I travel for work and I enjoy barbecue so when I'm out and about I watch out for opportunities to try a new place. I have never been to Midwood before but I found it on Google reviews and decided to give it a try and went for lunch with one of my co-workers. It was some of the best BBQ I've ever had! Everything was tender and juicy and delicious. We ordered one of the combo plates for two people and it was all we could do to eat it. Basically everything in the combo was delicious . We tried several different barbecue sauces with our meat and all of it was just really good. If you're in the area I highly recommend it! Don't miss out on this place if you like to try. Barbecue! Cool atmosphere inside the restaurant as well.

Donnie was great, very informative of the menu, and helped us out with our orders. Food came out quick and fresh. Everything was amazing and can’t complain. The macaroni and cheese was very tasty and the portion size is great for the price. Will definitely come back again! Best cornbread I ever had!

I’ve been to Midwood Smokehouse in Plaza Midwood many times. There’s always pretty great service. I really do love this place because it’s local. We have also gotten catering from them a few times as well. I do end up going on Sunday and Mondays and I feel like the food quality has gone down a little. I’m not sure if it’s a different staff on those days, but we will still go back. We really love the burnt ends and the ribs. Sadly, they didn’t have the beef ribs yesterday (Sunday) either. We also ordered a salad, but they forgot about it but we ended up getting it afterwards. Our server Ellen was lovely. She was very bubbly, personable and accommodating. Like I said, we will definitely go back. Will try to go on a different day next time!

I order food from here about 2-3 times a week and it's normally great. I love their banana pudding and burnt ends. I even brought my parents here when they were in town. I had a weird experience today with them that left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't usually complain about food but when it's a certain price point, I will point out when the quality is off. I ordered an upstream salad. I noticed the salmon was a little small but I could deal. When I cut it up, it was very pink. Yes, I know salmon is pink even cooked. But it was closer to raw than cooked. Properly cooked salmon should flake when at the proper cook level. I had to cook it myself to get it medium level doneness. Because I had paid $15 for it, I thought I would call the restaurant, thinking they would comp $5 off my next order or whatever is the industry standard. The manager on duty didn't offer anything other than a semi sarcastic explanation that salmon should be pink and that it's purposefully undercooked for takeout orders. I don't know about ya'll but I don't want to cook food I paid restaurant prices for. If I wanted to cook my own I'd go buy from a grocery store. There are a lot of places to eat in Charlotte. Maybe I'll stick to exploring those for a while

Great night at Milwood! At first glance, this restaurant screams cleanliness... it sparkles, then you take a breath, and OMG does it smell amazing. Our server was amazing, food was off the chart, and a private peek at the smoker in the kitchen made our evening unforgettable.

Totally in love! Husband got the burnt ends and I got the chili Nelson tacos. Both were excellent. Service was some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere. Food was quick and delicious!

WOW! This place is INCREDIBLE! Incredible food, beer, atmosphere and service (shoutout to Savannah for taking EXCELLENT care of us). We went to a lot of BBQ places on our last trip to Teas and Midwood in Charlotte far exceeded their BBQ. Definitely get the "Pig Out" Platter, which is more than enough to feed 2 people (get the burnt ends of Brisket too). We also got the cornbread, which was the best cornbread I've eaten in my life! Highly recommend! Will be back soon!

Really great food & service. Excellent customer service. If you like beef ribs, they only have about 10 of them available on Sunday's and they go pretty quickly. Banana pudding is served cold and was good. Everything is served in large portions.

My wife and I shared the sampler. We love bbq and have eaten a good bit of it. Midwood is some of the best we have ever had. Ribs as good as any I’ve had in Memphis. 5 star brisket. Both the sliced and the burnt ends. The mustard chicken was a surprise that really delighted me. Most places don’t make chicken that is worth mentioning. Not so here. The pulled pork was the best I’ve ever had, and I have had a lot. The collards were amazing as were the hush puppies. Mike (I think he was the manager) waited on us and was super nice. Thanks for making our visit special.

Some of the best bbq dishes our group has ever had! Our server Shekinah went above and beyond to make our experience the best. Good portions, beer selection was excellent. I never get brisket but I did today along with burnt ends they were best I’ve ever had. They told us they were voted second best in North Carolina, in our book they are 1st. Looking forward to visiting again!

Enjoyed the meal tremendously. Our waitress, who was training a new employee, was superb. She was on top of every need. I would definitely recommend giving Midwood a try. The Burnt Ends were delicious. Probably the best Ive had at any smokehouse.

