Stopped ahead of our flight from Gatwick, we got there just after opening time at 12.30 and couldn't fault the service and quality of the food. We had a burger and a cobb sandwich. Staff were friendly and decent pricing.

Haven't been for a few years after a disappointing meal. New manager Kelly was absolutely lovely and the food is SO much nicer now. Really enjoyed our meals and the friendly helpful staff made it a pleasant lunch. If you've had a bad experience before the new management, please go and give them a second chance as it's a totally different experience now.

Lovely place for a drink and a meal. A menu to suit most tastes at reasonable prices. The food arrived in good time with friendly smiles, well presented and very tasty. The staff were great and couldn't have been more helpful...thanks everyone.... we'll be back!!!

The Black Horse is a cute little pub with a nice back garden. The food was partly good (the veg and potatoes good) while the beef was very dry and yorkshire pudding dry and tasteless no matter how much gravy you poured over the top of the Sunday lunch. The Guinness went really well with the food whereas the other ales that I tried didn't stand out. Another annoying thing was a manager of Indian descent scolding the waiters right in front of me trying to show them he is good at his job - it looked insecure and it was putting me off my lunch.

We booked a table in advance and found easy disabled access from a flat car park. We were greeted by very friendly and polite staff. The menu is perhaps a little limited, but what is on offer is very tasty and well presented. The beer is well kept. So with good food and great beer at a reasonable price that ticks all the boxes to make it great pub.

Great experience! We were staying at a hotel at Gatwick Airport and wanted a pub dinner. This is one of the few pubs around that is not a national chain. The food was delicious, and was home cooked. They are friendly, accomodating (my wife has some rare food allergies). Overall the experience was great. It's a nice setting, nice decor, with a kids playground. We also walked off our meal back to the hotel! Win, win, win!

Really lovely. Had a great selection of board games as well to keep the family entertained whilst waiting for their food. Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend and return when travelling to Gatwick.

Food very good, staff attentive, friendly and professional. However, they advertised a 33% discount on Mondays ( in place when we booked 5 days earlier), they would not honour the discount !! The waitress did compromise with 15%. Something for management to sort out!!

Very good food and friendly staff. Play area for children was well used by my son while we enjoyed our lunch in the sun.

Great pub, food & staff for a meal dropping off at Gatwick. Super fast service.

Popped in for a drink on a Sunday afternoon and the staff (particularly a lady named Donna) were not friendly at all. No smile or thank you for visiting. Just like they didn't care. Menu was very over priced so we decided to go elsewhere. Not a great experience and won't be returning.

Limited menu, service not great & food pretty poor, but apparently pub is in the process of being sold. V expensive wine - 1 glass charged over £11, ridiculous.

Amazing lunch here on Saturday with my Mum and Dad who came to visit me for the day for early Christmas celebrations. The food was beautifully cooked and the apple pie was amazing, the base was so light, not like traditional heavy pastry which was nice because I had pie for my main. The staff were very attentive and the pub has a lovely fire to keep you cosy on a winter's day. Very glad we chose to go here and my parents have said they will definitely go again if we go out to eat when they are visiting. Thanks for a lovely experience.

One of the best pubs that sell food I've been to. I was very impressed along with my family. Menu excellent. Food second to none. Wide range of food including excellent curries of all kinds you would find in an Indian restaurant. Plenty of parking. BRILLIANT.

Really nice pub, food was good. Veg quite soggy and over cooked but the pie was tasty enough. We visited on a Saturday fairly close to Christmas, understandably they were busy but we waited 45 minutes to order and then the food was very slow coming out, also waited a long time to pay the bill. Waitress was lovely however didn't know much about the menu. When we were being served it felt as though we were being rushed and asking for anything was an inconvenience. As I said, understand they were very busy but a big shame as its a nice pub overall, just seems like they need more staff🤷‍♀️

Absolutely stunning meal! The new owners and the new chef, whom we met and he was lovely! We had a curry each and it was easily the nicest curry I’ve ever had. Served hot, full of flavour, the chicken was tender. It was a busy Friday night so we did need to wait for service, but stunning food!!

