I won't recommend this location even if it was my last choice. Staff don't care about patients and the only concern they have is getting them in and out. The other day I was seen and waited for three hours, as soon as they put me in the room they only took urine and blood specimens. I told the staff and the doctor and nurse, that I'm experiencing a lot of pain, the doctor saw me for 5 minutes before leaving. Next thing I know the nurse came back telling she was going to give me a shot for the pain and discharge me. I wasn't even there for an hour before I was discharged and sent home. I was told I was fine and to check the patient portal, I explained to her I didn't feel well and was in a lot pain. They didn't even wait to see if I would have a reaction to the medicine, by the time I got home I was in pain again. Next day I was rushed to ER, near my house and advised I needed surgery. This hospital didn't try to run any additional tests besides the ones they took, didn't care to help or even find the problem. Don't come here or even waste your time or money.

Due to the Nature of my career, I've lived all over the country. As a result, I've visited a lot of hospital E.Rs over the past 20 years. That being said, Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital is by far the best E.R. experience I have ever had. From the security to the check in nurse when you arrive to the bedside nurse, CT technician etc. everyone is friendly, professional, informative and caring. The nature of my visit had some scary potential from myself and my families point of view. I was fortunate enough to meet and be seen by Dr. Jason Curry who took myself and families concerns seriously and did everything he could from an E.R. setting to ensure we had answers to the best of his ability. He was by far the best E.R. doctor I've ran into over the years. Thanks for the quality care Mr. Curry! I would highly recommend Roper to anyone in need!

Brought my spouse in the ER. Waited serveral hours to get seen, 1st red flag. Great nurses and friendly staff, but the doctor was garbage, 2nd red flag. How do you get paid 6 figures and perform such a trash job at evaluating/helping people and still keep your job is mind blowing. Not a motivated type of hospital for sure. Good luck to those that have life threatening situations.

I myself had breast cancer outpatient surgery and can't tell you how awesome they all were to me. They all from the lady that check me in and to the nurses, anesthesiologist and Doctor that took care of me explained everything that was going to happen and all went very smoothly. I also had to take my husband two days after my last surgery because he had chest pains and they checked him out, found out he was having a heart attack, after blood test and transfer him down to Roper/St.Francis downtown to a cardiac unit and the nurses was very good keeping in touch with me about his condition and he had surgery a 5 heart bypass. Thank God all went well nurses called periodically to update what was happening during his surgery. He's home and we both have follow up appointments to see our Dr.s now!

This hospital is phenomenal! My son was brought in for what we thought was a mild swimmer's ear, that quickly turned into a severe ear infection with fever. Candace was our nurse and she went above and beyond for us in every way. She made us feel welcomed and comfortable, and treated my k8ds like her own. Dr. Lewis was our ER doc on our first visit, and he was so personable and kind to my family. He came out and personally introduced himself, and treated my son with such compassion. I was truly touched by his humanity. That is so rare to see in many Physicians. He was so down to Earth. He sent us home with ear drops to try, but unfortunately we were back the next day because the infection had gotten worse. The 2nd visit Candace was our nurse again and she was so kind once more. She held my son's hand and made him at ease because he was scared and in so much pain. The entire staff from check in to the cafeteria, security and custodial, go above and beyond. Sedrick, the hospital cafeteria manager went above and beyond when my card wasn't working at check out. His kindness, the warm smiles from staff walking by, the helpful and friendly people there brought tears to my eyes. I will never forget the kindness we experienced here, and thank God this hospital is so close to where we were staying. It's clean and the staff is top notch. Thank God for this hospital! My son got 100% better because of their treatment plan for him. 😊 🙏 Thank you all for your professionalism and support!

I recently had an outpatient MRI and I was thrilled with the entire visit! Deborah greeted me with the most professional manner upon arrival. Monice checked me in, walked me through the process, and was super friendly! I hardly had time to warm my seat and my name was called! The MRI technician Jimmy was so sweet and kind, he explained everything I would need to know, gave me some soft rock to listen to, and gave me a cozy blanket to keep warm. It only took 30 minutes from start to finish!! Very impressed with the parking, the cleanliness of the hospital, and the phenomenal staff!

