Delicious mash and pie and all the small plate’s bites and old English pub atmosphere. We were looking for a place with TV to watch a tennis match, this was perfect! Try Level Head bears when you here, I particularly enjoy the IPA!

Great location, nice food and attentive staff. Very neat & clean and feel fresh inside. Not too expensive for the location, and the portion size is good. Like fish & chips. Drinks r ok most of cask variety but I like craft beers. Lovely warm welcome atmosphere. Good vibes.

I popped into the Plough to do some emails and grab some lunch on a Friday afternoon. The two female staff were welcoming, friendly and engaging. A burger and chips with a pint of Guinness was £11 - which is great value and tasted amazing! One of the best Greene Kings I have been to.

Decent pub short walk from the British Museum. Good to stop in for a pint after a long day walking. Sport is played on a big TV, and some old chaps were eating your stereotypical pub grub. London prices as expected, so don't expect a big night out to be cheap

Great traditional pub with a good selection on the menu and decent cask ale too.

Love the decor and it is cozy with a nice ambient. Menu is new and clean unlike some of the Greene King Pubs. Good working Aircon indoor and a nice sitting area outdoor on a sunny warm day. Nothing worth mentioning of the service though as the bartenders is performing his duty with no characters. Still a place for a few good drinks with companies.

Great food The favourite platter was very nice I would recommend if you would like to share or can’t make your mind up on what to eat you get a big portion 2 burgers and 4 chicken wings chips and 2 fish goujoun and two sauces that comes with it.

Popped in after visiting The British Museum for a quick bite to eat. It was clear they were short staffed as we ended up cleaning our own table and service was limited. They were able to make the Philly cheesesteak without onions to accommodate my allergy, our daughter had the grilled cheese while Josh and Matt had the chicken sandwich. All came with a side salad and all dishes were tasty. Obviously it’s in somewhat of a touristy area so the service challenges are to be expected.

This place was the perfect first stop on my trip to London. I was so hungry getting off the plane and the staff was so sweet even in the face of a crisis (their food supply had been delayed this morning). They kept my companion and I informed as soon as we could order and the food was so delicious. I highly recommend this place if for no other reason than a nice staff and a beautiful atmosphere. I enjoyed the food immensely but everyone's tastes are different.

We had reserved a space upstairs. It was an atmospheric pub. The food was tasty and a large portion. Many types of beer were available on tap. Friendly staff and serving worked well for our group.

Dropped in for a drink & lunch whilst visiting The British Museum. The pub near the Museum was packed to the hilt - as expected - but we found The Plough which is only round the corner & bagged a table without trouble although it was still fairly busy. Nice atmosphere & some good ales on draught. I had a very tasty vegan mushroom chilli for lunch & my friend had Scampi & Chips. My pint of " Neck Oil " well presented , as was his G & T. Very friendly staff who were attentive & caring. Thankyou for a pleasant visit.

Went there after a visit to the British museum. We were lucky to find a table without reservation or waiting. The staff was really nice and welcoming. We tried the Fish and chips and the Grilled Cheese toastie. The food was nice and nicely presented. I would suggest going for dessert or a starter as the portions are not the biggest. Overall we had a good time.

Bought the 5 Mix & Share Pub Plates between 3 of us, and they were great! Very pleased.

Fantastic pub, great drinks, food and very friendly staff. My favorite place to have a drink or meal before/after a visit to the British Museum. One of the best fish & chips I've had too, perfectly crispy and yet very juicy

The pub service is phenomenal. My friend and I were staring at the airport and we wanted to eat one more Sticky toffee pudding, but we couldn't find anywhere because the kitchens opened at 12pm. In this pub, they opened the kitchen earlier for us and we got the best dessert in the world. Of course, the Hibiki whiskey was also excellent. Thanks to the lady behind the sled who was very kind.

Hope not all "traditional english pubs" are like this. Staff was below optimal, we did not really feel welcome, the food was kinda ok, the overall feeling was a comlete chaos, staff downstairs didnt no what kitchen upstairs were doing, kitchen upstairs had no idea what messages from the downstairs guys were supposed to mean, there was also some quarelling present, not nice to experience. Basically, not necessarily a place I would take my buddies to have a good friday out.