We were looking forward to trying the new Indian food at the Black Horse and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the staff were all welcoming and friendly. We even met the Chef, Rocky who came out to talk to us during our meal. This is our local pub and it's great that it has a new lease of life. We will be enjoying many more meals here.

Recently changed ownership. The menus looked good with an amazing selection of curries on one side and a good selection of regular pub grub on the other side. The chips have to be the best chips ever! I had the lamb chops with were delicious and my friend had the curry sharing started which also looked fabulous. Hats of to the new owners and chef! Get yourself down there for a fabulous meal!

Good reception and great servers created a good atmosphere, but the food wasn't quite up to the same standard. Fries a little too crispy; chicken volcano a very odd experience; burger was fair, but not as much flavour as it could have had. Overall reasonable, but not spectacular.

Really excellent place! Was pretty packed when we arrived but managed to get a table for two and the wait staff were running around like crazy to keep everyone taken care of. We got the lamb shank and butter chicken and both were delicious, as were our drinks. Highly recommend!

What a lovely place 🙂. We were staying round the corner in a b & b so a nice little walk for an evening meal and drinkipoo. Food was really nice we both had the chef's special pie with mash and cabbage - absolutely fabulous - good portion size and very tasty. Staff were really nice and attentive - fab place all round.

Had yet another great meal in the Black Horse, enjoyed steak night with deliciously juicy steak perfect chips served with a rosemary and sundries tomato butter and a bottle of the house red, all really really good all for £37 for 2 of us. Not only is the food top notch but the staff are warm friendly and very efficient. You can't ask for better.

So ate here on a recommendation and we went on a Thursday evening and while.it was quite the service we received and the welcome was great. The food was very nice and presented beautifully. The owner and her staff really made you feel welcome and shall visit again. I would also say very good value for money with the food.

Booked at the last minute because our normal place was too busy and was really pleased with what we found. The menu was exciting and the food was excellent. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great food. Will be making this a regular visit from now on.

Phoning around looking for a table for a late Sunday Lunch at short notice, it was apparent that good places were popular today. While The Black Horse was busy, they were the only ones who didn’t reply with a point blank ‘no availability’ and offered to try to accommodate us, albeit squeezing the 6 of us onto a large table normally used for four. The sign of a good front of house manager was evident as the promise of a better table if one became free had come true by the time we arrived. Roast Beef x 3 with unlimited Yorkshires & gravy went down a treat and a packed and flavoursome Beef & Tanglefoot pie completed the adult choices. The older and hungry children were happy with their burgers from the main menu (southern fried chicken & double cheeseburger). The liquid refreshment came in the form of a superb pint of Tanglefoot and pretty good post ‘lunch’ coffees (the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service meant it was closer to early evening by the time we were ready to leave!). Great!

First time at the Black Horse since COVID. As usual the pub was warm and welcoming and the food, although always pretty good, has improved and my fish and chips was delicious. The staff, all women in this instance, were delightful. For obviously reason we'll be returning.

Nice pub, good choice of drinks and nice meals too, the staff were very friendly and helpful too. Ideally located by Gatwick airport but still has the “country pub” feel.

Always enjoy a meal at the Black Horse, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always well prepared with good portions. For me it's what a traditional pub should be, not too posh but with a nice atmosphere, hopefully it will remain that way and then my family will continue to visit and enjoy a good meal. Give it a try, well worth it.

Parking excellent, starters were great apart from the gluten free bread not being gluten free, mains were a total disaster we ordered three burgers and only two turned up, by the time the third one arrived everyone else had finished, not great. It's a shame because the food was good but those points ruined the night for us and especially the gluten free

This is a great pub, friendly staff, nice ambiance, great garden and good for kids too and all very well maintained. Highlights are the food which was excellent on my last two visits. I'm a private hire driver so I will be revisiting this gem many times over...

Just dropped in for quick unplanned meal. They looked after us really well. Staff were great, friendly and professional. Food was OK too, not out of this world, but good value and pleasant enough.

It's a nice, cosy place. The prices aren't cheap, of course, but they're reasonable. The staff are very friendly, and after testing a couple of beers right at the bar, I picked one that was of interest to me.