I was recently at Roper St. Francis as an outpatient and I had the absolute best experience that I have had at any hospital in my life. From the time I entered the hospital, all the staff from the Detria, patient registration, Wendy, lab, and Amy, mammogram tech were excellent! They were all very professional, courteous and caring! I was treated with the upmost respect. I have been associated with many hospitals across the country and this was the absolute best! I am a new resident to Berkeley County so be thankful for this hospital and its staff!

From the registered representative to the laboratory techs, they are always going far and beyond! Love the professionalism and family vibes between everyone that I have met or encountered. Thank you for all that you do daily, being in the healthcare profession, I realize that a lot of people take them for granted. It's not a hard job or easy, however, I am blessed to have met such amazing and positive. Thank you all for treating me like a person and not a number. I can't remember the names of the ladies, she has a sign on her desk that caught my eyes and made me smile. The other was in the Lab. As I was passing the Salad vending machine on the left! Chile Roper is representing all across the board good vibes, compassionate care, excellent caring professionals, and healthy eating! 😂😊 I don't like coming to the hospital, however, they have made it a little easier! God bless you all

I've never waited so long to be seen or to be discharged anywhere in my life. Was told to go to the emergency room by my doctor for cardiovascular problems. Was placed on a bed in the hallway hours after I arrived. It took these people forever to get anything done, and they made me feel like I was a sheet of paper instead of a person. They made my family members stand next to my bed in the hallway the entire time. After I was told I would be discharged, it took another 2 hours for them to bring me my prescriptions and actually discharge me. Worst experience I have ever had in a hospital.

I want to say that I had the best nurse while I was recovering on the 2nd floor from 7/14- 7/16 Nikki was so kind sweet and patient with me. Her PCT and was amazing. My experience with being there for 2 days was good especially since my nurse care was awesome. Thank you Nikki, Eden/ Hannah, Candace. These women should be super praised for all their hard work and love they give to patients. I 💯 appreciate them.

The Roper Berkley Hospital is in such a great location! I moved to this area from East Cooper and I am very greatful that I can use these facilities for testing and routine exams instead of driving to Mt Pleasant where my Primary Physician is located. Be warned, the place is UNDER CONSTRUCTION! There are additional buildings being added for patient services and the Emergency Room needs more beds/rooms because there were patients waiting in the hallway. The staff is always friendly, caring and professional. I recommend RSFH for all your Healthcare needs.

I had a great experience here. ICU love everyone who works in there!!! Just about everyone was super friendly and helpful. There was your standard bad employee but only 2 people I noticed out of 2 different stations. There was like 20 who were great so things were good. As far as hospital stays go this one was pretty good.

I will never come back to this hospital ever again! i was better off going to Trident and that’s sad! i was literally treated like i didn’t even matter! The doctor and nurses acted like they didn’t even care about what brought me in!! i waited an hour even in the back on my nurse in the hallway ! the doctor completely ignored what was bothering me and prescribed me a medication that had nothing to do with my issue!!! very unprofessional staff! they need to show more compassion/sympathy if they are going to be nurses/doctors. my issue was not resolved at all, and i literally walked out from being so frustrated!

One of the most positive experiences at a hospital. Staff is friendly, supportive and compassionate. They deserve our respect for all they do to care for us and our loved ones. The entire staff was professional but I do want to call out nurse Shelley for going beyond my expectations. She spent quality time explaining the diagnosis and how to prevent reoccurrence for my elderly mother. Thank you so much for all you do.

Phenomenal. They were super efficient and fast as possible with the limited space and people on staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, informative, empathetic and made you feel heard and cared for under each person’s circumstance. The facility is new and beautiful. Shout out to the staff in the urgent care ER! From the front desk, the triage (they knew more than all the doctors appointments we’ve been through from previous experiences), Dr. Blue who is awesome, nurse Lindsey, the cat scan team, security, just everyone! They did their best to get us in and out and made sure we got everything checked out to ensure we were feeling better and gave us information and resources for the next step. They made us feel better inside and out. Never thought of leaving a hospital happy before. Definitely recommending this facility to anyone. Great experience, and I really hate going to the hospital in all honesty. They did their best to make you feel comfortable.