You NEED to try this place. The only thing you need to worry about is coming here hungry because you will be stuffed. We visited Midwood Smokehouse 3 times on a one week trip in Charlotte, it's that good. The food is the best BBQ I've ever had, and the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is also super cool inside. Well worth a visit if you are nearby, you won't regret it!

I came back to NC for my nephews high school graduation. My friends from Knoxville, TN came to visit as well. We went to Midwood Smokehouse, all of our first time visiting and it was really good. We looked at the menu and couldn’t figure out what we wanted due to us not being there before and never trying their sauces. We asked the waiter to bring us the sauces so we could try. Our waiter brought out the SC Mustard, Easter NC vinegar, and Cola Barbecue sauces. After we tasted the different sauces this helped us make up our minds of what we wanted. Our waiter recommend like three items but I don’t remember what the two items were. But he did recommend the Burnt Ends and this is what I ordered with Brunswick Stew and Barbecue Baked Beans. What I loved about Midwood Smokehouse is the meat was seasoned before they added the sauces. I could taste the season and the brisket was so good. I never had Brunswick Stew and it was actually good, just for me it had to many lima beans. Loved the baked beans. They were so good. My Dad had the full rack of Saint Louis Style Pork Ribs. Another friend had a half rack of ribs and my other friend had the Carolina Pork.

Great BBQ spot for lunch, Dinner, or to grab drinks. The Pulled Pork sando with the spicy BBQ sauce was really good. The meat was smokey and well seasoned. The hushpuppies were really good and don't sleep on the baked beans. The atmosphere was chill and service was great as well.

Loved it!! A perfect stop if you’re looking for barbecue while staying in Charlotte!! Saw in the reviews that the burnt ends were good- they definitely lived up to it!!! Melt in your mouth! Got the Carolina pork myself and it was moist- so flavorful and good. My favorite thing was the quality of the sides - they tasted fresh! (I hate when you can tell the sides at a bbq place have been sitting out all day). The cornbread was INCREDIBLE. Idk what made it taste so good. Only qualm was the restaurant was really dark and packed a bit tightly. Some screaming kids close by. Otherwise great experience. Good for people passing through!

Absolutely some of the most excellent customer service and BBQ I've ever had! The local beer was great, too. The wait staff went above and beyond and were incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere was nice as well.

I came down to Charlotte with every intention of eating barbecue, and Midwood Smokehouse did not disappoint. It was my first time ever visiting and I absolutely loved it. Great food, reasonably priced, and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend getting the big share platter. It was more than enough for four people and we got a selection of everything. And don't forget to get the jalapeno cornbread skillet. Amazing!

We're from out of town and decided to try some true Southern bbq. And we were not disappointed! Such great food!!! We had tacos, brisket and banana pudding. Everything was very delicious. Ashley was our server. She was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very fun to talk with. I definitely recommend this place!

The restaurant is expensive and a little on the dark side. The best thing about the entire meal was our appetizer chicken wings! The crispy garlic buffalo are really good. If we were to go back honestly we would probably just order wings as our meal and get a side of macaroni and really enjoyed their homemade pickles.. The food is good but not the greatest. The Brunswick stew was spicy and just not it. The greens lack that meaty goodness taste. If you're just craving some barbecue it's a good place to go. But we drove an hour so that makes us view restaurants a little different. We definitely wouldn't drive an hour again but if it was close we would come back. The staff was friendly and the restaurant/bathrooms seemed clean.

Excellent for BBQ!! Our waitress Samantha was awesome. We will definitely be back if we ever make it back to NC. Great variety if sauces. We had the 1/2 rack of ribs and Burnt Ends.

Possibly (almost definitely) the best barbecue we’ve ever had. Our food was served in less than 5 minutes, and everything was so tender, moist, and freshly cooked. The waiter also offered a free sample of burnt ends before we knew what we wanted. Absolutely worth the 1+ hour drive!

Great food. Some of the best smoked wings around. Fall off the bone ribs and pork tacos 🌮 with a kick. Mule Mondays mean $7 mule drinks. Highly recommend this place.

First visit here and the food was pretty good. The smoked wings were tasty but a bit cooled unfortunately. The Mac n cheese was ok but again just warm when given to us. It's like they were busy and it was just sitting. I actually sent it back and had the jalapeño poppers instead. Our platter however was delicious. The Brisket was tender and moist. I gave this place 4 stars based on the Brisket and our wonderful server. I would possibly visit again but there are other BBQ places I would visit first.

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
