Firstly I love the charm of this area; perfectly preserved streets of Georgian workers’ cottages that thankfully survived the Blitz, the expansion of nearby Waterloo Station, and (worst of all) property developers! Thankfully it’s now all part of a conservation area. The cherry on the cake is this lovely Grade II listed pub, serving a great selection of well-kept real ales. The only reminder that we’re in more modern times is the Thai food menu! Although traditional English pub grub would be more in keeping with the ‘feel’ of both the pub and the area, the food did look very good. Really friendly staff and clientele; a must visit if you’re in the area!

Such a gem! Excellent selection of ales & an outstanding porter! Hope to see more vegan dishes to be added to the menu soon. Even though the pub is located on the street where the time stood still, it shouldn't stop us from adding an ethical twist to those wonderful Thai dishes today.

Fantastic pub with an excellent selection of beers and a fantastic Thai menu. Worth making a visit if you are looking for somewhere cosy and welcoming that blends a traditional pub with some excellent flavours.

Came here with a couple of friends for a late afternoon/evening session and very much enjoyed it. Superb pub with great local/homely feel. Yes the bar staff don't smile but i can live with that. Prices on par with local London and a table out the back was grabbed ready for the homemade Thai food - which we all agreed was delicious. Couldn't fault this pub for a cracking evening out - a location where you are not needing to shout at each other to have a conversation.

A rarity for me, I was not able to post the review in situ. I would not normally review if this happens. However, this is a fantastic local, clearly with a very loyal group of customers. Has a very good traditional local feel about the place. A big dining room out the back and a bar and ?snug at the front. A lovely lady ruling the bar with total aplomb. A fantastic place to stop off for a drink!

Great traditional pub with a decent Thai restaurant round the back. A fine selection of ales. It’s on a beautiful road with the old Victorian houses. Friendly and efficient staff. As for the food, it can’t be faulted. Their Pad Khing is spicy and tasty. Recommend. Mixed starters are hefty.

An absolute gem in Waterloo… Went for dinner tonight and had the Thai and it was lovely… service was great and polite and the food was banging!! The boozer itself is a proper after work place.. loads of people and the place was buzzing..can’t wait to go back another time after work… loads of beer options…good banter with the staff… can’t recommend this place enough!! Get down there.

First visit to this great pub retaining many original features including the public and private bar (both public obvs). A great selection of beers. We also ate in the Thai restaurant out back which was very busy for obvious reasons; it was superb! I wish this was on my doorstep.

it's literally a cool place. the restaurant at back is good Thai food. Beer in pub bit is good, and they haven't ruined the traditional bit

A traditional pub, down a charismatic street with delicious Thai food and a good, but small, assortment of beers. They had Titanic's Plum Porter on tap

I tend to go to this pub at less busy times when it's quite. In the afternoon in the week. Or before lunch at the weekend. At these times it's less busy. The staff are very helpful. The Thai food is very tasty. I've eaten there on 4 occasions recently and have never been disappointed. A good selection of beer. I was impressed by the Small Beer at 2.5% it has a good flavour and body. Other beers, wines and spirits are available. It's a proper pub with a bit of atmosphere 👍

Love this little Thai restaurant tucked behind the pub. Gets rammed most nights but if you head there early, they can accommodate you. A two page menu with a curated list of popular Thai dishes. Food is well cooked and seasoned, and requests the spice levels to be amped up are well received. The food comes out quickly. Service is efficient to the point of being brusque at times and the bill is always presented on you’re done eating, regardless if you’ve asked for it. Pad grapow is the standout dish for me but the portions are well sized and always reliably tasty.

Superb place. Great range of cask beer and the food was quality. Good range of Thai food in the restaurant at the back with decent prices and fast service. First to arrive for lunch but filled up very quickly. Beer very well kept and a lovely ambience to the front bar. Definitely a go to when getting the train from Waterloo station, close enough but also far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle.

A Thai restaurant at the back of a great pub. I wouldn't have found it save for Google maps and couldn't fault brilliant tasty food freshly cooked in a lovely atmosphere. One of the best Thai meals I've tasted. It was accompanied by beer from the pub which had a great selection of beers.

Smashing pub. One of the best stouts I've had in London too. Drink Guinness ordinarily but really like their Forged Irish Stout stuff. Did get two different prices for the same round so be aware.

Very fresh, amazing flavor, traditional dishes, and cool environment (back side of an old English pub). Definitely glad we tried this Thai food, did not disappoint!

Excellent pub in a beautifully preserved Victorian terrace street right next to Waterloo station. Their Thai food is ok, but I always come here for the beer. There's always a great selection with barrels changed regularly. Bitter and ale fans will be in heaven.

Hopefully just caught on a bad day. Used to have the best kept beer in the area, but definitely not today. Sent one pint back, and left the replacement.

Had my birthday party lunch there recently. I certainly made the right choice. The Roupell suite is perfect for an small to medium number of people and at the same time you weren’t shoehorned in. Kat was extremely helpful. The staff were attentive. The food itself was delicious and everyone who came enjoyed it. Will certainly be going back at some point. Thank you King’s Arms for making sure my special day went smoothly.

This place is amazing. Perfect British pub with a bomb Thai spot in the back! Go for a beer but don't you dare skip the food.

I do not like pubs that feels like restaurants with bars. This place does food, but I think that they have hidden the dining area out the back somewhere as it very much had a drinkers feel to it. Almost like a country pub in a village in Yorkshire. Not cheap, but that is the way the area is. I’d like to come back to this place when I’ve got more time.

Always my favourite pub in London, beer well kept, great selection and friendly bar staff. The lovely vintage Citroëns kept on Roupell St are a bonus.

First place I went too on my first trip out of the U.S., literally got off a train and ended up here. Spent alot of time here then, and since. One of my first stops when I get into London. Great brews, excellent staff!

This is one of my favourite pubs in the world, let alone London. It has separate public and saloon bars, they always have a wide selection of well kept real ales. To the rear is a larger space which serves Thai food. It’s also tucked away in a gorgeous setting on Roupell Street, which is like a time warp - a short walk from Waterloo and Blackfriars.

Lovely traditional pub / free house just of Waterloo, a true hidden gem with great Thai food and a good selection of beers

It was a little empty.. 2pm Saturday afternoon.. maybe no one else was hungry.. or everyone was just making the most of a sunny day..a rarity this year. The food was lovely.. but I am not a Thai expert! It wasn't overly salty, and tasted fresh and recently prepared. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but not so overly attentive as to be invasive.. which is hard to get right when there is only one diner! I would go again.. maybe with a friend next time though.

A small pub on the ground floor but you would not feel packed. The size is just right for drinking and chatting with close friends. It goes without saying that their Thai dishes are second to none if one looks to the authentic oriental cooking styles, ie more of spicy and salty and less sweet and sour. Those coming from Asia will see what I mean.
