😠 I don't know if this business is under new management or ownership but the past reviews do not reflect the current situation here. The portions are small and the price per dish is high. Though I found the food to be good the price is off-putting for the portions served. People often mention good, great, dishes, Indian, curry, rice, ordered, restaurant, price, time,

The food was good but the portion size is less for the price. Most curry includes complimentary rice but it isn't mentioned in the menu nor was it informed by the server. We ordered kadhai paneer and see the portion size for yourself. This is a bad strategy of including rice with the curry. Let customers decide whether they would like to order rice or bread with the curry. Their phone is not working but the staff said it should be fixed in couple of weeks. The air conditioning is not up to the mark. Their grocery store didn't had a trolley and only had baskets which is an inconvenience if you want to shop more.

If I could give zero I would!!! The shame and regret I feel from eating here is worse than when I lost my virginity. 17$ For the buffet for food I would not even feed my dog. I have a very wide palate and love eating culturally diverse and ethnic foods, and never have I ever sat down at a restaurant before to eat and literally spit the food out my mouth. It was so bad that I laughed the whole ride home as a defense mechanism from the trauma both physically and psychologically experienced. My therapist said it’s gunna be hard work but I should recover over time.

Been trying to get the wife to give this place a try. We used to eat here when we was dating back in the Ming Dynasty days. But finally went today & Absolutely amazing she loved her Chana Masala & I loved my Lamb Tikka Masala definitely would recommend. Wife said after 1st bite ya we don't need to drive to another place across town this is it.

We were excited to see that Spices of Nepal started a lunch buffet on the weekends. They had a good variety of dishes, even samosas and rasmalai! Everything was delicious. Will gladly make the trip from Ames for this food!

Well we ordered food while we were on our way to Wichta from madison purely based on reviews we decided to get food from there. The restaurant was empty when we reached probably because it was late. The noodles were not noodles noodles they were more of Nepali curry noodle we didn’t like it. The veg Momos were just ok too. I hope they work on the food.

Raw fish. Will not return. Confused about good reviews. How can you trust food handling when they can't cook simple fried fish. I also got bland watery lentil soup( not impressed) and Naan (also bland and slightly raw dough) My appetite was ruined. I took 2 bites and threw it out. ( mistrust)I was out $18. I did not want confrontation to return obviously raw fish.

I went to Everest for the first time today. It was also my first time having Indian food. The service was great. The staff are friendly. I tried the chicken chow main at a medium spice level. It was just right for my taste. At first I thought the prices were a bit high but once I got my food the portions you get and the quality is worth the price. I will definitely be going back.

Been wanting to try indian food, very happy to find a place on the Southside! Naan is great for dipping into Shrimp Bhunal with green curry. Been there twice this weekend, and will be back for some more!

Was looking for vegetarian options and got into this restaurant. North Indian vegetarian dishes with Roti and kulcha variety were available. Curries were a bit spicy. But, have options to order mild beforehand. They provided drinking hot water too on request. The service was good. The restaurant was empty during our visit around 8 PM. Parking available. Served the purpose.

Unfortunately there's not a great deal of options as far as good, authentic Indian food is concerned in the Des Moines / Iowa area and coming from the UK where Indian food is quite pervasive I have some pretty high standards. And while I don't think this particular establishment meets those high standards (theres definitely better to be found outside the state) the food here is very good for the area and price and definitely one of the better indian restaurants in Iowa that I've manged to find. If you're craving Indian food there is a lot of options and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The food was alright, but the atmosphere was very weird. I ordered takeout but had to wait inside because their phone service was down. The chair was broken and nobody was in the restaurant. The hostess/cashier took a long time to greet me, and when I paid, she disappeared for a while. Just an off ambience and nothing special taste-wise (in my experience). There’s a lot of Indian cuisine in Des Moines and I probably won’t be coming back here.

One of the worst birianyi places I have ever tried. I was visiting Des Moines for work trip. Did a grubhub after reading the reviews from google map. What a mistake! Just wow. Never trying out this place again. It was too spicy, quantity of meat was minimal. Overall taste was bad. Very disappointed….

This place is tops. Totally authentic and delicious. Tried half a dozen dishes and apps. All excellent. Homemade breads were fabulous too.

Could go on for days. Three of us dined in and had such a good experience. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was pretty lackluster but the food was absolutely phenomenal. We've ordered it to go before and thought it was pretty tasty but it's definitely a different experience to dine in. You get a sampling of four kinds of sauces And it's fun to mix and match that with your appetizers and other bread products. Will absolutely dine again.

Highly recommend this place. We found this place on our way to Texas, it was a quick detour from I-35. Best momo I had in the midwest. We went back to pick up food again for the rest of the trip next day. They were kind to change few things for the chowmein i ordered and it was great ☺️

Delivery was on time and food was hot. Had the goat curry, chicken soup, paneer Naan. Both loved the Naan. Goat had too many bones, but good flavor.

We've eaten here twice and the food was great both times. The portions are plenty big. Service was good. Decor isn't impressive, but at least they play theme-appropriate music.

The food was so good and fresh, absolutely delicious. I didn’t even know about this hidden gem here on the south side. The delivery was so fast, I am very impressed.

Not impressed. I was really excited to take my two two year olds out for Indian food for the first time. No straws with our drinks, served a warm mango shake, I had to ask twice a for my kids to have utinsels, at first they were eating with their hands. For the price portions were pretty small. And finally, they charged me more for the dish than the menu price said. They were just like sorry, the menu is wrong. Gonna try and find a better Indian place to eat. This one was just the closest to us. Disappointed in the mushroom dish. The lamb I thought was very tasty though. Overall I wish I had never gone there. They have a lot of improvements to make.

Expansive menu, good prices, great and speedy service, and the most important part - great tasting food! The appetizers and dessert were about on par with what I'd expect (I have high expectations) from an Indian restaurant (I've never been to a Nepal-specific restaurant before this), and both the quality and portion size of the main course were a step above - very good! I got takeout this round, and will definitely be back for more whether dine-in or carry-out!

Food was very delicious. Owner was very kind and made the visit as if I was visiting a relative for a homemade meal. Customer comes first was very well practiced at this location than any other indo Nepali restaurant in town. Will come back again!

I noticed this place a few months back and have been meaning to stop in to check it out, and boy am I glad I did. While the decor is nothing to write home about, it looks like they just put up their decorations over top what was there previously, but it doesn't matter because you are here for the food anyhow. The place is spacious and is neat in appearance. The wait staff is friendly but may not be the best for recommendations, as it seems they like everything on the menu ;-) We had the Chicken momos, Chicken curry, Lamb with mushrooms, garlic naan, gulab jamun, and rice pudding. They also provide some great side sauces to accompany your dishes. The Chicken curry and Lamb with mushrooms, both had great flavors and the meat was very tender. I also really liked the appearance and presentation of the dishes, as the consistency and definition of the dishes were well defined. We ordered the dishes with a medium spice level, at first I thought it was too mild, but it built up to nice flavorful heat. We ordered Garlic naan to accompany our dishes, they have several different flavors to choose from like onion and spinach, however it would have been nice if some plain naan would have been included with our dishes. While we were wrapping up our dinner they provided samples of the gulab jamun and rice pudding desserts. The gulab jamun is a pastry ball soaked in a sweet syrup, I thought the consistency was a little thick and the syrup was a little too sweet for my liking. The rice pudding had a great almond undertone and was not overly sweet. I liked them both, but will probably order the rice pudding on the next visit.