I had my gallbladder removed at Roper Berkeley. The hospital is beautiful inside and out. Everyone I encountered was so kind. Dr.Benjamin Ford did my surgery and he has a lovely bedside manner-calm yet confident. The hospital was very clean. Nurses were attentive, pleasant, and competent. The parking was good.

Was brought in by EMS on 5/4/2022. Had not been out of my house since December 2020. I was in a lot of pain and extremely stressed. The ER was packed and my stress level increased. The Berkeley County EMS medic registered me. Shortly there after, I was taken into triage. About 10 to 15 minutes after triage, I was taken back to be seen. The nurses and all of the workers helping me an x-ray and CAT scan were amazing! I have absolutely no complaints about my visit! However, Roper/St. Francis transport had to take me home and I have never been more mortified and disgusted by the way that I was treated. It was female/male partners and the male partner I would not recommend to my worst enemy! I recommend, if they don’t already do it, that they be trained with some sort of compassion and understanding. After all, they are dealing with people who are in pain and or sick. Kudos for my first visit to this facility!

So, I usually go to Trident Hospital or Summerville Medical because it’s closer to home but this time I wanted to try out this newer hospital. The experience was great from beginning to end. We did not experience at long wait whatsoever, our nurse was named, “Liz” and she was absolutely amazing. She was super sweet and caring, very informative and just on point with everything. It definitely made our visit more comfortable. The PA- “Gray” was super chill and very thorough with all the testing needed to help my daughter. I will definitely be coming back here for future emergencies! Thanks you guys.

Today I was scheduled for an echocardiogram at 1:30 pm at Berkeley’s hospital in Summerville. The check in ladies were efficient and nice. I arrived twenty five minutes ahead of my appointment time. Following check in I was in the area waiting room for 35 minutes. Since my time is valuable too and no one came out to inform me of the wait I decided to leave. I went back to the front desk and informed them I was leaving. Two miles down the road the technician called and was not only rude but blamed me. He indicated they were under staffed. No apologies. I have worked in hospitals for 33 years. They seem to be overwhelmed and understaffed with our growing Community. It’s not going to get any better with our projected growth. I will say the downtown location handles it much much better.

My daughter was seen today by Dr. Steven Alan Feingold MD and his service was the worse. I do not recommend Roper at all. We sat in the hall and was moved to another hall once we sat down. They appeared busy and only talked with my daughter for 2 minutes to tell her to take ib and Tylenol. She was in a car accident total lost and they didn't even offer to take an xray or see her body where it was bruised amd swollen under her clothes. I had to request one be taken. And the 1st to people who seen her to check her vitals did not even acknowledge her no words just or a seat offered. For discharge ppwrk to see how her x-rays went we were told to check online the doctor didn't even update us. Then while trying to sign up for mychart we had to ask for assistance which another man came out a nurse I believe and was very hostile to me about getting results. I ended up calling a number to get help wth Mccarthy. They did not plug her social in they had it as all 9's that's why we couldn't get in. Never again will I visit this hospital they do not care about your well being.

I’ve been to the emergency department for myself twice, then once for my daughter, once for my son and I had a surgery there on a separate occasion. Each time the hospital was clean, all staff was efficient, friendly, great bedside manners, very informative, caring and the absolute best at starting IV’s/drawing blood. I have nothing but great things to say about the care my children and myself have received here. And I absolutely love the MyChart App!

Had my daughter there and I will never go back again. I had Covid 2 weeks prior to having my daughter and after telling them this they still treated me as if I was diseased, my husband was not allowed to leave the room once or he would not be allowed back. I had to have a C-section alone after having complications due to my previous Covid status even though it was 2 weeks prior. They barely fed us while we were there- I was brought stone cold food after having it sit at the nurses station for 3 hours before they decided to bring it into my room and at that point it was not even edible food (it looked like someone ate it and threw it up) I wasn’t given choices on something to eat and my husband was not given the option to eat and I had to throw a fit to get him a tray because he was not allowed to leave and get us anything because he would not be allowed back into the room. I loved my doctor but I will never be going back there to have any of my other children. The nurses on the post partum floor were rude and acted as if they did not care either.

Had the best experience with the best staff of nurses and doctors! We came in to the ER and ended up having to go into an emergency C-section that resulted in us staying for 5 days and all the staff made us feel so comfortable and loved the entire time ! Hands down the most caring loving nurses I’ve ever seen. They truly showed so much compassion to us and our baby girl. Would definitely recommend this hospital to anybody that is pregnant !

