I was skeptical when I walked it. I saw a cross and Christian faith related descriptions and symbols. My first questions were: “Are you faith based?” and “Are you a restaurant?”. It turns out that the restaurant is a not for profit that gives back to the community I believe to people that don’t have enough food. Their motto is “A southern kitchen on a local mission”. I looked at the menu and decided to give it a shot. The food is southern. I almost went with the fried chicken, but opted for boneless pork chop with collard greens and green beans. I did finish it all off with the banana pudding and a latte. The food was phenomenal. I suppose I was a little surprise. The decor of the restaurant was nice and my waitress was really good. The restaurant also has a full bar. Yes alcohol is served at this restaurant with a faith based mission. I suppose you couldn’t really exist as a restaurant in uptown Charlotte if you don’t serve alcohol.

It is decent could improve in some areas. Atmosphere is calming & service is alright 8/10. Food was very salty like cornbread and devil eggs and Mac n cheese. Shrimp n grits very very spicy 🥵 However fried chicken was great along with biscuit!! Love the give back non profit mission they are apart of helping others. Thank you wishing more success to this place

Expectations were high because it's part of the Noble group. They didn't disappoint. The pot roast and mac and cheese were good. The green beans were a little salty. Overall it was a good experience. The location is good for taking in the uptown vibe. The service was good too.

Love the purpose of this place. The food is good, the service is acceptable (not exceptional) but the atmosphere is Great! I was greeted by a very professional staff. My meal came out hot and in a timely manner. I lived the wine and I live the mission of this establishment.

If you visit uptown Charlotte you need to go to Kings Kitchen. Their mission is beautiful and their food is fantastic. Definitelyyy get the fried chicken and Mac & Cheese. Our kids enjoyed the peanut butter jelly. Shrimp and grits and boiled peanuts were also excellent. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Charlotte!

I absolutely love this place! The food doesn't need any additional seasoning, because the food is scrumptious as is!! Try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Delightful experience! Have always seen this passing by and it was closed for a while but finally opened back up. It’s a beautiful humanitarian center that does a lot to give back to the community. The inside is spacious and beautiful designed. Open kitchen concept and great flow for everything. Additionally they have a garage door type window that slides open completely. This is both beautiful and obnoxious with the smells of the street if you’re too close but that’s not their fault. Food was spectacular! I cannot suggest the fried chicken and potatoes enough! My partner had shrimp and grits which were the best shrimp and grits we’d had. Everything was tasty and our server was so sweet and patient with our questions! Will be back!

Delicious Southern food in the city. Nice staff and menu although the beer draft menu was not very diverse (hint, add a porter or a stout). I would definitely recommend.

Came here for the first time while visiting a friend in Charlotte. We ordered the Crab & Spinach Dip, the Al a Carte meats and then we chose the “Make it a Southern Classic” which gives you the choice of 3 sides. We also ordered the Pomegranate Margarita. The crab dip was amazing and the food was fabulous. Our server was super friendly and service was prompt. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great bite to eat.

Our server, Ashley, was nice and so was JB! The food came out pretty quickly & was really tasty! The pimento cheese was flavorful & the fried oysters were absolutely delicious! They were fried to perfection. We will be back to try other menu items as the prices were pretty fair. We came here for a family members birthday & there was even a birthday sign waiting for her at the table! We all thought that was super sweet!

Great server, she was a lot of fun. Food was delicious! Fun space. We also had the deviled eggs & coconut cake (neither pictured). I’ll definitely visit again soon!

I love salmon and like to try any salmon dish that a restaurant may have. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish, but it’s located in the ‘Composed’ section of the menu. The salmon was juicy and there were nutty and sweet flavors and the mashed potatoes and crunchy sautéed artichoke bed was delicious . I would have like this dish even more if it were smoked. Overall the service is friendly and attentive.

