Very nice pub with great outdoor area, covered seating is available in case of rain, good selections of drinks but the most amazing was food, one of the best burgers I had in recent years, served with pickles, tomato, bacon and cheese, French fries on side. Cooked to perfection, thick putty evenly cooked nothing burnt, order took only few minutes to be ready even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon. Definitely will visit again!

Nice garden to come and grab a drink with some snacks if the weather permits. The service was good at the bar and they brought our pizza on the table. The pizza itself wasn’t particularly great but I came here for the beers so all good.

The Black Lion is a traditional English pub located on the north bank of the River Thames in Hammersmith, London. It has a long and rich history, dating back to the 18th century. The pub is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, its excellent selection of beers, and its food. The Black Lion has a large and spacious beer garden, which is perfect for enjoying a drink and a bite to eat al fresco. The beer garden is also dog-friendly. The pub's interior is cozy and inviting, with low ceilings and open fires. There are several different rooms to choose from, each with its own unique character. The pub also has a skittle alley, which is a great place to have some fun and competition with friends. The Black Lion's food menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. There are traditional pub dishes such as fish and chips, burgers, and pies, as well as more modern options such as salads and pasta dishes. The pub also has a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The Black Lion is a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike. It is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink with friends, or to have a meal.

We stopped here on our way back from the Fuller's brewery, a nice place next to the river with a huge terrace and lots of outdoor tables. We enjoyed our pints here, nice atmosphere, calm and relaxing.

I rarely write bad reviews, but the service here was terrible. We ordered just a beer and burger right 10 min after they opened. After waiting over 30 minutes, I went to ask them if our order was coming soon since we had to leave to catch a train and the waitress was just really rude. Saying that they couldn’t find the order and putting the blame on us. Note that we had already paid for the burger! My boyfriend had to convince them that we had ordered it. We ended up just taking the burger to go pretty late and with the waiters not admitting that it was their mistake. It’s a shame because this place has a really nice outdoor area and we were really looking forward to enjoying a meal here.

Cute, quaint, cosy place. I really enjoyed the overall ambiance and vibe of the place. The outdoor seating is very large and cute and equipped with heating lamps. There are cushions in the wooden benches and blankets available to keep warm. The staff was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately I wasn't super impressed with the food. I ordered a chicken burger but ended up getting a hamburger instead. It was a communication error but the staff handled the situation very satisfactory. I enjoyed the ambiance of the place more than I did the food but I would definitely go back and the very least, for drinks and maybe some appetizers.

The black lion is a nice pub on Chiswick mall that has a large garden, offering outdoor dinning and drinks. Their Sunday roast was really generous in portions and tasted well. There are lots of seating areas and is very animal friendly. We had the the roast beef, Sunday roast pork and lamb shank. Their chicken was sold out. All went down well in the cauliflower cheese. All came with huge portions of sides!

Great riverside setting. The Beetroot burger was literally amazing served with smashed avocado and accompanied with generous portion of french fries. We ordered everything through the app, it was quick delivered. Lovely staff, too! Definitely, I would like to come back.

The place has a huge terrace, perfect for the sunny days. The food is delicious and the portions are big. You need to go to the bar to order but even in a busy hour wasn't that much queue, they are quick and attentive. The waiter was so kind and the food was serve quickly.

I had arrived early for a tour of the nearby Fuller’s Brewery. With no eating facilities there I took a pleasant walk to find a pub. The Black Lion was the first pub that we came to. We were warmly welcomed and found our own table for two for food. The ale had been well kept and was very good. I ordered spare ribs which came with very tasty coleslaw and beautifully cooked chips. As for the ribs themselves; they were cooked to perfection. They easily came off the bone and were extremely tasty - probably the best I have ever had in a pub/restaurant. My son had a burger that he too really enjoyed. Service was prompt and efficient by two different pleasant members of staff. The atmosphere was relaxed. I only visited Chiswick to attend the brewery but if I lived nearby or visited frequently, The Black Lion would be my pub of choice.

