The app they want you to download to order food and drinks wouldn't work with American phone numbers. Nobody was very nice, we had to ask for service. Food service stopped early in the night. Men's bathroom stairway reeked of urine, but wasn't that dirty or unpleasant in the actual bathroom.

Living in central London I'm not usually shocked at prices but being charged £6.70 for a bottle of non alcoholic beer and a bag of crisps did it. Looking at the menu a regular sized glass of bog standard wine was around £7 and fish and chips (probably frozen) was £16.50. I know pubs have had a torrid 18 months but this is off the scale. I went to The Royal Opera opposite after and the bar there was a fair bit cheaper than the pub. That's never happened before. Having said that it's a pleasant pub and the staff were good.

No cocktails, only thee types of whiskies served, no good variety of food. Hard to find a proper place at the city centre, as usual

Amazing food, probably one of the best Chicken, Ham and Leek pies I've ever had . Was crammed full, and had crispy bitter pastry. Also plenty of Gin options to choose from!

Popped in for a drink before a theatre show. Good pub atmosphere, even on a Monday night. But disappointed that there was no cucumber in my double Hendricks. The toilets looked good.

It's a pub in London and it's rather nice. PS one of the barmaids is related to royalty too

Lovely place for a drink! The view from the terrace is amazing, but always full of people, so we had to sit at the ground floor. You may need to reserve a table, check that before you go. Don't eat olives, they are very salty, soggy and tasteless

Great pub in London 🇬🇧 We stopped to have a few drinks (cocktail and beer) the cocktail were amazing, variety of choices, the bartenders are nice, the place is really big has 2 floors therefore much place to be sitted even on crowded weekends.

We were in London for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and we're looking for a nice place to eat and chose here. We walked in and downstairs was quite busy with office workers etc as most bars are after 5 and ventured upstairs to the second floor. It was lovely up there with the French doors open looking onto the square and very modern decor but in keeping with the building. We had friendly attentive staff who took our food and drinks order and notified us there may be a delay in food which was good as many don't and I find annoying. The food was absolutely scrum and very rich, I had the hash browns to start followed by the rump steak which was pricey but worth it. All in all a great experience and we both loved celebrating our anniversary there.

Couldn't say about food as I didn't eat there. I did see people eating roast beef, scotch eggs, and sausage roll. The ambience is good. Lovely old type pub. Definitely will visit again. Roof terrace as well.

A great multi floor pub with excellent bar food and good friendly staff. They have tv screens for the sports too which is great to have. I really enjoyed the scotch egg and sausage roll washed down with several good pints of Guinness

Had quite a few drinks with colleagues there. Liked the atmosphere and the service. Had not tried the food. Would definitely go on my good to drink in list

Went to have a Sunday roast. Booked seats on the rooftop, which is a beautiful spot. Food was average. Ordered the roast chicken and the vegan wellington. The roast potatoes were definitely warmed up, not freshly baked. Same with the rest of the meal. Would avoid the vegan option, didn’t taste nice at all. Would probably go back just for drinks on the rooftop and some fries but the kitchen isn’t worth trying.

Lively Covent Garden pub with loads of space and a great atmosphere. I pre-booked an area for my birthday and the staff helped out with the decs and cake etc. They could not have been more helpful, accommodating and seemed genuinely to enjoy the occasion. We will definitely return.

This is a lovely pub to the east of Covent Garden. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the place is clean and tidy. I recommend booking a table as it does get quite busy. The food arrived promptly and was of good quality. There were some items on the menu however, that they did not have available; the chicken Kiev, sausage roll and cheese board (who runs out of cheese, it lasts for ages). However, the meal was enjoyable, not too noisy and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

It's quite a good pub in a very busy location. Clean well kept establishment with good staff. Extra points for clean loos. Prices are very London, that is eye watering for non Londoners.

Busy on a 'touristy' afternoon between Christmas and New year. But the friendly bar staff were holding their own well and a small mistake with our food order order was quickly put right by empowered staff. Good choice of beers and Young's winter warmer was on and in great condition. Expectations weren't high given the area, but we had a great stop, and will revisit.

