Racist/xenophobic service, explicitly made fun of Asian background and accent. Refused to provide napkins. Differential treatment was clear when compared with white patrons in the room. Brunch was mediocre; the bread was dry and the sauces were too heavy. The deviled eggs were good.

Great dining experience. We had the entire place to ourselves. Our server Natalie was very attentive and sweet. They switch their menu items often so you will always find something new to try. The sticky biscuits definitely lived up to their name. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Everything was so delicious to eat as well as to drink. They have a great cocktail menu along with a wine/beer selection. Highly recommend visiting this place!

Asbury is not on most peoples radar I have been told more times than a little they have great brunch so I finally went and checked it out over the weekend. They are located inside of the Dunhill hotel downtown . Our waiter was super nice , and the host seen myself & my friend taking selfies and offered to come over and take pics for us which was nice of her. The staff from the hotel was even super nice the customer service here is A1 that’s for sure ! We started off with cranberry mimosas , you can’t go wrong with a mimosa. For appetizers we ordered the deviled eggs & sticky biscuits & Omg i committed a serious sin I did not realize til after the fact they had ham in there but I tell you what it was worth it lol. Those sticky biscuits were dynamite ! For our entrees I ordered the chicken & waffles & my friend ordered the banana pudding pancakes . When I say everything we ordered was so dead on good it was almost unreal . Asbury definitely exceeded my expectations & I want to come back and try the dinner there .Not to mention great prices very affordable.

As of January 2023, the quality is horrendous. I don’t use this word to describe food often, but it was literally revolting. I have come to this restaurant since it opened 10 years ago. A change in staff has left them without a chef. When I went, several tables left from the lack of major ingredients such as gravy and chicken (hello??? Chicken and waffles was the mainstay). The servers were doing their absolute best and I don’t want to ding them. The hotel manager was so kind and recognized the problem and assured me it was only temporary. I’ll share some photos of the food, but the egg over easy were harder than hard boiled, the biscuit dough was literally raw and nauseating. I will say the Turkey sausage was amazing. The coffee good and so were the mimosas. The meal was comped and I feel bad almost for dinging them, but I assure you, do not eat here for a few months until it improves.

My friend and I are in town for my birthday and found The Asbury whilst searching for a specific mesh of upscale with southern culture. This place exceeded all expectations! The host was amazing, I loved their style, I knew immediately “this is going to be great.” And man, was it! Our waiter was fantastic, very friendly and super attentive! I got an Asbury burger and Mac, and my friend got the Warm Kale Salad with salmon…one word. PHENOMENAL! Thank y’all for making the kickoff to my birthday weekend awesome!

Nice atmosphere and good service. I feel like for the price, sides should be included with sandwiches. The burger was tasty but very oily on the bottom of the bun. Mac and cheese was good and large potion that we shared. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. As you can see from my pictures the sandwich looks very lonely with just a pickle spear to keep it company.

We came here for brunch. Make a reservation because it's a tiny restaurant and it was pretty much full when we were there. We tried so many biscuits: the sticky biscuits, cast iron biscuits, and chicken in a biscuit. We also tried the fried chicken sammy and the mac and cheese. All of the food was good, but not great. My favorite things were the sticky biscuits and the fried chicken sammy. The mac and cheese was kind of bland and the cast iron biscuits didn't come with enough butter/jam. The thing that really made me not want to come back here was the service. It was incredibly slow. We waited for at least 10-15 minutes after we were ready before our waitress came to take our order. Then she didn't put in one of the entree orders for someone else at our table. Our water never got refilled. We had to ask for multiple coffee refills before we got one. They did at least make the entree they forgot about complementary, but the service still left a bad taste in my mouth. Our waitress also said they validated parking for the 5/3 garage, told us it would be $5, and supposedly validated ours, but we still got charged $11. Overall, the food probably wasn't good enough to make me come back with the bad service.

My friend and I stayed at the hotel and dined in for breakfast. The room was lovely and clean. It was convenient walking distance to food trucks and a variety of restaurants. (Also the Knight Theatre which was one of our stops.)We had breakfast this morning and our server was prompt and helpful. The food was delicious! I’ll definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

We went for the “dinner before the show” special, a 3 course meal for $40 a person. The food was all average. For some reason we waited over 20 minutes for the appetizers we ordered (3 meatballs and a salad) and then they brought out the appetizers WITH our entrees! why would anyone want that but specifically when we are here to eat 3 courses?? ruined the experience. Wish we would’ve gone somewhere else and used the 40 dollars to buy a good entree somewhere else

The Asbury was quiet early on a Monday morning. That allowed me the opportunity to chat with staff and recover following a late night at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Nikki M is a fantastic server and was perfectly attentive without hovering. I’d hoped to try the Chicken Biscuit with the piquillo cream cheese and blueberry jam, but they were out of chicken (not surprising after a busy weekend). I got my second choice, the Classic Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were good, the bacon extra crispy (just as I like it), and the jalapeno & smoked gouda potato cake, while just a little bit greasy, was scrumptious. The biscuit was overcooked but flakey enough to separate. Once the harder outside layers were removed, it met the expectations of this “southern rustic fare” restaurant. Its location inside The Dunhill allowed me a quick peak of Charlotte’s only “historic boutique hotel." Next time I’ll try to stay onsite and take advantage of the full bar and an expanded menu at The Asbury.

Decided to try this spot for brunch, I sat outside per my request and enjoyed taking in the scenery....overall, eh...it was okay. The shrimp and grit cake was just okay in my opinion....flavors were okay. I also had a mimosa that was decent. I think customer service could have been a bit better.

Maybe I was there on an off day? Great reviews but good was just ok. Enjoy the chair tea. Loved the seating outdoors and the service was wonderful. The sticky buns were very dry.

The place is quaint. Perfect for intimate gatherings. It was well lit and had a stellar view of Tryon St for people watching. It was a straight shot to all of the museums on Tryon and a very easy and enjoyable walk to both stadiums. Our server was slow and aloof. It really annoyed me because she lollygagged around and helped other servers serve their tables instead of serving us. We were on a tight schedule, in Charlotte for only one full day, we wanted to see as much as possible. I ordered the chicken and waffles, banana pancakes, and a jalapeno potato cake (shared all with the table). The chicken and waffles and potato cake were quite tasty. I don't recommend the banana pancakes; the flavor wasn't evenly distributed so it was either no banana or too much. I waited another 10 minutes for syrup because again our server was too busy at other tables to check on us 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫. Overall, the food and the atmosphere made up for her inattention. I'd go back, but I would be sure NOT to be put in her section. Although I forgot her name. 🙄 Be sure to make reservations. We made ours the morning of at maybe 8am with no problem, however by the time we were dining they were turning people away. We spent about $30/$40 per person.

My husband and I stopped through for a early breakfast we enjoyed everything. The banana pancakes were my favorite. The Atmosphere was clean and inviting. Only thing I did not like was the breakfast menu had no other meat alternative just pork. Breakfast menu was very LIMITED compared to competition. And our server was very disconnected from us.

Wife and I came for brunch before we checked out of the Dunhill. I had the regular breakfast with a potato cake and bacon. My eggs come over-medium, as I order them, so I was happy. 5he wife had banana pudding pancakes. I ended up finishing them for her cause they were just too much for her. They were freaking delicious! Coffee and hot tea flowed freely. Would definitely recommend coming here.