I can highly recommend visiting The Black Lion. Service was really great and you can see that managers of this place try to create a unique atmosphere where everybody can feel good. The food was really tasty and fresh, perfect place for beer with friends and Sunday Roast as well.

I was at the Black Lion to celebrate my birthday with a party of about 20 people and it was absolutely amazing. The food is great and the staff is super helpful. Definitely recommend! Lovely space outside, very big, with a tent to protect in case of bad weather and just general great vibes.

Great service (unfortunately didn’t get the name of the person serving us, but he was really lovely!), hearty portions, very succulent pork belly, tender lamb shank, tasty corn-fed chicken, great burger and also the vegetarian option of mushroom, courgette and cheddar wellington was greatly received! We even managed to make some room for a lovely selection of coconut milk ice cream with chocolate and coconut tart etc. in spite of already feeling full! Highly recommend with a walk along the river before and afterwards!

Nice pub in Hammersmith close to the river. The garden part is quite nice, with a heated part which is quite handy. The fish and chips was good, although not the best one I've eaten. If you are a large group it is preferable to book, which you can do from Google maps directly - handy as well.

We loved this local pub. Had a nice lunch and refreshments here before our Fuller's Brewery tour.

Nice pub. Stopped for a late lunch during a walk on the Thames path. Very good portion of salad niçoise with salmon. Lovely place to seat for a while and plenty of shade.

You don't get a river view from here but their outdoor spaces are still incredible with plenty of heaters, fireplaces under the tents. I can be socially distanced feeling warm whether cold or rainy. (Sometimes fire gets too smokey tho.) Sunday roast with beer highly recommended.

We had lunch outside with our two children of 3 months and 3 years. The space is very large and well distributed, we managed to pass with our mountain buggy duet until we reached our table which remained in an excellent and reserved position. We were trying to order at first through the app, but the system immediately left us a message saying that it was not possible, so we referred to a waiter who very kindly indicated the method. We were very satisfied, there was a children's menu that was to the liking of our 3 year old, but we ate a really good haddock with chips. The climate was relaxing, we had a great time, it was Saturday the day was very sunny and we had lunch at 2 pm. the service was fast. One of the best pubs in the area. I Advise it!

Really lovely pub with a big outside area, a real hit with the dog walking crowd. We only stopped for a quick drink but saw the food going out and had to stay for lunch. We both had the fish and chips which was excellent, we really enjoyed our time here.

Great pub, outside water stations, dog friendly, lots and lots of seating. Snuggly bays at the back outside (pic attached). The weather was really hot when I went so I didn't spend any time inside really, but it looked just as nice and spacious. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend 👍😁

Great ambience. Service works well. Great location and many very well planned outdoor seats. A very much needed establishment. Food is certainly good, but not amazing. They had a log fire burning outside last time I went. I understand the appeal but the smoke and ash wafted around in the tented area more than I expected and now my clothes and dog stink of smoke. Not good but certainly an interesting throwback to the days of pub going leaving you smelling of smoke.

A great pub with a lovely pub garden located along a nice walk along the river from Hammersmith. Great choice of local and craft beers which match the great food (the nachos are the best and biggest I’ve ever had)

Pretty solid fish n chips, same for the lamb shank. We also had the apple crumble, the topping on that was just a tad overdone but still good otherwise. Prices are pretty good for London, cozy interior and big portions. Definitely would recommend!

We had our work Christmas party at The Black Lion last night and it was fantastic!! Food was delicious, piping hot and really big portions. The service was outstanding and any special requests were met quickly and easily. The added bonus were the marquees in the garden to enjoy after dinner. So cute, cosy and festive. What a cool Christmas venue! Get down there!

We stumbled upon this place on one of our walks along the Thames and every time we walked passed I kept saying “I want to go there” I’m so glad we did because it’s such an amazing pub! We ended up having the sharing platter and it was so yummy! I can’t wait to come back again.

Have ate here a few times now and Tom and the team are doing an amazing job - with both the service and the food! Not too pricy either for London and very accommodating despite social distancing. Beer is always fresh as well - never had a bottom of the barrel drink.