First time in London, and I had to get my fish and chips. The tour guide recommended Marquess of Anglesey, and several of us went as a group. The experience, got to say. This restaurant is a keeper. Service was exceptional!!! She explains types of drinks and food with ease. The food was fantastic. The majority of us in the group actually had fish and chips, food was delicious!! Fish was fresh, and portions were large, French fries (chips) were so good. Brussel sprouts with pieces of bacon. So good. No one from the group hated it. They all loved the food.I would definitely recommend it. I will definitely go back again.

Decent Young's pub on Bow Street in Covent Garden. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited. Smart Lady Charlotte bar and restaurant upstairs.

Great regular pub for central London meet-up with friends. Drink prices expensive but reasonable for London and service quick despite being packed. Got a table near the window. We will be back.

Food is always good. They should look at their beer prices. £6 per pint doesn't encourage us to stay. Friendly staff. Good service.

Looking for a London pub lunch, we found the Marquess of Anglesey near Covent Garden. The staff were very friendly and we some freshly made sandwiches 🥪. They were quite large, but packed with filling. Thanks.

After having lived in London for a few years, whilst at the same time being an avid Guiness consumer, I thought it time to go in search of the best pint I could find. I had previously visited the Coach & Horses just around the corner, which poured a great pint. Nonetheless, afterwards I with friends popped into the Marquess of Anglesey for some grub, which I thought why not have a pint of the good stuff with! I started chatting to the bar manager, Oisín, an irish guy who was not only knowledge and a great guy to chat to, but also poured the best pint I have ever had in London. I cannot deny the pint was incredible. Fantastic domage, great shtick and also an old school glass. Highly recommend.

Very lovely upstairs gastro pub with a great serving team and delicious food. The scotch eggs were amazing as was the baked Camenbert [both highly recommended].

Great Young's pub spit across two levels. Was looked after by a fantastic team member who ran the whole upstairs solo whilst the rugby was on last week. Great stuff

I love it here. It's clean and comfortable with friendly staff. A nice pot of tea. Gentle music in the background. For Covent Garden it not to bad on price

Superb position for pre-show bevvy. Check out the pictures around the bar, they are fantastic, especially the Queen Mother pulling a pint (I reckon she was working a quiet shift). I will definitely go again when visiting theatre land.

It's a Young's pub, the doorstep fish finger sandwiches go down very well with a pint of bitter. It's like having the best of your childhood and adulthood rolled into one! Recommended!

Great pub in a good location, being just a block away from the "buzz" of Covent Garden. Good choice of beers, so it makes an excellent place for a pre dinner drink before moving on to one of the nearby restaurants.

Came in the other day after work, absolutely loved the vibe. One of the best pubs in the area for sure. Great alcohol selection, friendly staff (especially the girl with curly hair, Jess I think her name was?) and just a nice vibe all round. Loved it!

Great pub though being from outside of London the prices were shocking! £20 for two large glasses of their cheapest wine. That is why we don't go to London very often. But yeah, what you expect in Covent Garden really. The staff were lovely and great atmosphere, very friendly

I spent last week in London working and found myself in the Marquess of Anglesey a few times! It’s a lovely pub in the centre of Covent Garden that serves great food. I highly recommend the steak & ale pie…it’s was delicious, loads of big chunks of steak & rich gravy. I couldn’t help myself but eat there again. Second time around I had the katsu curry chicken burger. The pickled carrot & cucumber in it took it to another level. I even dreamt about it that night 🤣 massive thanks to Mark & Sam behind the bar, they’re great & make it so welcoming. If you’re in London. Go pay them a visit. You won’t regret it 😊

Came here the other week and had a great time in their upstairs bar. Was served by a lady named Arya (not from game of thrones!) who made some amazing cocktails and the music was so good. Would recommend

Large group for an evening Birthday event on a Saturday night. We were given tables on the covered top floor. Lovely modern relaxed setting, but still with those traditional pub vibes. Very comfy seats and plenty of space for the whole group. It was out of the main thoroughfare away from the busy downstairs. There was a bar with very attentive, friendly staff. I was running late but other members of my group were able to get there and the staff were ok with them signing in for me and going to the tables. Really great evening, would highly recommend.