Went to emergency room at 10:30am on June 21st. Although the er was packed, it was so well run that I was in a room within 30 minutes. For the next 5 hours Dr. Bowers and nurse Sharon took great care of me. I was treated, a plan was devised and scripts written. I feel as if I got the best care possible regardless of the location. I have been trying to schedule an MRI at this hospital for the last two weeks. Last week I actually came in for the scheduled appointment and even paid an initial payment for the procedure. Then, they tell me that I have not been provided the proper medication for the 12 hours prior to the MRI. My chart specifically stated that I had an allergy to iodine, however, I was never instructed to take any medication. Now, I have been trying to reschedule every day for an entire week, but no one answers the phone. I’ll need this MRI to see if I have cancer or a severe infection, but no one seems to really care about me or my health.

My son had to go to the ER because we were in a boating accident. My son is 3 years old and presented with a inch long laceration on the knee cap area. It was horizontal and was about 4cm wide, 3cm deep. From the beginning, they were nothing but incredible. They took the time to understand that my son was non verbal and autistic, which always brings different decisions and talking points up. After the team spoke, they were very clear on their path forward and what steps needed to be done. The doctor took the time to answer questions and kept assuring us that everything was going to be okay. I couldn't have asked for a better team! 3 stitches down 😫. Thank you again everyone, from the front desk, to the nurses, to the respiratory nurse, to the doctor and medical assistant. THANK YOU.

My wife entered the ER waiting room at 0530 with 1 person ahead and was given her wristband and waited a small amount of time for triage. She was given a urinalysis abs blood draw around 0545. We were told “it could be appendix or kidney stones”. One of which, is pretty dire. When I arrived from work at 0620, I went to give my insurance card to the front desk, she told me she would come get it because she was busy. She never did, my wife had to take it back up there. Mind you, there’s 4 people behind the desk. At 0800, we had to decide to leave because we had heard nothing, staff could tell us no reasoning. Utterly disappointing from “the best place to work”.

More worried about scanning bar codes . They don’t listen to patient . I have a history with lymphoma . Had issue spit some blood went here . They don’t listen ! I have white coat . Therapy when I see docs blood pressure heart rate goes up. I told them this well that led me to being in a room from 7:00 tell 3:00 in the morning. All there cared about was my heart rate . But stuck me in a room iv hooked up with beepers alarms going crazy finally 3:30 I’ll removed myself from this nitemare . Told me they were gonna transport me to roper downtown. Waited for ambulance 4 hours. No show. If Somone tells you they got white coat therapy . Should listen not . If Somone comes in with gas all over them you don’t start playing with matches saying look look at you’re heart rate. I’v . timer started beepin I sat there and counted the alarm went off 37 times finally I hit the button told nurse this things driving me crazy she came shut it off ! Nurse came restarted it like 20 min later same thing I’m sitting there machines beepin screaming. O no look at you’re heart rate🤦🏻🤦🏻 sick place! Strictly a money pit..

I had a procedure done here that I was pretty nervous about. A sweet lady, Ms Lynn, walked me from registration to the waiting area. She could tell I was very nervous and she was extremely comforting and encouraging. She came back to check on me in the waiting room about 10 minutes later to make sure I was all right. And then spoke to me again as I was leaving. Ms Lynn was just who I needed today to make this better!

Despite really bad reviews and bad word of mouth, we had a good experience. We arrived 3:30am due to my child's symptoms with asthma. We were taken to get vitals almost immediately, no TONS of paperwork just 2 new patient forms very short and was taken back right after vitals. We are grateful and every staff member was sweet, gentle and had a welcoming and empathetic touch of care. Thank you Roper!

I went to the ER last night with heart issues. I was dreading the whole ER experience but was surprised how well it went. I did not wait at all to be taken care of. I was attended by three nurses and the doctor who monitored me, did testing, took an X-ray and consulted my cardiologist who is associated with a different hospital. They answered all my questions, were very friendly and understanding. I felt confident they knew what they were doing. I left with one med dose in me and a prescription in my hand that should take care of me until I see my cardiologist. I would go there again if needed. What a relief! I’m glad I went there. Thank you!