A lovely experience!! This southern kitchen hit the mark for a down home meal with all the fixins! The pimento cheese app is a must!! Fried chicken was perfectly fried, crispy not greasy. The greens were cooked perfectly. Make sure to get a biscuit - the best I've had in a long time - big n fluffy!! All this and more with outstanding, attentive service. And what a great idea!! A non-profit restaurant supporting Charlotte's homeless.

Had a Wonderful Time and outstanding dinner at the King's Kitchen. The Fried Chicken was absolutely delicious and the fried catfish was just as good. The scratch-made pimento cheese was absolutely awesome. Not one thing that we had was anything less than wonderful. We went in for the mission but left talking about the food.

This is a really cool concept... It's a nonprofit bar/restaurant that supports local charities and provides bible study to the homeless. Also most of the food and beer is local so it supports local business and the prices are reasonable. Bar service was great and the pimento cheese with rye bread was freshly prepared and tasted great!

Got reservations and were seated on time. We ordered some appetizers: boiled peanuts, deviled eggs, fried oysters, and a bread basket with biscuits and corn bread. The last item was so-so and kind of dry, but everything else was very good. We ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp and grits. Both were super good. Finished off with banana pudding, and chocolate torte both of which are excellent.

I've had better southern food in Chicago. Heck, I've cooked better fried chicken at home. My pal in Chicago cooks a better gumbo. I know it's non profit, but the reviews don't justify the food and the price. Great Hefeweizen though. More detailed review is that the fried chicken was not hot. It wasn't even warm, it was basically room temperature. We did come at 9:20, 40 min before closing time, but come on. Of the two biscuits we got, one was clearly a day older and stale. I got the chicken gumbo which tasted like chicken soup with wild rice. Both the fried chicken and chicken gumbo lacked salt and general seasoning. Best thing was probably the mac and cheese. We went to Eagle Food a bit south and it was way better. Sorry for the bad review, but jeez none of the dishes tasted good.

My best friend took me here for my birthday, while I was visiting her in Charlotte. We got there right at five when they opened. The atmosphere was great, we sat by the window and I had a happy birthday sign at my table. I ordered the crab and spinach dip. It came out pretty quick. It was super greasy, you could see the grease sitting in it. Stirring it did not help. It had more artichoke and spinach. I tasted no crab. My daughter and her cousin ordered the chicken pot pie. That also came out with grease sitting in it. The roux mixture or whatever they used, oil to flour ratio was off. My best friend and my daughters Mac and cheese was cold. Now granted, we got there at five when they opened. It should have not been cold. My meal was the catfish and collards. That tasted great. Overall, from viewing pictures online, they can be inconsistent with some of the food items. I saw a picture where someone’s crab and spinach dip was on the plate nicely plated (showed no signs of grease) and the bread surrounding. Mine was in a bowl on the plate with the bread surrounding. When I visit Charlotte again, I would give it another try, hopefully I will have a better experience.

The King's Table restaurant in Charlotte, NC, stands out for its incredible non-profit mission, aiming to serve the community with compassion and care. The commitment to giving back truly shines. The service is top-notch, with staff members who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. While the food may not be exceptional, it's decent enough to complement the heartwarming atmosphere created by the restaurant's dedication to making a positive impact.

Ok. So I wrote out this long review about my experience at kings kitchen.. But before submitting it I so happen to go back and read their mission to serve the community by feeding the homeless and giving others a second chance with employment. So I erased it. And wrote this over..My experience was different. My advice to the staff is please pay close attention when preparing food. A nice size piece of white Paper was in my cornbread. I’m not sure how anyone preparing food could miss it. I will not bring up the other issues. But Preparing food is very important. What goes in my body that’s not properly prepared can cause major issues.. Please be careful. I’m a Christian myself and I’m happy there is a business that’s serving food, the community, along with the word of God. I just hope what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else. So this business continue to thrive and support the people.

