Visited for the first time. Pie of the day was delicious, fresh local meat, huge portions- reminded me of pies in Devon! Mash and chips were good too. Staff were friendly. Parking was on the road, its a small road which I can imagine at peak times would be busy, but there were no parking restrictions. Inside was a little small not a huge amount of seating and the outdoor seating was only 4 tables (overlooking the road and then the lake), but overall a decent reasonably priced country pub with seemingly good quality food. Worth a visit, would recommend opting for their local food!

Great location opposite Chipstead Lakes. Parking is on the road. The green is wonderful and you can take your drinks over from the Bricklayers Arms. Reasonably priced drinks and food. Great for a family picnic or just a brief stroll...

Without trying to repeat myself here, The Bricklayers Arms is outstanding. Immensely popular and incredibly well run. It has an Old British feel that appeals to most of us. The Staff, proprietors are all warm and welcoming, courteous and hugely efficient and the Meals plentiful and again, outstanding. To top it all, as well as a being in a beautiful setting, the prices are anything but high!!! I couldn't recommend The Bricklayers Arms more highly

Awful food, frozen fish fingers not even best quality in a sandwich costing over Β£10!!! Would expect freshly mage coujons for that price. Burnt chips not even home made. Even the couple next to us who were regulars said the place had gone down hill. Definitely wont go again. Staff not even bothered.

Great experience !! Food was amazing and the portions sizes were brilliant. They managed to fit us in last minute on a very busy day (Easter Sunday) and the service was second to none. Will definitely be going back and would 100% recommend. Thank you guys.

Looked excellent and what a spot it's I'm with the lake close by across the green. Harvey's Sussex Ales is a great attraction. Looking forward to a longer/fuller visit which should include sampling their food.

Would certainly recommend The Bricklayers Arms for food and/or drinks as it is a beautiful little pub. Food was tasty and well presented, service was quick and personable, facilities were clean and well maintained.

Very disappointed as this used to be the best place to eat

Iam not sure why the ratings are so good for this place. Perhaps they were having an off day but our food was shocking. Fish and chips ,the fish was over cooked and had small amount of fish in the onion rings were rock hard, and my portion of chips must of been the end of bag a plate full of little over cooked chips. Garlic cheese bread soggy and greasy. Not once were we asked if the food was OK. And for a Friday afternoon the place was empty if they serve food like this iam not surprised.very poor won't be returning any time soon.

We came here for the Sunday roast, and had the roast pork and roast chicken. Both dishes were great and generous in portion. We shared an apple crumble as dessert. The apple crumble was ok, but it came with a lumpy custard which was the only disappointment we had. Generally, a good place for Sunday roast.

Looked on Google maps for somewhere near the M25/A21 junction and Bricklayers came up so called in on the off chance of a table. Arrived about 18:30 and all but one table was reserved so we were very lucky. We were seated in the restaurant which had a cosy atmosphere. Our waiter (sorry didn’t get his name but he reminded us of Tom Daley!) was very friendly and suitably attentive. Food was very nice, and I was a particularly pleased they offered smaller plates of most main courses for smaller appetites. Very glad we found it for a stop off on way to Hastings from Silverstone!

Went today for the first time, trying to support locally, Sunday roast. On arrival no one appeared to be in charge, no greetings or welcome. Young staff serving, basically require training in customer service, lacking experience. Table was not set correctly on arrival. Food very average, run out of beef. Will not be in a hurry to return, shame.

An ideal meeting place for a catch up with a friend. We had a table for two in front of a long fire. Very welcome on a freezing day. The food was very good and not expensive given the quality. But the beer was the highlight. Harvey's Bitter from barrels on the counter behind the bar. Properly kept and served. Wish it was my local.

Met with a large group of friends, service was good considering how many there were at the table. BBQ chicken burger was large and tasty- tiny bit dry but still good.

A find on the internet to break up our journey home. What a little gem of a pub! Great service, amazing food and catered for 15 with dietary needs with no fuss. We want to return!

Nice pub with lovely food. There's so garden seating as you might have expected from the pictures and the kitchen closed at 8:30 instead of 9. Staff are attentive and friendly.

Lovely lunch. Good food reasonably priced plus attentive service. Shame not more outside space. Loved the Lemon sole. Will be back!

Friendly service and sizable portions. I recommend the sausage and mash although the onion gravy could have been thicker. They also accomodated us by doing sausage and chips because one of our guests didn't like mash. I had the cheese burger with bacon. I dont think the bacon added to the dish but good all the same. The desserts were really good. I would recommend the Bailys cheesecake. The 3 scoops of ice cream was good with the salted caramel getting a thumbs up. There was a good selection of beers. Harveys IPA was nice.

Come on guys! Usually good food here but the veggie burger today was appalling. Hoping it was a mistake and they forgot the fillings! Veggie burger was a DRY bun and a Patty with no sauces or salsas! Just an embarrassingly small singular lettuce leaf and a singular slice of a small tomato. I wish I took a photo. So dry! So plain! So empty! Rest of food in restaurant looked good, so please please improve this dish! Add some onion, maybe even caramelised! Add more lettuce! Add a spicy tomato salsa or relish! Add a mushroom or some cheese! or some pickles!! Please lord add Somthing! Because as it stands, it’s not worth the cost. Staff are friendly, service was good πŸ‘Œ

Whats happened to this pub, staff didnt care. Both meals were terrible quality, warmed up pre cooked food that was inedible. Never had this experience from this pub before

A bit disappointed. Lovely country pub excellent location, parking an issue.View over green and lake amazing. Meeting friends for lunch we found service a bit hit and miss. Fish cake a little over cooked had to ask for the skinny fries but fat chips arrived, no explanation. Young lady wasn't sure what soft drinks they had, obviously new. Apart from above a nice lunchtime.

Visited for belated Fathers Day/Sunday lunch, good atmosphere & very attractive traditional pub. Food overall was good, but quite small starter (2.5 slices bread for 3 people?) & wasn't keen on soft crumble on top of dessert - why not serve in proper dessert bowl not tiny dish on huge plate! Service was a little patchy & had long, long wait for 3 x pots of tea at end of meal, hence given 4 stars

. Went their for a birthday celebration. A lovely village pub. Attentive staff, great food and choice of beers. Very clean environment throughout. Most importantly, a big welcome for the dogs. Definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Family birthday that fell on quiz night . Quiz and set menu Β£15 two course Β£20 three course. Limited choice, needed a burger on the menu, I had mushroom starter 2 small mushrooms with breadcrumbs sprinkled on, underwhelming, Main pork stroganoff it was very salty food very average, Nice atmosphere, not been there for years, appears to be a popular old school local. I'm into real ale drinker the ipa I had I didnt like just probably made wrong selection. Staff friendly got whole pub to sing happy birthday to my daughter which was nice Be nice in the summer by the lake

Great atmosphere, lovely food with lots of variety, a lovely lake view, and staff that will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. Best pub I've been to in years.
