they've got several reasonable options that I can buy immediately. Friendly and helpful staff who assist with queries. Disabled access via elevator and flat front entrance (no indoor steps). Escalator frequently not working though. Consistent displayed safety measures adhered to. Good for variety gift shopping, physical music and music tech, with reasonable prices within margins for online high street.

So far my one purchase of a morbidly obese kirby was really cheap and really good quality will definitely shop again

Got profiled and discriminated by the security in this shop when I went inside a security man followed me and got in my way blocking my path constantly. Weirdest interaction ever
