Lovely pub by the river not far from Richmond Lock, which is interesting in itself. Try their sunday roast - always good, well presented platters. Their rib eye steak,, , to die for! We got a warm welcome on arrival from the waitress, she was courteous and friendly. The service was excellent and the food was top notch, great value too! The bulk of their food is cooked on the premises. Check out their desserts, their sticky toffee pudding is awesome. Their chocolate cake with clotted cream and ice cream was one of the best that I have ever had this side of town. Parking is a short distance nearby.. but do check tides timetable!

Truly a hidden gem in Richmond. I have been twice and both times the food and wine were on point and reasonably priced. Great service and a country pub feel. Perfect for those trying to get a bit of a break amongst a busy day in Richmond.

Amazing Sunday roast, we had pork belly, haggis scotch eggs, sticky toffee pudding. Everything was tasty and in large portion. Service was really nice. Booking recommended.

Richmond's White Swan provides some of the best pub food I have had. Both our mains were very good. My chicken, mushroom and bacon pie was prepared in their kitchen. It was full of the three ingredients and the flavor was wonderful.

This is one of the first restaurants we visited after moving to Richmond and it was well worth another visit. The roasted onion soup was a wonderful start. The pan fried duck with the green beans and surprise little apricot was why we came back and was still exquisite. The tiramisu was quite good, but the Moscatel was a bit too sweet for our taste (that’s our fault). Just be warned to not sit too close to the back door on the first night the temperature drops into the 40s Fahrenheit (single digits Celsius).

Walked in and was welcomed by some locals and barman Declan playing trivia to pass time. We ended up staying 5 hours and got a local history lesson. We walked out with smiles on our faces and full belly’s. What a great pub experience. Thanks for having us. All staff very attentive. Thanks to Graham and Fox 🦊 some locals that made our day.

Great spot for a Sunday lunch or a pint after a walk on the river. Great choice of ales. Loads of seat at the bank for sunny days. Friendly staff even in a busy Sunday. Sunday lunch great, normal choices but starters where great also. Look forward to heading back

Update: came back for the second time as the first time was so great but this time it was a different experience. We came back especially for the pecan brownie, only to see it had been removed from the menu. Not to mention extremely fatty/inedible beef☹️ and the service just wasn’t like it was before. Shame! First time visiting The White Swan in Richmond and we were so impressed! Beautiful food and service - all round really nice experience. Traditional roast with all the right components in a really beautiful part of Richmond. Will definitely be returning!

A lovely pub tucked away from the crowded pubs near the center of Richmond. It's not far from the center but being on a residential road, it feels more homely, inviting and cozy. Both the staff and visitors to the pub were very friendly. We ended talking to people from South Africa and Greece... The food is good too but not cheap. Well worth a visit.

Pleased with our Sunday Lunch at the White Swan. It's a nice, quiet location in Richmond with a warm atmosphere inside. The only downside is that the conservatory at the back where we were seated definitely feels like a step-down compared to rest of the place. The food was good, I really enjoyed the gin-cured salmon starter. The roast lamb was a little overdone for my taste but not bad and the vegetables were done nicely. My wife had the roast beef which she was also happy with and the parsnips were perfect! Service was initially pretty good but my only gripe is that we were left for about 25 minutes after asking for the bill.

We booked a table here for a Sunday lunch after a riverside walk and all concluded it was the best pub lunch we'd had for a long time. We arrived about 45 minutes early but the team sat us at the bar where we drank and chatted, and then grabbed us as soon as our table was ready. The food was great and the portions were generous, which is often not the case these days. All of the staff were really lovely and helpful. We'll be back!

This was my second visit for an evening meal and this time we were sitting upstairs; this was a lovely surprise when we got up there. What a fantastic room. It's high baronial style ceiling allowed for a quiet conversational atmosphere that made a pleasant and relaxing change. Service was relaxed but attentive. Menu was suitably winter style and the house red was superb. Great pub with great dining.

Really nice pub to hang out in on a beautiful lane in Richmond. Elevated food which we really enjoyed and very generous portion sizes! Super friendly staff.

Popped into White Swan after dinner last night & although I've walked past it many times it always looked so small from the outside. Well it's not that small once you're there. Lovely bar area with plenty seating, then a separate dining area, & the outside seating area is just beautiful. Beautiful, lush greenery that's not plastic, fairy lights all over, comfortable seats, with a little corner that's set for a romantic evening. Very clean inside, even the washroom facility was spotless. Not sure about the food, as we didn't eat, but definitely return to find out. All in all a real gem.

A rare treat. A riverside pub with a rural feel in a street of low cottages next to a Crown Estate. Rotation of decent ales. Great (pricey) menu and a compact but comfortable beer garden.

Wonderful Sunday roast lunch with all the trimmings in a gorgeous traditional English pub, just off the Thames riverside at Richmond. Food was delicious. Staff friendly and dogs welcome. Very popular; we wouldn’t have got in had we not booked 2 days earlier. Will definitely come back; the burrata starter was utterly amazing with homemade pesto. Want to try the full menu.

