🚇 Bond Street 🍺 £4.60 Double Four Lager ❤️ A Sam Smiths pub with an angelic feel. . The Angel In The Fields is located in the heart of Marylebone on the corner of Thayer Street and Marylebone Lane. Bond Street is the nearest tube which is a five minute walk away. . As pub buildings go, this pub is very understated and almost inconspicuous. Whilst I was roaming around, I had to check Google Maps to make sure this was the pub I was looking for. . Inside, is a completely different ball game. The decor here is traditional with walls clad in dark wood panelling. The bar is also made with dark wood and is in an unusual position as it backs on to the window wall, never seen that before. The stand out feature here are the stained glass windows, they have a unique floral design which almost makes the pub feel sacred, which of course all pubs are. . This is a Sam Smiths pub so all the booze consists of in-house beers, wines and spirits. I had the Double Four Lager which is a nice session lager and costs less than a fiver. Upstairs is the lounge bar which is predominantly used as a dining area, the menu is British pub grub, Fish & Chips will set you back £13.95. . Because this is a Sam Smiths pub there are a few rules attached that you need to be aware of, no phones, laptops, ipads, speak and spells. Oh another thing, you need to mind your P&Q’s no swearing in here. . As this was a hot and sunny day the majority of punters were sat on the benches at the front of the pub, inside was quiet. There were a few inside, I sat by two Japanese ladies who were happily quaffing away on a couple of pints. I managed to have a chat with the Guv’nor, what a nice fella, he was telling me about how busy he’s been with recent Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam fans using the pub pre-gig. . Sam Smiths pubs seem to divide opinion but personally I’m a fan. The decor here is fantastic and even though there prices have gone up, the price point is still less than most London pubs. One other note, the last three Guv’nors I have met have been great, full of personality and happy to chat. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 10/07/22

We’re here visiting from Canada and this is our favourite pub in London, and we’ve visited a few! It’s beautiful inside, and we appreciated being able to chat and hear each other. Great beer and cider, and would have played darts if we stayed longer! Our bartender Robert was so friendly and welcoming, and knows his stuff. He does an amazing job!!

Solid pub with a (gas) fire in winter. Dark old wood covering the walls and stained glass windows - great atmosphere Tadcaster still has the best stout and generally good beer

It's a Sam Smiths pub, so many of the negatives are a given. As usual, they're dull environments, understaffed, and overpriced (that's actually a new one. The prices of their beers have almost doubled in less than half a decade). The Angel in the Fields itself is a pub I have a lot of experience with, although it had been a while since I was last here. The floor’s been done, and the toilets have at some point had a makeover. That is however as much as I can say for its decency. It's just not great. The charming aesthetic wears thin quickly when the lack of music (there's no music, it's a Sam Smiths Pub) sucks the atmosphere from the room, and you're left sitting in silence. None of this was helped during my visit by the uncharismatic barman who was absent during most of the time it took me to have my pint. In the space of 30 minutes, I saw 3 separate occasions where people walked in and then left due to having no one around to serve them. By the time I finished my pint, I couldn't wait to leave. I've not missed these pubs.

Good pub. The beers are nice, the interior is really cute, the bartender is friendly. Nothing more you can ask for.

to a previous review I have just read about the rats I would just like to say … Having been there at the time I can say. 1: there were NO rats at all, it was a small little mouse which is extremely common in old buildings in London like this one. 2. You were all laughing and joking about it until you got your £70 bill and then tried to use this to get a free meal.. 3. The food is of high quality and the staff are lovely

Came across this beautiful pub whilst strolling through Marylebone this afternoon and wow! I am so glad I did. I was welcomed by the lovely landlord and landlady behind the bar which I believe is a real gem nowadays. I decided to order the Fish and Chips and it was delicious, beautifully presented, Hot and very tasty!! 10/10 Have visited a few Sam Smiths pubs in London previously and would say this was definitely the best. I am visiting London in a few weeks and will definitely be coming again with my family 👍

We’ve been for supper and I strongly recommend it! Both the food and the pints are superb, and everything is reasonably priced for being in central London. A plus for the pub itself, it is nice and clean, the dining area upstairs is not noisy at all. Our waiter for the evening was Claire, who was extremely nice and helped us enjoy our meal!

For me is number 1 pub in London. Because they represent my favorite Samuel Smith's Brewery. Very old and fantastic. The atmosphere there is relaxing. The beer is real interesting. Especially Old brewery bitter. Really recommend this place. Enjoy!!!

Lovely little pub tucked away in Marlybone. would recommend to come a little earlier can get packed at times. First room has a beautiful little fireplace and a authentic interior. Taddy larger is what I would recommend followed by the Stout. Reasonably priced staff are lovely. Your belly and your Instagram will be happy.

A long-time favourite of mine. Great internal decor, traditional wood and stained glass rass bar type. Nice seating upstairs for dining. This is a proper traditional pub in the heart of Marylebone.

Funny old pub with no TV or jukebox but is trading on the good old days we're people have to talk. Only there own brand drinks but all do the job and reasonably priced. As we sat next to the open fire on a cold day.

Bad experience. We waited for a long time at the bar to just get a pint. There wasn't much queue, but there was only one guy serving and he was unbelievably slow. Clearly didn't mind that people were waiting. After much wait and seeing we still had some people ahead of us, we decided to leave and went to a nearby pub where we were served in seconds.

A pub we came across on our way back from the Wallace Collection museum (to be honest it was just around the corner). Lovely decorated with some sort of stained glass windows, full of dark brown wooden furnitures, walls and beams, it is a perfect place to have a pint (or two) of their Sam Smith brewery ales and ciders. Kitchen was closed at the time we arrived so we can't tell much about it. Bar guy was nice and friendly.

Lovely old Sam Smiths pub in the heart of Marylebone. Beautiful stained glass patterns adorn the windows, and once inside there is a relaxed atmosphere from the friendly staff and the real open fire to help warm you up.

Pleasant pub in English style. Large selection of unconventional beers at good price. If you don't know which brand to choose, waiter will warmly advise you. If you want, you can taste it fór free. Waiter today in 6 stars!

Lovely pub with dining options upstairs. Good selection of snacks and main courses! We enjoyed the chopped sausages with honey mustard while downing beers.

Stunning pub & great service! A very warm welcome into a traditional UK pub, with a variety of exceptional draught beers/ciders and cask ale, alongside an upstairs option for a comforting dining experience… can’t go wrong!

Nice pub but it's pretty small and doesn't have a much variety in the way of lager. Staff lovely though and very welcoming

Over the past 2 years I have dropped in here from 4pm to 5pm on my way to my evening shift: it's always the Australian or English barman serving. Knowledgeable, very very witty but quiet with it. By a decent pub I mean one of the best pubs.

Ok but with a little attention to detail could be good. Pie and ale was without flare, boring. Nothing wrong with the food, atmosphere was lacking. Bar staff inexperienced.

Good pub. The beers are good and just a regular pub. I have not tried the food. As a quick comment, they do not have Guiness pints, really strange in London. They have a small terrace outside.
