Phoning
around
looking
for
a
table
for
a
late
Sunday
Lunch
at
short
notice,
it
was
apparent
that
good
places
were
popular
today.
While
The
Black
Horse
was
busy,
they
were
the
only
ones
who
didn’t
reply
with
a
point
blank
‘no
availability’
and
offered
to
try
to
accommodate
us,
albeit
squeezing
the
6
of
us
onto
a
large
table
normally
used
for
four.
The
sign
of
a
good
front
of
house
manager
was
evident
as
the
promise
of
a
better
table
if
one
became
free
had
come
true
by
the
time
we
arrived.
Roast
Beef
x
3
with
unlimited
Yorkshires
&
gravy
went
down
a
treat
and
a
packed
and
flavoursome
Beef
&
Tanglefoot
pie
completed
the
adult
choices.
The
older
and
hungry
children
were
happy
with
their
burgers
from
the
main
menu
(southern
fried
chicken
&
double
cheeseburger).
The
liquid
refreshment
came
in
the
form
of
a
superb
pint
of
Tanglefoot
and
pretty
good
post
‘lunch’
coffees
(the
relaxed
atmosphere
and
friendly
service
meant
it
was
closer
to
early
evening
by
the
time
we
were
ready
to
leave!).
Great!