It was a rugby match day so was rammed but the staff kept smiling! Maybe they are on profit sharing?? Had a pint of Harvey's Sussex, took me back to days in Brighton. Well kept beer and a cosy pub. Recommend.

Food is good as always. Really poor service as we have now experienced twice in the last 12 months. We did come with one extra person and we were told there just simply wasn’t a chair for our extra party member. So the lady serving us let three of our group share two chairs although throughout our three hour stay there were 3 empty chairs and numerous outside we could have used. We easily managed the extra person on the table but she served the party with one chair less. It really was quite unbelievable. She really couldn’t do enough to make the experience terrible for us all. Don’t think hospitality is for her, maybe a new role for the new year. Shame as the food is ok. There are plenty of pubs in Richmond with food as good but much better and polite staff so head to one of them not here.

Very good food with an original selection of starters and choice of real ales, served quickly and with friendly service. A very pleasant Sunday lunchtime in the garden, would definitely like to come back again to sample the rest of the menu in this well-run and cosy pub in a great location for all the attractions of Richmond.

Sunday lunch was really good a big portion i was totally stuffed and really nice roast potatoes. The meat was good too a lot of pubs cook their meat rare and it end up chewy but unless you buy your meat from the Ginger Pig i think long and slow is best and this place had it spot on. The staff were also very friendly and and the service was great

Fantastic Sunday roasts in a quaint old style pub, dog friendly and great wine 🍷 Busy around 1 pm on Sunday (unsurprisingly) so if you are set on a table reserve ahead

I have known this venue for a number of years which is located opposite the remains of Richmond Palace built by Henry Tudor in the C15. Hidden away close to the River Thames this place is discreet but welcoming.

We called in for a beer and this pub has lots of atmosphere. The food that came out looked great too. Will definitely revisit.

Popped in for a quick pint on a Sunday afternoon and immediately warmed to the place. Super cosy, good service and the odd regular or two propping up the bar - just what you want in a proper pub. Decent selection of beers on cask and tap and the food - Sunday roasts - looked delicious as they came out of the kitchen. Didn't have one on this occasion but from the numbers coming in to eat, I'd make an educated guess that it tastes as good it looks. One for a returning visit, for sure. Dog- and child-friendly too, if that's what you're after. Recommended.

We sat outside in a lovely, cosy sheltered area. Great food - refreshing to see different dishes on the menu.

Very tasty food in a calm street between Richmond Green and the River Thames. There is an upper floor ideal for large groups. Outdoor seating with terraces at the front and the back of the pub. Large choice of wines. Seasonally, they serve Mulled wine.

I love this pub, and I haven been there couple times before and the food was great. Had a party there with 3 courses dinner recently. The starter and main are scrumptious. Great texture and favour. I would give 5 out of 5 for that. However the deserts was a let down. The cream in Tiramisu was very thick and the sponge was dry. I had couples of spoon and then I suddenly feel very sick and went to throw it all up. I have never have this experience before. And other guests feeling hard to finish their dessert. The desert doesn’t really fit in with the choice of main and starter which are already heavily favoured. It will be great to see a better thoughts on the sequence and balance of taste. See you soon.

Granted, The White Swan is a nice pub in a quieter section of Richmond. There’s an average selection of keg beers on that lack inspiration. It was nice to see some Harvey’s on cask though at a decent price. A Surrey Hill’s ale was also on too. In terms of the pub it’s always frustrating to see tables reserved, especially outside. It’s a public house after all and not a reserved house! The outside areas are quite nice and a decent sun trap. Sadly the staff weren’t too friendly and seemed to lack morale. There was a lot of tutting and sighing for the staff working. Not ideal as a customer at all. Hopefully they sort out the issues here and it’ll be a good pub.

Service was amazing. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great selection of beers and ciders on tap. The food was delicious. Well worth a visit especially if you get a seat in the beer garden.

Had to send meal back twice. Pastry on the pie was stone cold and bowl of veg barely warm. Meal came back the first time with pastry again stone cold. Staff tried to say that's how it's served?? Since when is a beef and guiness pie served with hot filling and cold pastry.. that's ridiculous. £4.50 dish of (barely warm) veg had 1 small carrot cut in half, some shredded cabbage and a few beans... at best 50 pence worth of veg. I understand margins and mark ups, they are running a business but expect better than what we received. To top it off we were overcharged 3 drinks/£30 on our bill, luckily we checked it fully and questioned it.... totally underwhelming experience, shame as we like the pub for drinks in the summer and thought we would dine there this time but we won't eat there again....

Nice seating outside with heaters. Nice food but could taste better. The service could have been a bit faster and a bit more attentive and faster. They very uch looked understaffed and it would have been more problematic if the place had been full.