We had to rush my Dad here! He couldn't breathe! Every single person from the security guard and front desk all got him help right away! He's in the ICU and every single nurse and Dr have all been so kind! They take time to explain everything to us! They call us after procedure's! I have never been to a hospital as amazing and pleasant as this one! They saved my Dad's life were just hoping he can come home soon. But we know he's in the best hand's right now! Thank you to every single person who has been involved with my Dad and family! You all are the biggest blessing to us!

Went into the emergency room yesterday and was charged $230 because my eye was super red and sensitive. The “doctor” hence the quotes cause I’m sure she was a random staff member did 3 tests on my eye and found nothing. This morning I (a non doctor) found 2 cuts on my eye myself. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Don’t go here. The staff treats you like trash. Rude and childish, they don’t care about what you’re going through, the nurse that came into my room stomping his foot and looking at his nails while I was attempting to speak to him about my concerns. Doctor prescribed me antibiotics for NECK PAIN, without proof of infection. I was shocked at the audacity he had when I asked “antibiotics for neck pain?” and he goes “you have any better ideas?” yes actually I do. Never go here.

I have recommended this hospital several times, based on cleanliness and shorter wait times, however; I just took my daughter there this morning, and despite the fact that my daughter has been suffering with severe head congestion, causing her entire head to ache, along with her jaw and teeth, has green mucus, conjunctivitis, a bad cough, fever, and nausea, which has gone on for 5 days, the doctor refused to give her an antibiotic, stating that these symptoms don’t necessarily mean a sinus infection. Well, it doesn’t mean that it ISN’T a sinus infection either. She was negative for Covid and flu, as well as negative for any urinary or kidney issues. I called the doctor back and practically begged her to give her a z-pac or something, but she refused and said they’d be glad for her to come back in! Hours later??? After receiving a $1700 bill???? They can’t write a prescription to TRY and get rid of this? NOW, tomorrow she will have to try and get a Tele-Doc appointment, so that another doctor may help her. It’s not like this has only gone on for a day or two. They gave her fluids, Zofran, and cough med pills. This also happened to my mother when I took her AND we had to go back the same day. Now I am done, I will not ever trust them again, unless there is some other emergency where I feel there is no other choice.By the way, when you look up symptoms of a sinus infection, my daughter has EVERY SINGLE ONE. Why after suffering 5 days and presenting all the symptoms of a sinus infection, can’t they prescribe something to try and help. Doctors do this all the time, especially if they do not know 100%. Maybe they’d like her to come back in, so they can give her a dangerous and expensive CT scan to MAKE SURE. Personally I’d rather try the antibiotics than be exposed to high radiation and another $1700 or more bill. This is not acceptable. It shouldn’t be this hard. After going to an ER, you should be able to get some help! She shouldn’t have to jump through hoops and get a tele-doc appt. Guess what? It would have been $1600 cheaper as well!

I came in Monday for very bad pan in my lower right stomach. I have issues with ovarian cysts and torsions in the past. I went into the ER. The staff that where there before the 7AM staff where very nice. They did all of the tests to check and see what was going on with me. I can see on the mychart when they started to not take my health issues serious. Ive had papsmears done in the past year and have not changed partners. I had told the doctor before they changed shifts that so i didnt need a wet prep. The new doctor came into the room after issuing the new staff to make me do a wet prep on my own. I was not told nor shown my discharge papers by him. nor did he tell me what they said. all he told me was "There is nothing wrong with me" While I cried because i was so frustrated wit this. The female doctor and nurse showed me papers when i asked about what they said and then when i asked why my urine test said abnormal they said oh its nothing. On the way home I checked the mychart and it had Bilirubin in my urine. The test results where not posted from the wet prep at discharge and they had tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoeae, Which came up negative, no surprise. The discharge papers had ruptured cyst on it and it was breifly mentioned by a doctor that I could have a bile leak from when I got my gallbladder removed. I am not okay with this, I feel like the new day staff came in and sent anyone who was there home when I had only been there for a couple of hours. I am still in major pain and i refuse to fill the oxy they sent me with. Which was a script. Not sent to a pharmacy. Because that wont make my pain get better. There is a cause of this pain I am unable to sleep, eat and even work.