Lovely pub within walking distance of the british museum, me and my husband enjoyed a steak and ale pie and a hunters chicken. The staff were welcoming and very attentive, the man behind the bar always had a smile on his face and was very polite.

Due to rainfall we decided to pop into the Plough, which turned out as a great idea! It‘s the first time since two years that we got the chance to drink Boe Violet (best drink!) and apart from that, the beer and food were very nice. Would visit again!:)

Nice find for us out walking in London. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere in the pub. We ordered a couple of sharing plates to eat. Food only took 15 minutes, which was very good and it was very tasty. Certainly recommend a visit if nearby.

Nice pub in Central with good food, good beer, nice staff and big screens to watch the football, what more could you ask for!! Was looking for a pub to have a beer and watch the game had some food because we saw some going to another table and it looked great, really glad we did because it was amazing. Also Man City beating Arsenal 5-0 helped

Conveniently situated for the museums, the Plough offers a typically warm pub welcome to customers. As pub grub goes, it offers nice, if unspectacular, dishes at reasonable prices. My girlfriend got a side of pickled onions with her fish n chips. That was as edgy and disruptive as their dishes got.

Great location, just beside the British Museum. Very nice, attentive and friendly staff. The best fish & chips I have ever had in London! I think I found my fav place when I stay around Holborn!

We stopped in The Plough just after a few hours in the British Museum. We had a great time and enjoyed the food and drink. We had the Steak and Ale Pie which is very good. Joanna (from Poland) is a lovely character working at the bar and served us. She was a hoot.

The staff at the bar were very polite, the two that stuck out the most with being the most important with my time there to make sure I was comfortable was Emily and Natasha. They were really good at making sure, I was comfortable and made me feel more comfortable than any other pub I've been to. Overall the experience was outstanding. Polite staff and some delicious food. The best combination you need at a pub. I would strongly recommend the plough on museum street highly to my friends and family also fellow people who likes to have an outstanding experience at a pub.

Conveniently located on Museum St. A nice, comfortable spot with friendly service and a hunger-busting menu absent flash but filled with traditional fare in sizable portions. Great beers along with locally crafted ales and lagers. Great fish and chips with peas, smashed or otherwise, thick cut chips with malt vinegar and/or gravy. Traditional pies as well. Say hi to Gemma and the chef. Fun, friendly and ready with a smile.

One of the best Sunday roasts. Meat was thick, juicy and tasty and the wine gravy was from another world. Apple pie was not very sweet which made me enjoy it even more. Service fast and staff were amazing. There was an open mike so I moved on the other side after dinner and it was lovely. Seing the staff singing and dancing while serving and the guests so happy made me not want to leave so I staied until closing. And last the place was spotless and the toilet was so clean and shiny that I could not believe my eyes...rarely you find such a clean toilet in a pub. I cannot wait to return! I did not get to photograph the side veggies that came with the roast as the cawliflower was so good that i digged into it straight away :)

Visited the Plough on Saturday, we’d been to the British Museum and booked for lunch. I would recommend booking at busy times as it began to catch a crowd whilst we were there at 12.30. Staff were lovely and friendly and pub itself is beautiful. What a gorgeous place. The food was tasty, fresh, hot and such a reasonably priced especially for London!!! Thank you so much, we’ll be back very soon!

A cracking little 'local' with great atmosphere. I can recommend the fish & chips, too. Staff are friendly, and there's no shortage of beers/ciders. Highly recommend The Plough for an informal drink with friends or family.

Great food and attentive staff. Inside of the building it is very clean and freshly done. Not too expensive for the location, and the portion size is good.

We popped into this great pub for lunch prior to visiting the British Museum. What a great find. The three of us had a selection from the sharing light bite platters. All the dishes were fresh and hot: generous portions in all cases. The fish goujons and battered halloumi were particularly impressive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this pub and will certainly be returning the next time I visit the British Museum.