The atmosphere is nice but the service and food leaves little to be desired. We had reservations and upon arrival I shared that with the hostess. She seemed bothered and when we requested to sit outside without consideration she was like, “there’s no seating” but there was! I later shared this with the manager. The food was seasoned and the waiter was not engaged. Probably would not visit this establishment again. I’ve eaten at several great restaurants Uptown and thought this restaurant would be great, but it wasn’t.

Had a wonderful meal here, with fantastic service from Ingrid! The foundation of what this restaurant stands for and is committed to made it an obvious choice for supper. We wanted southern food and the cost of our meal helps others … no brainer! Super cool minimalist vibe meets great food. We ordered fried green tomatoes, chicken pot pie, squash casserole and fried catfish dinner. Everything was scrumptious… particularly the end note of coconut cake. I absolutely LOVE this restaurant concept of giving back!

We had an amazing dinner at The King’s Kitchen and love their mission to help people in need and provide jobs. The fried chicken was delicious; the breading was so flavorful and perfectly crispy. The sides were nice and hot and well-seasoned. We enjoyed everything we tried. The honey butter and topping for the roasted sweet potatoes were tasty. The sweet tea was a little too sweet for my taste but letting the ice melt helped water it down a little. Our servers were extremely attentive and they along with the manager checked on us often. Such a delicious meal!

King’s Kitchen was our first meal while visiting Charlotte so the expectation was high for some good comfort food. While the ambiance and service was good, the food was really lacking flavour. We ordered a pulled BBQ chicken sandwich and it was just boiled chicken in between bread (visible in the picture) with no seasoning or sauce. The fried chicken sandwich and sides were also just okay. The fried green tomatoes were the best item ordered. Lastly, the server noticed my husband’s glass of coke was empty and said he’d be grabbing another. We thought this was a nice touch as a “bottomless drink” - it wasn’t. Instead it was $7 for two fountain cokes.

Went here during lunch. Service was fast and food came out within 15 minutes. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. The Mac and cheese was super yummy and creamy. The greens were good but a tad salty. I’ve had the greens before and they are normally very tasty so maybe today was just a mishap in the kitchen. Had the spinach and crab dip (not pictured) and it wasn’t my fav. Tasted vinegary. Food overall yummy!

I’m grateful to have savored the shrimp and grits which had a sensational Cajun flair! The sauce that enveloped my grits was very flavorful- adorned with spicy andouille sausage and other deliciousness. The atmosphere was welcoming in this clean restaurant. We had just made it in time before lunch is over. We were greeted kindly, served promptly, and never felt rushed even though they were about to close to prepare for Bible study and dinner. *Pictured: Because my order was carry out- they packaged the grits and sauce separately. I poured the sauce over my grits at home.

Pimento cheese appetizer was great! Boiled peanuts were ok as far boiled peanuts go. For the main course we got the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken sandwich. Shrimp and grits were for sure the better of the two entrees. Great savory flavor in the gravy. Fried chicken sandwich was as you'd expect. Certainly delicious but nothing surprising about it. Collards were excellent! You're able to leave a donation at the end of the meal!

Great service and food! They changed the TV to the football game we wanted to see and gave a piece of cake to our bachelor. The honey butter is way better than the apple butter.

The spinach salad had way too much dressing so every bite was dripping with the taste of Dijon mustard. Also the draft beer menu had a drink listed as an IPA when it was actually an extremely tart cider. After noticing that this was clearly not an IPA, I looked on the official website of the brewery and it was not listed as an IPA there, as well as only 8.4% ABV rather than the 9.5% on the menu here. The draft menu has asterisks next to three of the drinks, but there was nothing on the bottom or back of the menu clarifying what they represented. Between the bad salad and the poorly written menus, I can't say I'd recommend this place. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because the pork chops and applesauce were good.

Great service! Rich shrimp and grits, sweetened greens (beware), sweet potatoes a bit bland. All else was fabulous and delicious - they are great with big groups. Generous portions!

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
